The dreamer. Another man’s grave. Hell and you. The weight. Every one of his songs is amazing. It’s so hard to pick one singular song. His shows, there’s never a dry eye in the room.
I adore Amigo the Devil. If you're looking for more emotional songs, I cannot recommend "Another Man's Grave" and "Stronger Than Dead" enough. His whole discography is exquisite.

Another Man's Grave legit saved my life. I listened to it on repeat one night, woke up the next day and am still here. If you are able to see him live I highly suggest it! Best show ever.
Amigo is so talented, and you can see he pours his soul into every dark corner of his art. Loved this reaction too - thoughtful and contemplative like the song itself.
I can identify with every single lyric of this song. It's nuts, seeing this live is a crazy cleansing experience, I went to go see him alone...and it was the best decision I could've made. Some dude screamed out some dumb sh**t during the intro to this song and when people started yelling at him Amigo stopped them and said something like "It's ok, if he could make light of something like this (the intro was a perfect set up to the song) then ne has never experienced real pain and he is a lucky man for that." He's a class act. One of the best live performances i have ever seen and I haven gone to tons and tons of shows for more than 20 years.
Amigo is also one of the nicest people in real life. Dahmer Does Hollywood is a fantastic song, shows a bit of his darker sides. Such a talent.
Danny is so underrated very glad to finally see his music being noticed by reactors.

Saw him back in February along with Bridge City Sinners and it was the best show I’ve ever been to! This is the one artist where you don’t necessarily need to hear the studio version because he’s just that powerful live.
His audience is diverse, from young to old, people from all different backgrounds. I cry every time I hear this song, and at the show I was standing next to this older punk guy who I also heard sniffling and saw his wife comforting him out of the corner of my eye

Musicians are almost a dime a dozen. Few are Artists. Danny is A TRUE ARTIST. I’ve seen some LEGENDS in concert…. but I’d go back to see Amigo again before any of them. His live show has such a unique vibe. He’s hilarious, super engaging and a true true Artist who is beloooooved by his fans. For years, I’ve said I’d “climb mountains to see him live”. And I finally got to a show last month. Damn near drove 400 miles to catch the next one the following night but it was sold out.
Anyway, a true Artist. All raw heart, master lyricist, and one HELLUVA stage presence. Fellowship forever. Much love for Danny. ♥️

Your video got posted up in a group I’m in, which is ALL about Amigo the Devil. His music has touched my heart and soul like no other artist ever has. His music has been there for me when nothing else has. If you’re looking to broaden and explore more in the lane of folky music, I suggest “Not Coming Home” by Benjamin Tod, or “Haydens Lament” by Lost Dog Street Band. Anything by Benjamin, or Lost Dog is BRILLIANT but those are just my two suggestions.

If you want some fun good rhythm to jam to “Murder at The bingo hall” is my recommendation but if you want more like this song I’d recommend “another man’s grave” outdoor session is pretty good, really captures his emotions.

songs such as Stronger Than Dead, Hell and You, The Weight, Different Anymore, and Liars Club (Demo Version) are all great next-stepping stones. most of his songs are great as studio versions, but he shines live.
he also has more humorous/ fun songs. many of which are very very dark (to the point that even one of the ones i recommended is from the point of view of a serial killer, i won’t say which). other songs are as recommended by others Murder at the Bingo Hall, I’m Crazy, Husband, or Dahmer Does Hollywood.
Quiet as a Rat, is the song that got me into him when it first released, i got the music video as an ad and immediately tumbled down the rabbit hole. it’s got a great message, if it’s not bitter. definitely recommend watching the music video for this one.
i missed his show recently bc of Covid, really hoping to see him live sooner than later.
please continue to dig into his work, it’s transcendent.
I'm happy to so someone reacting to Danny's music, saw him live last month with Gogol Bordello, he's got really amazing stage presence. "Another Man's Grave" and "the Dreamer" are similar to this song and I would recommend them.

So back in 2014, my band was lucky enough to play with Amigo the Devil at 924 Gilman in Berkeley Ca. We were absolutely blown away by his sound and presence, and on top of that he was an absolute sweetheart! He’s still one of our favorite artists and we hope to see him again soon!

I've seen Amigo the devil 3 times now and there was one of the times he was at a Brewing Company and during the last song some 200-pound assholed barreled through my friend and she started having a panic attack Danny personally stop the show to see if she was alright at the end of it while they were cleaning up I thanked him and shook his hand and had about a 30-minute conversation about bass guitar with his bassist as I am an aspiring bassist myself I just don't think that's an experience you can get from a large-scale stadium experience there was really no stage there was a bit of a platform less than a foot off the ground in the corner of a grimy back storage room of a Brewery it was very intimate and very raw I've been to hundreds of concerts but this one will always be undoubtably my favorite
When I looked up the lyrics the line was "Rot like a dog" but in this version he says "rot like a dove" which I think is a tragically beautiful juxtaposition, where doves are often thought of as symbols of purity to be contradicted with the word rot is great wordsmithing.
Danny is one of the nicest souls I've ever had the privilege of meeting. Seeing him live, you'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll get drunk off beer and love! Hell, I even have his logo tattooed on my leg!

I admire your willingness to acknowledge emotional bravery. It's a strongly emotional song and you honestly acknowledge it as so. I say this because that's how I felt it as well. There is a lot of surprisingly mature emotional reflection here. You just kinda have to nod and say "Ok yeah man".

‘First Day of the End of My Life’ is super dark, and I would assume from Amigo’s delivery, very personal. For one that’s kind of fun, ‘Murder at the Bingo Hall’ is pretty great.
There are very few artists who move me like Amigo.. Brent Smith from Shinedown maybe? But Amigo moves me like no other... I feel every word
