My father went through something similar. The home was located on a cove. The homeowner tried to claim he owned from the 2 points inward. My father told him, where the water begins your property ends.
You can call the cops on them for harassing you while fishing. There are laws in some places that specifically apply to such behaviors (hunting and fishing harassment). Sure, those laws are intended to stop activists from getting people to hunt or fish but how do we know she isn't one of them who has a gripe about him taking fish? An investigation can be made and she can be charged with disorderly conduct for her behavior if it doesn't meet the definitions of those laws.

This is a symptom of a much bigger problem. Have you noticed the amount of people who just cant help, but to jump into someone else's buisness has gotten higher these days? A lot of people seem to not be happy unless they are somehow in control over another person's life. I used to work for a lobster fisherman who fished near shore. He once told me that people used to call and complain that the lobster buoys were an eyesore. This was back around 2000. Karens are timeless.

Same thing happened to me this past summer. I was fishing waist deep in a pond(a PUBLIC POND). A textbook Karen comes out of her house and says I'm in her water on her side of the water. I ignored her and her 15 minutes of Karen-rant. Karma was on my side that day. She calls the cops on me. So, the cops come and I watch them talk to her, then begin to talk louder and louder at her explaining that she doesn't own the pond, nor does she own a section of the water.

Actually there was a violation, at least in most states. It is illegal to interfere or harass a person that is fishing (so long as they aren't violating any law.) It wouldn't be worth bothering a cop or warden about but if Karen called the cops I'd be sure to ask them about the regulation that prohibits interference with fishing.

When I was growing up if you saw someone fishing you'd ask "catching anything?", or "are they biting?". Nowadays, there's so many people that make me miss my parents and grandparents because they raised me to be considerate and respectful of others. I had an encounter with a Karen who thought she had exclusive rights to an elevator I've been using for 24 years. Some people are so over the top and so full of themselves, it's truly pathetic.
I've been at my job almost 16 years . Iv sat outside in the same spot against the wall . Ne girl in management about 5 years ago told me I couldn't set out there anymore .she didnt like it ...so after she brought my human resources manager out .I told them I've been sitting there since she was in middle school leave me alone... 5 years later I'm typing this leaning against my old spot in the sunshine 👍
Reminds me of my late grandmother. She never really cared about how close the fishermen were to the dock, she just wanted to argue. After 40 years of doing so with my grandfather, she no longer got the same catharsis from those spats 😅
We have a man-made lake in our subdivision and every year hundreds of ducks come looking for warmer lands. One of the neighbors feed them and some others pitch in to buy their food. One of these ladies was trying to get the cops to make him to stop feeding them and to remove the ducks, because they were invading our property. They just laugh and left; she called Wild Life (whatever) agency and she was told that they were a protected specie. This past spring, about 20-25 ducks decided to move permanently and they are now locals. We never heard from her again .

This is great. As a lake property owner, i had the opposite experience. I was on my raft with kids and a boat started fishing under the raft. I simply and politely asked for space and they freaked out. Even reported me for fisherman’s harassment. They treated me like I was this Karen claiming to own the lake. I love your kind and calm. A good reminder to all anglers that common courtesy goes both ways. Yes- it’s legal to fish there. Yes. It’s legal even though we were swimming. But it’s also within my purview to ask for courtesy. People are bizarre.
What the? It's really OK to cast your line like that at someone's raft while they're swimming? I mean a hook can't do a ton of damage without hitting a really soft spot(maybe an eye?), but still seems weird to me that someone would do it.

Actually there was a violation, at least in most states. It is illegal to interfere or harass a person that is fishing (so long as they aren't violating any law.) It wouldn't be worth bothering a cop or warden about but if Karen called the cops I'd be sure to ask them about the regulation that prohibits interference with fishing.

When I was growing up if you saw someone fishing you'd ask "catching anything?", or "are they biting?". Nowadays, there's so many people that make me miss my parents and grandparents because they raised me to be considerate and respectful of others. Some people just can't stand seeing someone enjoy life, instead they project their own misery.
At first I thought I was gonna hate this due to the angler's initial apology but thankfully he turned it around !

I had an encounter with a Karen who thought she had exclusive rights to an elevator I've been using for 24 years. Some people are so over the top and so full of themselves, it's truly pathetic.
I've been at my job almost 16 years . Iv sat outside in the same spot against the wall .
Ne girl in management about 5 years ago told me I couldn't set out there anymore .she didnt like it ...so after she brought my human resources manager out .I told them I've been sitting there since she was in middle school leave me alone...

Reminds me of my late grandmother. She never really cared about how close the fishermen were to the dock, she just wanted to argue. After 40 years of doing so with my grandfather, she no longer got the same catharsis from those spats 😅
We have a man-made lake in our subdivision and every year hundreds of ducks come looking for warmer lands. One of the neighbors feed them and some others pitch in to buy their food. One of these ladies was trying to get the cops to make him to stop feeding them and to remove the ducks, because they were invading our property. They just laugh and left; she called Wild Life (whatever) agency and she was told that they were a protected specie. This past spring, about 20-25 ducks decided to move permanently and they are now locals. We never heard from her again .

Reminds me of an expression my nanny told me years ago... if you are walking along and minding your own business and a dog approaches you and starts barking at you, do you get down on all fours and bark back? This is great. As a lake property owner, i had the opposite experience. I was on my raft with kids and a boat started fishing under the raft. I simply and politely asked for space and they freaked out. Even reported me for fisherman’s harassment. They treated me like I was this Karen claiming to own the lake. I love your kind and calm. A good reminder to all anglers that common courtesy goes both ways.
Yes- it’s legal to fish there. Yes. It’s legal even though we were swimming. But it’s also within my purview to ask for courtesy.

What the? It's really OK to cast your line like that at someone's raft while they're swimming? I mean a hook can't do a ton of damage without hitting a really soft spot(maybe an eye?), but still seems weird to me that someone would do it.
