Pretty sure I saw the SeaVee at Grabbers on Sunday. Beautiful boat. Didn’t realize that was you or I would have said hello. We met very briefly at the Tipsy years ago. I’m a pilot and I was in Washington NC in connection with some SeaVee dealings last week lol. Cheers!
The fluid getting hot will overheat the pump and stop the pump. No steering will become hard because the fluid is hot. You need to check if the pump is the old model prone to overheating. Or maybe it’s just a loose connection. On Verados I always have an extra harness that I can bypass straight to the battery to check if the pump runs. I am in Hobe Sound. If you are still having issues come by and I show you how to bypass the circuit.
It is just the older model Mercury pumps that overheat if you even look at them wrong haha i have had it happen on so many boats now with the same pumps. The owner has already replaced the pumps to mitigate the issue
It was on Wednesday March 27, 2024. The wind wasn’t too bad. Probably blowing 10-15 out of S/SE. That made it doable. A north wind would have been a whole other story
Every trip is different and has a whole different list of potential problems/dangers. Experience and continuing to educate yourself are the best things that can be done to insure safety.
Ehh I don’t remember except but I probably burnt somewhere in the very general neighborhood of 200 gallons. And I have not tried the Seakeeper rides but I do have a boat with Zipwake (Albury) and then another boat with Humphree (Bahama) and both do those are the same thing as the rides. I really really like the systems
I never go around Whale. I always take Don’t Rock. These days on anything mid tide or higher I even run inside of Sandy cay right there by Don’t Rock Passage. Plenty deep in between the islands, hugging the little island closer to the treasure mainland.
I usually clear in Spanish, but the boats that I was crossing with were going to Grand so I just followed them all the way there and cleared there. I also had a little steering issue that I mentioned in the video so going to Grand gave me the opportunity to address that issue earlier
Need more post production editing with maps and routes and speed shown on screen if these videos are just about driving the boat... maybe throw in some local knowledge about where the shallow spots are etc. Killing me all these Bahamas videos and there's no fishing included.
Please make that video, I’m possibly headed to Bahamas in a month! Great stuff!
I will!
Yes. A video on how to read the Bahamian waters would be amazing.
I second that I live in Bahamas and boating it is my dream

Yep he was at grabbers Sunday saw him but he was pushing off the dock at the time
I wish we could’ve said hi! I’m sure if I saw your face and put a face too it I would recognize you

What date was this crossing? What were the wind speeds and direction?

You are a beast Nick. I would have turned around in the inlet. lol.
Haha my client needed the boat and I needed to get over there!! I also never felt unsafe once so it wasn’t too bad
Must be those elusive "invisible" dolphins jumping behind the boat. LOL !!
😂😂😂😂 when I was editing I realized you couldn’t see anything in the shot because they were too far away 😂 people must think I’m crazy haha
Watching all the way from Bahamas new into boating on my own in the island we rarely use instruments everyone just mostly go off of knowledge
What a kickass life you have man. Has always been my dream to run boats in Florida and especially to be able to run one to Abaco.
I have worked hard to make this life a reality and I found a way to make my passions my profession! You should shade that dream man!!
Absolutely and definitely takes hard work to get there. Enjoy all your videos Capt. Stay safe out there and enjoy!
Great run.. I know you done a good number of trips already.. but each trip can throw you a surprise.. and I think you're well prepared 🤙

Saw you on guana cay two days ago but you were pulling out then
I wish we could’ve said hi!
@@NickOlinde that where I live so next time you over I guess
For those new to crossing, I would recommend a PLB attached to the life vest as well.
Absolutely! Even for those experienced with crossing, I still HIGHLY recommend a PLB. You can never be too safe or careful when it comes to your life.
Great video. Suprised you didn't run the Don't Rock passage. Maybe the tide? Ran through there two weeks ago and had 5ft under the transducer.
Thats so awesome. I want to do that when I get moved into Fort Pierce. Awesome video. Thanks.
Let me know if you need any help with it!
@@NickOlinde Awesome. Thanks so much. I will.
Great video. Im surprised you didn't take Dont Rock passage over the whale cay passage. That boat definitely could have made it.
Believe it or not this is Don’t Rock passage. I almost exclusively use that.
Rick Flair would be proud of that whoo from time to time.
😂😂
I’m near Stuart in PSL. How much is your fuel burn? Did you ever try the seakeeper ride?

Do you usually go out whale or cross at don’t rock? I went over don’t last night at high tide and didn’t see less than 7

@@NickOlindecan you do a video or show me the line to enter treasure next to the South Coast and not through the pilings.
@@nxfedlt1 I absolutely can do that.
that was sketchy bro,,,, but you handled it like a pro
Sometimes you have to do what you have to do haha luckily the period was not very tight so it could be done safely. Uncomfortable, but safely.
Why not clear in Spanish? just curious and your content is great btw dawg

what passage did you take at whale? Did you go around or through Don't Rock?
I did Don’t Rock passage that hugs Sandy Cay (Sand Bank Cay)
Nick or someone, can you post a route map or chart of trip from Stewart to Treasure Cay ?
Nice 🎉
Thank you!
How to use the SOS feature and what does it do and who does it notify.? Is it reliable?
A video of proper navigation crossings and using instruments
How long did it take you to get there?
Be grateful and enjoy the ride, think how many people would happily swap places with you. No need to envisage, and empower, worst case scenarios.

B=best. 34&39.
I could not agree more!
Hows 39b vs 41 Valhalla compare?
