Fun fact: When Mark Hamill was asked by a Twitter follower if he had any recollection of making this special, Hamill's reply was "I've done so many VO's over the years, there are projects I have no memory of... This is one of those projects."
That's the same thing he told me when asked him at the fandays convention.
It's a pretty common thing for prolific voice actors though; stuff just tends to get lost in the shuffle
It's like forgetting the embarrassing stuff you did at a party while drunk. You won't remember it the next morning and won't know you did it unless your friend shows you a recording of all the cringey shit you did the night before.
Neil Ross once mentioned that the fans know more about his career than he does. These actors are working nonstop i can only imagine the actors only know their notable roles

So we have a horrible movie with an inexplicably large budget, A-list voice cast, and connections to Scientology that was made on a 4 month schedule, aired once, and then virtually vanished from existence. Why does the phrase "tax fraud scheme" come to mind?
Because a large enough comapny/organization (eg. Scientology, Nintendo, Disney etc.) can claim a tax break for their products not selling much. Something relatively new, like the production company who was in charge of Rapsitte Street Kids, cannot take such a financial scar. So the animator and the producers can claim tax immunity and brave it, while the other guy gets fucked hard. Eight months too late and a literal answer for a rhetorical question, but here it is in the flesh.

Voices are usually recorded first, and then it's animated over. Actors are just given lines and a couple of images of their character. They were likely just shown the concept art.

Concept: Rapsittee Street Kids: Re-Animated. An actual animation studio takes the audio and reanimates the visuals! (And I don't mean the "reanimated" genre of videos that are collaborations or whatever like the Phineas and Ferb one, I mean a coherent, consistent style)
After the last few minutes of this video, I feel bad for the guy who got ripped off, so I'd love for his Christmas present one year to be his movie but animated by a competent studio :')

I can't believe this thing actually got made in an age when CGI has come so far. Mainframe produced 'Reboot' in 1994, and that series looks 1000 times better than this! Before that, they did the CGI for Dire Straits' 'Money For Nothing' music video, and as blocky as it looks, they looked 1000 times better than this!

yeah man its almost like the problem isnt "when" its made but "how", "why" and "by whom".
This.....this is why animation NEEDS as much time as it can get so it can actually look good. This is why shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe need over 9 months to make one episode. This is why theater production animation films need years to make. You can't rush animation in over 4 months and expect it to look good. Art takes time. If you rush animation, you'll end up with a film like Rapsittie Street Kids.
Also, I have no sympathy for the creator since he stole money from someone and has an ego big enough to think his work is actually good when he rushes his projects and treats people like crap.
PyroDanTheManiac I agree with you all the way. Hell, even one of CN's reboots, PPG is overly rushed with the biggest animation errors yet. But as for samurai jack, the creator takes the time to draw animation traditionally and beautifully. Animation is a challenging concept for anyone that would take months to create and maintain it without any mistakes.
But the animation in Steven Universe is lacklustre. I mean, I love the show, but there are so many errors and laziness and the storyboarders are so different in their interpretations of how the characters should look that it's obvious who worked on what. That shouldn't happen.

GirlBrony (Cringelord) Personally I think the Crewniverse spends so much time on intricate backgrounds and effects that the characters themselves suffer for it in the process. Also, aren't the backgrounds and initial sketches done in-house but the inking and sequencing done overseas by Korean animators? That might have something to do with the quality of the characters (ex. Connie's glasses disappearing between frames in some episodes).

The Great-Grandmother sounded so weird because for some reason, the audio files of Debra Wilson's voice acting somehow became corrupted, and they never bothered to redo the voices, and simply left it with that. That's how lazy the movie was.

Was it all stuff shat out by this guy at Wolf tracer studios, or did he enlist some novices to put together a convincing enough package on paper to keep the charade up until the final product dropped. Who drew the kids? Was "rapsittie" something they bought out from an independent creator with stars in their eyes and then completely destroy the idea with low production values, or was the concept of "Rapsittie Street" entirely put together for this project?
