Mmo is great for airplanes also. When people ask me about putting a cleaner in their diesel, I tell them just grab some mmo and it'll clean after a few oil changes better than any other cleaner on the market and does great at cylinder lubrication.
I have been using Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas of my car, truck, and lawn mower at every fill up since 2016. Everything is running great, and my car gets at least an extra 1.5 to 2 more miles per gallon on the highway. Several years ago, my 2002 Chevy truck had a loud lifter ticking noise. It was a quart low on oil, so I added a quart of MMO to the crankcase. Soon the lifter ticking noise disappeared. I drove the truck about 400 miles and when I changed the oil, it was filthy. This was telling me that the MMO was removing some of the sludge out of the engine. You were lucky to find four gallons of MMO in cans at a flea market. I was wondering how long the shelf life might be on MMO, and I assume it is still good. About a year ago, I saw an empty gallon can for sale at the Daytona Beach, Florida, flea market. I was tempted to buy it as a conversation piece, but it was very rusty, so I didn't buy it.
They really do need to fix that problem. I had a smaller bottle just do that to me last month. When I came across these metal cans, I jumped since I can now use them to transfer the newer bottles over to it once it's empty.
I put 20 oz per hundred gallons of diesel in my Detroit diesel. It increases MPG from 5.6 mpg to 6.0 MPG. Which is an extra 60 miles per 150 gallon fillup. Or about $15 dollars per day on a 450 mile run.
Mechanic In a bottle. That's what I was told 30 years ago. I've always kept this in my garage. I put it in all types of motors. Now I'm primarily using it in engine oils. I agree it would be better used in diesel fuel then gasoline. In my opinion there are better gasoline additives for today's more modern engines.
It does talk about diesel that it will raise sulfur 1PP if used as directed but triple the dose to get your sulfur up to a good level in 05 Dodge 5.9 cummins and I add a quart in my oil before my oil change and I drive a 100 miles and drain my oil to cleans my motor up from the inside !
Newer diesels are very picky, because they're very high pressure. Older diesels were 3000-4000 psi. Newer diesels are much higher (don't remember the exact numbers, but call it 20,000 psi).
I run a product called Archoil. It cleans the diesel system from the injectors, turbo and dpf filter. I have a 2016 Ram Ecodiesel i use for road trips.
They fill the tanks differently though out the year and just don't tell people. That's just summer vs winter mix. People would ask questions about #1 vs #2 thinking they couldn't use it.
Offroad red fuel is the best way to go. You'd never know in mine what I use, I keep pouring transfluid and oils in the tank so it's always a brown/black color ahahaha.
Got a 2012 bmw 320d with 140,000k on the clock. Don't think it's been looked after. Think this would help in every oil change and every fuel top up? Problem is its expensive in the UK 🇬🇧
I am not sure on that big of an engine, but I would add it to the oil when you do get it changed. The intervals for a semi is different than a traditional vehicle.
@@WareWolfMoonWall I've tried both and noticed better starts and smooth running with hotshots. Also I would occasionally add mmo or sea foam from time to time after fuel filter changes.
Marvel Mystery Oil is the greatest thing ever. I pour it on my Cheerios every morning.
Smells good too!
Wintergreen flavored Cheerios :)
Try a splash on your oatmeal sometime, you wont be dissapointed!👋🤠
Make good aftershave too.
Mouthwash!
Been using this oil as far back as I can remember.. probably started in the late 60's or early 70's.. Great stuff..
I like it better than Seafoam

Agreed! People around here seem to have forgotten that it works very good in Diesel engines.
The Cherry flavored fuel has 200 ppm sulfur I believe.
I've use it in my 2017 Duramax
Great product.
Did you notice any changes in performance?

MMO is oil-based. It should keep indefinitely.
If you clean a really dirty engine all that engine debris and sludge can clog up the oil pump and your engine will seize or explode.
I perfer MMO in the METAL CAN, I can't tell you how many times the large plastic container cracked and woosh all over the place.

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs why do you not like me ?
Not only are the plastic bottles flimsy at times, the cap is made of two pieces, and can be very hard to remove sometimes.
Yes.....I've added even to my chainsaws plus my 4 wheelers really helps on the carburetor issues keeping clean
I agree- I tend to have less issues with the items I put it in.

Right on! I get about a 3 to 5% increase in fuel mileage with mine.

Yes. Not enough to harm modern diesels, and certainly it helps the older ones.
Yes great to also works super and much more than 91 octane gas and unstuck a super tight motor that stuck to! Does 100% lube too !
That stuff is goid forany things/uses.As always thanks for the video Erik,David.

@@leadnsteel1428 How do you know for sure it cleans the injectors, turbo, and dpf? You took any apart to show it?
It's written on their website.
Is it? I just noticed that a lot of people had asked me about it, and it is not on the new bottles.
What ever happened to Diesel #1? havn't seen that stuff in decades!

It could definitely help, I can't help the price though
How many ounces do you recommend pouring in the engine oil for a 2000 ram with a 5.9 Cummins
I would see what they recommend- It can vary on diesels
Marvel’s website says not to use in post 2007 diesel engines and to us marvel ultimate ….thoughts?
Newer diesel engines are more complicated that the older ones. If they are recommending it for 2007 and newer- I would do what they say
How much do you recommend putting in a pre def Cummins dodge?
I use 2 oz per 10 gallons.
Hi i was wondering if you can add this to a 2019 chevy Silverado 3500 diesel engine?
Yes, it's 100% safe.
How about emissions, soot cooker is sensitive to contaminants.
No issues when run in the correct amounts. It's simply a lubricant for the pump and injector.
Including adding to the crankcase oil?
I put it in both the fuel and the oil.
How often do it on semitrucks

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs thanks
I use it in my air tools also
Good to know- I am sure it would work well in them
Good air tool lube.
I use this, and hotshots everyday diesel to my fuel
@@WareWolfMoonWall I've tried both and noticed better starts and smooth running with hotshots. Also I would occasionally add mmo or sea foam from time to time after fuel filter changes.
Anyone run it in a VW TDI?
Perfect for diesel engines!
I put little bit of 2 stroke oil in my TDI.
@@gulfy09 good call!
I just pored a bottle in my 02 7.3 powerstroke with a half tank..... Probably should have watched this first, but it doesn't seem I made a mistake. 🤞
You will be fine!
