I am a 74 year old Baby Boomer and have always been fairly active. I needed some way to be safely active and have some fun doing it! I've always been a bike rider, but now feel challenged to ride safely because of some balance and knee issues. My Lectric XPtrike was a gift from my husband and he even chose a seat with a back rest! I have had my trike for almost one month now and I LOVE it! I ride mostly with no-to-low assist, but when it comes to hills, or just needing to rest the knees, the throttle is wonderful. I rode to our local post office today and was stopped by numerous people wanting information about my trike. There is nothing...NOTHING, I would change about this Lectric etrike. We folded it, put it in the back of our Odyssey, and took it on a trip last week. I love my new fun way to stay active. THANK YOU to all who had a part in making this for us seniors! (PS: The headlight is plenty brite and all I need now is a pull carriage for my little fur baby!)
@@linh8997 I am just a tad taller than you and have major issues finding bikes that I can even get on. Have you tried this or seen one in person? How much would you have to "climb" up to get on it?
I bought a liberty trike for 1500. You can be as short as 4 ft 6. so far, I am loving it. Although it is very different from a two-wheel bike and will take some time to get used to. It is also not very fast. But I am 76 now and not getting any younger
When I first saw this trike I didn't like the concept, three wheels make for very tippy rides. But once you described the target user I changed my mind and now love that they're making something inexpensive for these folks. Great job Lectric, you're the kind of company I want to support.
Agreed! This trike didn't excite me until I heard about folks like David. You'd be surprised how many seniors are interested in the XP Trike because of the quality and price point.
BEEN SHOPING FOR ONE OF THESE FOR A FEW YEARS - after tons of research i chose this one for my grandpa and this is sooo bomb !! I test drove it and even tried to get it to tip on a turn BUT IT DIDN'T = SUPER IMPRESSIVE !! Head and shoulders above the competition !!
While my wife's trike arrived with a bent fender, Lectric stepped up and repaired the issue and assembled the accessories that came with the trike without charge. I have the 3.0 for myself and am very pleased. I will continue to recommend and purchase their bikes. I am now waiting for them to build a trike hitch for the back of my wpick up. I was in the market for an ebike and went into test drive the 2.0, but had received noticve that they would be building a new unit. I waited for the 3.0 and was so pleased I had waited (not that there is anything wrong with the 2.0). I mentioned to the sales manager that my wife was unable to ride the 3.0 due to balance issues. The sales manager stated that one never knows what the future holds. Well with-in less than a year the trike came out and we purchased the unit. My wife absolutely loves the unit. Great job Lectric.
Purchased my 1st trike exact same one you reviewed and I agree it does take getting used to riding. Thanks for the tip about hitting bumps straight on I was having difficulty with my driveway so this should help. Good review.
I'm going to buy one! I was at a tire shop last week getting my motor home inspected and the Lectric bike was sitting there for sale. I talked to the owner of the shop ,he said he let the owner put it there to sale. ONLY reason he was going to sale it is that his wife broke her back hiking and could not ride it. I rode it around the parking lot and told the owner of the shop I'd be back but I procrastinated and he sold it! I've been researching it, I'm ordering one soon!
Even at that price point, Lectric managed to make it drive both rear wheels and through a differential. This is a great development for people who want or need a trike format. PS: That’s pretty awesome Lectric gives new employees two ebikes! 👍
Something it seems that everyone misses is the Lectric XP Trike is the first one with the motor in the back VS a motor in the front wheel with no weight on it that many say doesn't work very well climbing hills, or taking off from a start, you get a lot of wheel spin due to the lack of weight on the front wheel on those other brand trikes.
Thanks for the info. I just ordered one because of affordability and I want to stay mobile. You made me feel more confident about my purchase and I can unbox this on my own. 😊
I've been looking at Ebikes and Etrikes and this one quickly became my top pick just for everything it offers, especially the lights. The other Etrike at this price is the Liberty Trike and it doesn't have lights plus they charge you shipping.
One of the things I love about my pevs that I have ( e-bike pedal electric and a Onewheel pint x) is just seeing how many miles you can actually put in these things. It’s fun to me to see how much miles I’ll be able to put on my bike. My work is 7 miles away so I switch off between Onewheel and bike.
We have one of these -- bought for my wife after she broke her shoulder. I have a Rad Rover 5 but the trike is a better grocery getter. We order our food online and then I pick it up with the trike. I've put 45 miles on it already and my wife hasn't even sit on it yet. :)
Hi yall back. Lived in Gainesville yrs ago..,gators I rooted for..these hillbillies wanted to kick my ass as gators whipped Bama. Only one w gators shirt on.... it was funny. . Girl was made to leave,,.went to apply 4 bar job.
My euro scooter is foldable and I had it since 2016 so I don't think this scooter is the world first foldable scooter. Have you ever tried the euro scooter and can you check one out for me and let me know where can I get lithium batteries that will fit inside the black battery container that holds the regular batteries it comes with and on their website it shows what it looks like along with other accessories it comes with. One thing I don't like is they don't come with lithium batteries and the batteries only last about 3 to 4 years. Thank you and I like your video I'm new subscriber and how you all have a good day take care
😢I want this so bad . I live with SSDI. I NEED SOMETHING SOOOO BAD LIKE THIS. ESPECIALLY THE FACT IT FOLDS UP . I CAN TAKE IT INSIDE MY HOUSE SO IT WOULDN'T GET STOLEN. I WONDER WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE IN BLUE ?!!!! I WROTE IN BIG LETTERS ITS JUST EXCITING!!!! MAYBE I'LL WIN SOMETHING SOME DAY.
My next door neighbour (84yo) bought one of these about 2 months ago. We are on third display, second controller, replaced all the cabling and second throttle. I have to say Lectric support is good (aside from slightly slow) when it comes to troubleshooting and dispatching spares, but the product is questionable at best. We are very concerned that once the warranty runs out, this bike will be expensive device to upkeep with constant breakdowns. HOpefully we can figure out off-brand replacement parts and keep it going for few years. I would strongly encourage you to consider other options. As a final note, this model was pulled off from Amazon, perhaps because of all the low reviews? Consider alternatives, save yourself frustrations.
I recommend a Schwinn trike and add a Dillinger - Bafang e bike kit. $1050.00 plus tax total cost and the trike is much better looking and a much larger rear storage basket. It’s 20 + mph fast also. The Schwinn rear wheels appear to be wider for more stability just looking at the video.
I purchased the Lectric XP Trike and am getting comfortable after a shaky first month, after delivery by FEDEX. I'm guessing the Fedex delivery person threw my bike out of the truck and damaged the 2-rear trike wheels and spokes. The fenders dug into the tires and the package was upside down. I'm hoping the rear wheels are NOT out of round. I took the trike out for two separate rides last week for a total of 12-miles. The Trike was ordered and paid for on 6/9/2023 and delivered on 6/23/2023. Today is 7/22/2023. The longer it takes, the less positive I am going to like my decision. On the positive side, the pedal assist is outstanding. It got me up a monster hill within my community. Coming back down the hill, my brakes also were exceptional but scary. You're sitting up high. Maybe a low riding recumbent Trike would have been a better decision...I don't know now.
Interesting they went with such a slow top speed. I see plenty of 20 mph top speed trikes out there, They seem less stable at those speeds when cornering and such, but seems safe on long straight paved surfaces. maybe let the user decide to unlock it at their own risk in the p settings?
Thank you for this. Do you have to pedal this one to get it going or can you just go straight throttle ? Why are you against plastic fenders ? I would think they would cost less and weigh less. Also plastic won't show an occasional oops in your fenders.
These lectric guys seem great and really do a great job all around...but, I live where the roads slant purposely for drainage and any trike I've ridden feels like it's going to tip over. There's no sidewalk so you're stuck in a slanted bike lane . Any suggestions there lectric- tricans.
I have the Lectric trike…ride it often. But it is a bit slow. I can’t get over 12 mph. The problem is..If I have to outrun a dog chasing me..I can’t. 15 mph would be better, 20 would be great. I wish it had a slightly faster gearing in pedal mode…and a bit more speed in the electric PAS mode. Riding around the neighborhood is good….but anything more than that is problematic. I carry mace for the dog problem….but a bit more speed available would be desirable.
Being disabled from a stroke a few years back, driving a car is out for me. Makes me too dizzy. I don't mind the slow speed limitation, but my biggest concern for this Trike is can this 500w trike climb a hill that is 15-20 degrees slope. I contacted Lectric but they were very vague in their answer and never told me if it could or not. That makes me very leery of this company already.
Rather then folded, it is better be with some suspension and belt drive. This is going to be used on paved road and in urban area rather than to put in car/truck to go on bike trails. Best if it was a recumbent. May have cost $500 extra, it would have long life and better value for money.
If it had the battery integrated I wouldn't want it. I like to be able to take my battery out store it somewhere safe and not set my house on a fire in the event anything goes wrong

No reverse on the XP. The trike is so light you have to set the brakes when you leave it. If the wind is blowing it will roll away. Pushing it is nothing.

You use a bike lock or use a chain with a lock. There are chains that come for muiltiple bikes, you can use one of these to secure both back wheels.

You need to take it out of the “beginner” mode if you want more speed.

Liberty trike can fold also and made in USA
Rather then folded, it is better be with some suspension and belt drive. This is going to be used on paved road and in urban area rather than to put in car/truck to go on bike trails. Best if it was a recumbent. May have cost $500 extra, it would have long life and better value for money.
Are there different seat sizes?
No offense but there are several electric trikes for sale under $1000. Mooncools 350 model and I believe it’s Viribus, both at $999
What can you suggest for a shotgun holder for sporting clays shooters?
Im sure they cut some corners somewere and I hope that that's not the battery
Or the motor build quality

Front basket may be modified for small kids sitting in it...
Is it me or do those rear wheels look really wobbly?
They aren't, it's very stable.
No front suspension
You folded it incorrectly. The front wheel folds inside the rear wheel even with the front basket fitted.
If you show this trike with baskets it should come with baskets. 73
I want 20mph uphill minimum max, but same price point!
$1500? you guys are nuts. that is a $500 trike.
Why don't you try higher wattage,like 2000,6000,10.000w.
At a practical price range and easy access to upgrade that motor 😏
I seen somewere that this bike has reverse assist , YES??!
No,just the forward pedal assist.
No reverse on the XP. The trike is so light you have to set the brakes when you leave it. If the wind is blowing it will roll away. Pushing it is nothing.
@deldrader5260 it's not quite that light, just under 80lbs. Parking breaks do help on a hill though. I own one and the bike is not light.
An option for a 1000 watt motor or bigger would be better!
