I have had people scream at me for flipping for pike next to their docks... that's my water! You can't fish it! "Go call the game warden, meanwhile get lost" and I keep on fishing.
I was on a small lake that has one point. I was working it when a couple motored right where I was casting and setup. I just gave them a look and the guy told me he discovered the spot and it was his and he could fish it when and where he wanted. His wife agreed. I had a lot to say but decided it would be a waste of breath and I was there to enjoy myself and didn't need the drama. Meet some good people fishing, and some real turds.
i get it guys, but next time you have an interaction with an old timer like that, just let him have what he wants and you might make a friend, maybe he has some hotspots to share once he realizes he can trust you. He could be a veteran. There was a time when the country was great( not now obviously) and this is how you would handle a situation like that. Lifes short but his might be very short. if we all think of others you dont have to think about yourself, because everyone else has your back. Try this and I guarantee it will be better. Happy fishing.
Lived on a lake one time and built a great brush pile. Every weekend for a month a family parked on it and fished toward the bank😂 Whatta ya gonna do? Fishing kids rock!!!
Old guys fishing have different rules. Things have changed. Back in the day others respected if a person did this because usually the only ppl fishing were the ones who lived at the lake. So many more ppl now that that rule no longer applies but these guys have been living by that rule for decades, so it is very hard for them to change. My father was like this, he lived on the lake and everyone that lived on the lake had their respective areas even though it was a public lake. So try not to be too hard on this gentleman. Cut a little slack sometimes it’s just very hard to change.
Back when we'd tie a jug to a weight to mark a spot, we knew back then it wasn't ours. Did the old man really haul a bunch of brush there? If he did, he still doesn't have cause for complaint.
Not sure what state this is in but in our state it's against the law to place anything in a public lake for any reason, including building artificial fish habitat of any kind. Likely the same or similar laws / regulations in most states for public waters.
i used to bait catfish fish holes , an had pretty good luck when fishin that spot later , but if i showed up & somebody else was on it , i wud just leave & go back n a while because most were bass fishin anyway 😎
From your video, I didn't see a big altercation from the old timer. At the end he pulled up next to you and fished his pile. You guys are the ones that need an attitude adjustment and respect your elders.
I don't think people should be allowed to build houses on a lake front. It cuts other people out from being able to enjoy these places and also destroys the scenic beauty.
I've run into tournament bass fishermen who thought they owned the lake . I taught them otherwise. Just because there's a bass tournament going on doesn't mean shit on a public lake..... not everyone is fishing for bass.....
Once a brush pile goes into the lake it becomes public property.
Agreed.

If he placed all that brush in the lake he should be charged, then watch him change his tune
You sound like a 12 year old.
@@markfeland2285 its legal to do so here in Louisiana in most bodies of water
I can’t believe that people think that it’s their brush out. It’s a public lake .
It’s not even legal to do that in a public lake .
it's like garbage, once he deposits it in the lake it becomes everyones.
Oh you're the one who put brush in the lake that cost me 4 lures, glad you're here with my cash!🎉
Lmao 🤣
Fishing lures are wayyyy over priced so it's a clever way to fill your fishing box . I'm sure this is nothing new.
Placing a brush pile in a body of water is illegal in most states
Most states yes but not here in Louisiana i guess
@@rltdoutdoors Buy a pair of fins and face mask and help yourself to some great lures. 🙂

It doesn’t matter what imaginary rule is made-up by entitled lake house owners, when it comes to public property.

Not sure if he did or not. Seen about a million people fish that same brush pile for years
@@rltdoutdoors okay, never heard it called a brush pile before. Old men can be kind of funny and now I turned into one. Happy fishing.
@@MrDavidknigge im not long behind, time moves to quickly fish on man
Ive seen people lay Christmas trees on the ice with with weights tied to them and when it melted they would sink.
Why is his private brushpile in a public lake? When he dumped it, it became public domain. Sorry Kevin!

Only way someone owns water if it's on there own property..and if someone is fishing in a spot it's called common courtesy to not fish there
