@jreca the guy I bought the seavee from owned an Onslow Bay 27 before. He said they are very similar. I used to see on at the marina and they sure do look nice! where do you fish out of?
@Mike-hb4pc I get 1.3-1.6 depending on the load according to the fuel management system. I have noticed I consume slightly more fuel than the total gallons burned on the fuel management system. SeaVees are heavy boats, which reduces fuel economy. If the spark plugs are fouled, then you are looking at 1.1 to 1.2. (all statute miles and not nautical miles). The book says to change the spark plugs every 300 hours but you need to change them every 100-200 hours. one engine had several fouled plugs at 210 hours. several trips before that I was wondering why my fuel MPG dropped. A Mercury shop told me they just replace the spark plugs at the 100 hour service.
@jreca i bought them at West marine but you can find them on amazon as well www.amazon.com/Plano-374010-Waterproof-Stowaway/dp/B00469AX4O/ref=sr_1_4?crid=93S06QWW0UOU&keywords=waterproof+tackle+box&qid=1689267322&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=water+proof+tackle+box%2Csporting%2C81&sr=1-4
What props are you running? I have the same set-up running twin 300 mercs with bravo two's and gain zero preformance with trim. Boat runs the best with the engines all the way down. Just curious about yours?
same props as you! I mostly use the trim tabs for the trim and trim the engines up. based on your feedback, I will try trimming them down. I will trim them down if it is very rough. where do you fish from? Do you like boat? We previously owned the old model 29 seavee with a single diesel for a decade. we loved that boat as well. I liked it more than the new model but the outboards are way easier to maneuver.
Great man. Sheesh. I’m gonna sell my chase 283 and get one of these bad boys.
I have that boat but without the coffin box. I love the boat. It’s a beast. We get about the same actual fuel mileage.
@brianchristensen3568 Nice! where do you fish out of? do you have the same engines?

What kind of fuel numbers are you getting with those 300's?
