Shade, definitely Knobs (if you can ) but cup handles on the drawers , it would give you that country theme you are longing for❤ also I know the shelf brackets were a ball ache to do but I think would look fab the other end a perfect match! All coming together lovely, I am seeing your vision girl, well done!!
loved watching this, not only is it massively helpful, luckily for me you have the same vibe youre going for, cottagey etc. Also s good to see someone from the UK so we can get a realistic idea of size and what works etc. Having a partner with the same birthday is just so convenient not gonna lie lol.
Hi Shade. The cheaper door handles looks better. It looks nice with the white tiles and would look a bit brighter in the darker months overall . Hope you’re ok
I think a white sink will look great. We live in a hard water area so feel your pain! I loved the more expensive pull handles. The lighter ones gave me old lady vibes plus I liked the colour better of the more expend ones they make it feel warmer. You’re doing a great job well done!
Fab sink and lovely shelves! I think the antiqued handle looks better than the pale gold one especially with the shelves up. For my kitchen I mixed knobs (upper cabinets and drawers) with pulls (lower cabinets) which turned out way nicer than the homogenous look of same pulls on upper and lower. My sister has double knobs in place of the pulls in a rental kitchen and surprisingly they look quite nice and modern. Btw, Amazon has nice quality and affordable brass knobs and pulls. Looking forward to the final outcome!
The shelves looks great and lovely blinds too. I do think the brass handles would look lovely with the shelves. You should try this, before putting knobs there. Entirely up to you. But think they will more suit the look xx
Ooohh I can envision some nice copper pots and pans hanging from those hooks, they would look sooo good! Wonderful job Shade, really impressed by your skills!
Don't forget to check if you need to order a plinth for the dishwasher (the bit that goes along the bottom of the cupboards down to the floor). We forgot when we decided to integrate the washing machine
The shelves look lovely all styled up. The white sink would be lovely especially with the sage green blind. Coming together beautifully. Happy birthday to you both 💙
I think you should put some of your Denby pieces like the mugs on the shelves. The Craftsman mugs. That would give a vintage look. Lol I’m excited for you!
Lovely vlog Shade and those shelves really made the kitchen. I prefer the darker handles! If you are going to change the kitchen in years to come I would not go to the trouble of filling the holes to use knobs it’s a lot of work. Glad that you opted for the stage green roller blind it really sets off the kitchen. Happy belated birthday to you and Rob enjoy Amsterdam ❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ as for the kitchen runner I have a jute circle rug in my kitchen it is amazing now here’s the thing if your buying a runner think about sauces and smoothies that stain you might want to go with a outdoor runner that can be hosed down in the garden and are more robust and durable and easier to lift stains out off or go with one that can go in the washing machine and don’t use bleach near them and if you go with a pattern it’s more forgiving if it gets stained we absolutely love having a thick rug especially in winter well done on the progress and totally agree with the handles there not right knobs or pulls would probably look better don’t settle even if it’s temporary also for the stainless steel sink first clean normally with multi spray wash off then spray a generous amount stainless steel cleaner wait a few minutes and take a damp or dry cloth and rub it vigorously don’t wet it at all it’s the only way to stop the marks for several days
Shade… you’ve really done it. It looks so amazing with the shelf seriously!! I can’t believe what a difference that has made. It’ll look even better I think when you get the new handles on the cupboards 🙊 finding this so inspirational because I have my first home and the kitchen is not my vibe at all, super modern and one of the first things I thought was, one thing I can do to make a difference is change the cupboard handles! You’re lucky you have such good colours to work with. I have black surfaces and grey & purple large tiles 😅😂😂 so happy for you it looks beautiful! 🙊 hope you enjoyed your spa day! ❤
Thank you so much my lovely! Sounds like you have some DIYs on your hands but you can totally do it, just take your time - maybe some tile paint and wrap the countertops 🥰
Have you thought about cup handles for your cabinets they are very traditional style? The shelves look amazing ...very homely.... I love how you have all the diy gear!! I would love all that myself 😄
Great idea!! I will have to get some cup handles for the drawers and hopefully knobs for the cupboards! I'm very lucky it's taken a few years to build up the collection and I'm sure there's still lots to go haha! xx
Ooh I have been thinking about this but I just don't think the actual shape of the pulls I currently have is very in keeping with the style I'm looking for. But maybe I will just do a test run and see..you never know! xxxx
Good afternoon Shade , Happy Birthday 🎂......I love the shelves & love the color they look beautiful all dressed ( great job) ....I think the cheaper handles are lovely they compliment your countertops nicely . The roman blind is gorgeous love the color sage love the idea of a porcelain sink ....great content thank you very much ....🇨🇦
Love the sink it would look great, excited to see the kitchen door hole fill, would love to change mine. Just found your channel looking forward to binge more videos. Take care xx
I had a Villeroy and Bosch china white sink from Magnet, had to buy one of those old plastic drainery type things for the base as, things break!!!!!!! Just a heads up!
I had a ceramic sink put in when my kitchen was done 5 years ago. Yes, you do need to be careful with ceramic, but I love it and it still looks brand new. Your kitchen is really coming together now!
You’re such a clever girl, you can turn your hand to most things. I’m in my 70’s and can’t bang a nail in straight 🙄 Thank goodness for command strips! 😂 The handles you have on your kitchen units are the same as mine (same kitchen) and I liked them until I saw you looking at different ones……. You’re doing an amazing job on your home. I’ve been going to go to the Sue Ryder shop in Eye for years but never made it. I will now though. x
Hi Shade, this is another great video. The kitchen plans are coming along nicely. With regards to the sink - I have the butler sink (with a middle bit) that you showed in the video. It looks lovely, however, I would advise against getting it. Over the years, almost my entire Denby dinner service has fallen victim to this sink. The slightest knock of your crockery against the sink and they're a gonna. Of course you can use a kitchen bowl, which I am doing now, but that also spoils the aesthetics. I changed from a stainless steal sink but now I'm planning to get rid of the butler sink when I do my kitchen revamp. xxx
Happy Birthday to both of you enjoy your overnight stay at the spa 💜love how the shelves came out 💜the white sink idea would look really nice, I also have a stainless sink and it drives me crazy with hard water stains 💜I do like the cheaper option of the handles 😄
Hi Shade, love your channel!!! its so nice to see a kitchen makeover that isnt spending loads of money buying a whole new kitchen! :) also where was your wall detector item from? it looks really good :)
You did a great job making the shelves, did you forget about "distressing" them? It is a good technique (a good stress reliever)but as you are dressing the shelves you couldn't see any marks on top anyway. The parsley won't grow well on the shelf needs to be in a lighter location - windowsill. Stop doubting your decisions, think of all the projects you have done, you know what you are doing. With stain and paint you can always redo it. Have a good week.
Hi Shade, if you want to shine the sink you have and save yourself the money you could try Distilled white vinegar. Just line your sink and taps etc with kitchen roll and soak that with OWN BRAND white vinegar and leave for 15mins pus depending on the amount of limescale present then once yo can see its lifted just give it a wah down. You'll be surprised by the results. P.s. I do love the white sink though. ❤ 😂
I’m gonna say this even though I’m a little late watching this episode but anyway I’m just gonna say it.. the color of stain u we’re looking for was the color of ur work pants u had on for filming. Lol
I have been thinking about this but I just don't think the actual shape of the pulls I currently have is very in keeping with the style I'm looking for. But maybe I will just do a test run and see..you never know! xxxx
So glad you got the blind you wanted. Get the ceramic sink too. Enjoy the kitchen now and don’t worry about future..do it for now.
Hey, B&Q have really nice brushed brass pull handles that look quite antique, they come in packs of 2!
loved watching this, not only is it massively helpful, luckily for me you have the same vibe youre going for, cottagey etc.
Happy belated birthday to you and the hubby! I am so glad that you are feeling better. I really miss your content. The makeover thus far looks lovely.
Thank you so much!! big hugs xx
I think a white sink will look great. We live in a hard water area so feel your pain! I loved the more expensive pull handles. The lighter ones gave me old lady vibes plus I liked the colour better of the more expend ones they make it feel warmer. You’re doing a great job well done!
The hard water is such a pain! Haha i know what you mean about the old lady vibes but I kind of still like them ahah 👀🤣
I shelves look fantastic. I can't wait to see what type of knobs you install on the cabinets
Thanks hun! You and me both! xxxx
Love the shelves and the way you've dressed them. The blind is stunning. The kitchen is looking so cosy x
Thanks so much! 😊

Actually they look really good styled up!
thank you!!! xxx
Love the shelves I would go with gold handles. Then the shelf would blend better. Happy birthday 🎂
Love, love, love the shelves! I would have hung some cute pots on the hooks instead of bag, but still very cute. Well done mama. ☺️💐💐💐
Ooohh I can envision some nice copper pots and pans hanging from those hooks, they would look sooo good!
Wonderful job Shade, really impressed by your skills!
Oh gosh that would be beautiful wouldn't it! If only I hadn't just got a bunch of stainless steel ones 🤣
Don't forget to check if you need to order a plinth for the dishwasher (the bit that goes along the bottom of the cupboards down to the floor). We forgot when we decided to integrate the washing machine
Nice to see you are back doing what you are good at DIY ❤️👍
The shelves look lovely all styled up. The white sink would be lovely especially with the sage green blind. Coming together beautifully. Happy birthday to you both 💙
I think you should put some of your Denby pieces like the mugs on the shelves. The Craftsman mugs. That would give a vintage look. Lol I’m excited for you!
Shelves look SO GOOD!!!!! You killed it. I’m so in love.

Cheaper handles look really gorgeous
9:12 😅i think what makes the white sink work is the darker cabinets
Fantastic job well done to you both love it ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Get the sink 100%! It made the biggest change to my kitchen when I got the white sink installed!! I also got it on eBay for £10🤣
Omg that's amazing haha! How did you get it so cheap? Auction one?
Shade… you’ve really done it. It looks so amazing with the shelf seriously!! I can’t believe what a difference that has made. Loved this! Well done it looks so so good
Thanks so much! 😊
As you were browsing I was screaming BLUE BLUE BLUE …. even though I loved the brown ones .. both together as you landed on them.
Have you thought about cup handles for your cabinets they are very traditional style? The shelves look amazing ...very homely.... I love how you have all the diy gear!! I would love all that myself 😄

Shade get “rub and buff brass” it’s supposed to be great for turning chrome into a lovely brass finish - I’m using some this week 😍
Commented too early… 🙈 the shelves look great with the wooden brackets! Well done!
Ooh I have been thinking about this but I just don't think the actual shape of the pulls I currently have is very in keeping with the style I'm looking for. But maybe I will just do a test run and see..you never know! xxxx

We got our handles from Choice Handles, really good quality and reasonably priced.
Just had a look on their website they have some lovely pieces thanks for sharing!
Love the kitchen mini makeover also❤
Yay! Thank you!
I had a Villeroy and Bosch china white sink from Magnet, had to buy one of those old plastic drainery type things for the base as, things break!!!!!!! Just a heads up!
The shelves are beautiful. The antique brass handles are a nicer shade for the doors.
Another great vlog from the one and only Shade!! Loving the inspo as always x
Thank you! 🥰❤️
A Belated happy Birthday🎉. The shelves look amazing 👏 😍
I had a ceramic sink put in when my kitchen was done 5 years ago. Yes, you do need to be careful with ceramic, but I love it and it still looks brand new. Your kitchen is really coming together now!
Great tip! I think it will make all the difference xxx
Fabulous job Shade as usual
Love it! Shade you are soo talented!🙌

Good Evening Shade, so glad to be the first here to check out your video.

You can also use hooks for coffee cups, towel holder, or even pots.😊😊
Shelves look lovely hope u had the best Birthday x

I love
L O V E
Amazing 🎉
Well done 👏🏼
Love love love 😍
Happy Birthday Bestie Lovebirds 🎉❤
Thank you so much hunnyyy!!!!! 🎉❤ 🎉❤ 🎉❤
The shelves look great! I agree.. sometimes it takes a little while to get used to those type of changes when you've been accustomed to a blank wall.
Happy Birthday to you both 🎉🥳 x
thanks hunnnn!!! xxxx
Buy extender bit for your drill saves a lot of problems. I would put a dab of stain on the screws.
I really should do this!!
Mix up some sawdust and the stain together and put in the screw holes on the shoelace brackets it’ll make the harsh silver disappear xxx
Shelves are fab but are you covering up silver screws on shelf's ❤
Hi Shade, love your channel!!! its so nice to see a kitchen makeover that isnt spending loads of money buying a whole new kitchen! :) also where was your wall detector item from? it looks really good :)
Thanks so much hun! It's from amazon - linked in the desc xx
Hi Shade can you tell me the make of your folding work mate you had your electric saw on ? It looks really easy to use .
Happy belated birthday to you both 🎉🎉
38:50 made it seem like he was drilling his head!
Put a bit of your varnish on the silver screws on your shelf brackets Darling so they’ll blend in
absolutely!! need to get around to that hehe x
Happiest of birthdays to you and ur mom❤❤❤❤
Thanks hun!! It was me and Rob hehe xxx
@@ShadeShannon Oh ok. I hope y’all had great birthdays❤️❤️
I think the shelves should be a chunkier wood and smaller brackets ... ❤
What about the NYDALA bronze coloured handles from IKEA?? X
ooh just had a look they're super nice but sadly the wrong size hole distance xx
You did a great job making the shelves, did you forget about "distressing" them? Can you tell me the drill you used, please 🙏..
of course! here's the drill - amzn.to/46d3kNE
@ShadeShannon .. thank you, keep up the amazing videos, love them
Maybe the brackets are a bit big!
I’m gonna say this even though I’m a little late watching this episode but anyway I’m just gonna say it.. the color of stain u we’re looking for was the color of ur work pants u had on for filming. Lol
hahahaa love it! they defo were 🤣
Dark brown doors & staircase? Very 70s
Hi Shade, have you thought about going to a salvage or thrift shop that sells handles and knobs. Those places are cheaper
I would love to find one that sells them near me but haven't been successful 🥲
I think the shelves are to dark.
Shelves look great, but sorry to say I really don't like the colour of them. I would have gone lighter, but it's not my kitchen xx
I get where you're coming from they would look super nice in the dark oak too xxx
Why don't you just age the cheaper ones with rub and buff or other product? You are so handy with diy that um sure you would find a way to do this.
I have been thinking about this but I just don't think the actual shape of the pulls I currently have is very in keeping with the style I'm looking for. But maybe I will just do a test run and see..you never know! xxxx
I agree the shelves needs to be a bit lower also personally I think you styled it with too much stuff on them, it looks a bit cluttered
ooooh fair enough!
