Kym, I've been following for a year or two. You have exclusive access to the F1 world which provides great insights on race weekend videos which I love. But these filler vids with 13 minutes of speculation and assumptions, with an ad rammed in the middle are a real drag. I usually get a couple of minutes in before realising "oh, it's one of those vids". Keen for more travel vids. I watch them with the misses and kids (who don't give a stuff about F1). Unfortunately though, we're probably not your average punter!
NEVER EVER buy a vent mounted Quad Lock device for your phone, or you will immediately break your vent like mine. Quad-lock you owe me a vent for my Cayenne GTS. I didn't want any sticky residue on the dash! What a mistake!
A couple of days ago I watched a YT video about Charles Leclerc doing two flights in a French Airforce fighter jet and I had to wonder what Ferrari thought about that.
Historically Ferrari have always said no other dangerous activities. However, Kimi used to just ignore that clause in this contract… In this case Charles will have always been with people who know what they are doing to ensure he is kept safe.
@@miltonbrownrigg8409 Charles made a Tandem Skydive In 2020 I think and Ferrari was very unhappy when they found out. Many years ago I had extensive contact in the Skydiving world as a jump plane pilot and all the Tadem Masters I knew were very professional and safe. I knew an F16 Pilot that had to eject on a day the surface winds were 30 MPH and he was uninjured, but he was a highly experienced Skydiver and knew how to handle the situation.
Regarding Carlos and a clause "can break contract if other top teams wants me" is that really "breaking" a contract when it is written in it? Is it correct legal lingo or is it really just "ending" the contract? English isn't my native tongue so I'm curious. Great video as always, cheers from Sweden. 👍
Hi there! So they do actually have different meanings. Breaking a contract occurs when one party fails to fulfil their obligations in the outlined agreement. Whereas ending a contract happens when both parties agree to terminate the contract due to reasons such as the contract being fulfilled or both parties agree to terminate it early. The main difference between the two is that breaking a contract is considered unilateral and unlawful. This causes disputes and consequences. However, ending a contract is usually lawful and mutual. Thus avoiding conflicts as a result. Hope this helps, cheers!

KYM: great vid as always and thanks for the info, but QUESTION: as Lewis has been driving such an awful car it has been speculated that Toto was so upset with his departure that Mercedes made no attempt to modify (in a large way) his race car all year . . . no deliberate sabotage but no major improvements (as in "why bother?") Possible????? seems like it.
I am absolutely certain driver contracts have mutual termination clauses in them - certainly at the top end. LH terminated his contract with MB this year shortly after signing the "extention" but, IMO, activated his exit in an unprofessional manner. MB learned about it via a 3rd party. A professional would have announced the move to his contracted employer first and after an agreed lapse of time made the new plan known thereafter. TBH, LH was already in negotiations with Ferrari even before he signed his extension with MB ..... LH's negotiations with Ferrari were long in the tooth, probably a year if not more. I am of the belief that LH acted in spiteful bad faith toward MB as a "revenge" for a "poor car". I do not believe that MB contracted to LH a championship winning machine. MB, wisely, just took it on the chin because the fall out of any counter action would be more damaging. Karma is a wierd thing .......

The one thing I can’t understand is if a driver or sportsman is on crazy wages each year is how are they paid. Is the money paid to the manager or spread over a year and paid directly into his bank account.
Why to the manager? The payout is handled by a tax expert, wherever they live, whatever way they can pay the least tax. Outside Monaco, probably to a company owned by the driver. (If they want to buy a car, the company would buy/own the car. And minimize taxes...) For drivers who live in Monaco, directly to the driver to the driver, as income: NO income tax.... (lump-sum or staggered doesn't really matter)
The money would be deposited into the account of the drivers choice. I don’t remember which team it was but Alonso was being paid every month and I would think that would be the norm.
Why is Ferrari giving up their bid to win another championship ? Giving Lewis a seat next year is the worst judgement and strategy I have ever seen. Lewis has less than zero chance of ever winning another championship never mind another race. Ferrari, what were you thinking ?
Drivers and teams dont need outlandish 'no red smarties' riders in contracts, as everyone that needs to know, knows the details of the contract. Those kinds of riders, famous with musicians have a reason, and its usually safety. Musicians have these contract riders with the promoters or event houses they will work in, as a casual way to find out if those they contract with at a site have actually read it and will follow it.
