Being a trucker i always had a set of "V" bar chains. They are amazing for that melt ice on the road. But even with them, some of that ice is so hard even the chains didn't help. I'd recognize Suicide Hill any time of the year. Spent a lot of time as a child on a small ranch out in the meadows.
Is that what they call it? Suicide hill? I’ve never heard that before. Chains might have helped on a couple of these hills but I’ve always steered clear of them bc they can be so cumbersome to use over long distances in a rig like these. Makes total sense on a big rig.
During this video I think I still had a midland mt575 but shortly after I switched to an icom 2730a dualband and did the murs hardware unlock. The midland was great but Canadians are missing the boat on GMRS. icom is definitely the way to go as long as you can stomach the mod on your brand new head unit.
Wow!! Watching this and seeing the absolute hellish conditions y'all went through to get to camp gives me a whole new perspective!! So happy we came and met up with y'all, instead of trying to meet at the falls later in the day. What an adventure!!
haha yeah I don't think the stories the next morning did it justice but was great to meet up with everyone and next week I'll post the video with the icey climb out of hale and all the crew hopefully!
