That blue and red Dodge Charger at 11:41 sounds exactly like a Corvette C7.R.

WwHhHaAaAttT iIIissS uuUUppPPp fffFRrrReEEeDDddD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great to have you back. Since you're a huge Corvette fan, did you ever think about joining "Spec Corvette"? It's a racing series with only Corvette C5's and C5 Z06's.

Hmm.... this is a little misleading. Having worked on two race teams... one amateur street stock team and then a professional NHRA team (top fuel, nastolgia funny car, and nitro) lots of hidden costs you don't mention. If anyone wants to be competitive, just know you'll need WAY more than mentioned in this video. WAY WAY WAY more.

I think his intent was to say that you can get "into" racing and I don't think he's saying you can "be competitive" as a pro in the sport. I like the fact that he's promoting the enthusiasm of racing and getting people jazzed about the sport for low initial investment.
My dad used to build AA fuel Rail Cars in the 60s for NHRA and we were competitive in multiple SCCA classes when SCCA mattered. I would do the lemons because it's the spirit of how racing started. It reminds me of SoCal guys in flat head fords running 32s at the salt flats with a big offy and a header and then driving it home. I think most racers can relate that this is how this all started and lemons seems to capture that low cost entry for people who can't drop 100s of thousands to get started in competitive racing as Fred says in this video.

      Hi Tnerbsg8134,
Jimrichards6528 hit the nail on the head.
This video was meant to be entertaining and cover the basics, not an "all inclusive" deep dive into every possible hidden cost. Apologies you misjudged my intent, but I don't think I made any statements about being a competitive racer, the video being all inclusive on casts, everything you need to know, or to be a pro racer.
To be clear (as stated in many of my videos), my intent isn't (and has never been) to be the fastest driver out there, but rather have the most fun, safely.
Anyone looking to be competitive or to be on a "pro team" as you put it, shouldn't be getting their advice from youtube, and are honestly not my target audience. Even in Lemons, to be competitive you need to race many races, fix all the stuff that breaks, and slowly get your car to a solid reliable state (no amount of testing will do that for an endurance car), while also focusing on building up your driving ability over time.
      Hope that helps clarify,
      -Fred
