More than likely they were rushed to include a reaction shot, and didn't think anyone would care either way. Even the master's can screw up from time to time. Famously, Alfred Hitchcock is a great example. In the cafeteria scene of "North By Northwest," a kid extra plugs his ears before Eva Marie Saint shoots Cary Grant. Once seen, it's impossible to un-see. How did Hitchcock ever allow that into the final cut? Who knows. Movies are overflowing with similar examples. All it takes is patience, and a keen eye, to start seeing what director's hoped nobody would notice.

I played defense and it's nervous having the opponents' burden because any miss is six points plus a field goal, and people are not going to like it because they trust you as a defense to stop the attack plan.
The worst thing about that scene, is Pacino's wrong reaction. They threw in a reaction shot, it just happened to be one that didn't make any sense. That's not the way anyone reacts to a severe injury! Another flaw in the film is Pacino firing the team doctor. He had absolutely no authority to do so. That was a call only the team owner could have made, and she had a better relationship with the doctor than she did with her head coach. Well... All movies have flaws of one kind or another. These two don't diminish the movie enough to stop it from being the best depiction of professional football in America.
Lowkey paying homage to Blitz. Blitz with Kordell Stewart on the cover was a big deal when this came out. Other than that, the shot should have never really been there.

Cap knew he was gonna get cut anyway by her so he blasted her for her poor treatment of his coach going out with a bang as Tony said to him he would fight for him and he returned the favor defending Tony and he tells her she doesn't know ANYTHING about the game only caring about money and her f word ego and threatening her 3:25 while Christina was in the suite with the other owners she remembered what Cap had earlier in the locker room screamed at her about only caring about money and didn't know anything about the game of football while he defended Tony fed up with her poor treatment of him putting her in her place

it is more about how everyone has someone to socialize with but she is all alone by herself - isolated and lonely. She is not a well-respected and cared-for figure in the movie.
It is the start of her ego disolving and slowly realising what this game used to be all about and dismissing what is not important. Later in that game each individual starts remembering and find themselves collectively in the flow and peaking their performances as a unit as well enjoying the pure spirit of the sport. Laughter increases and everybody enjoys themselves while dropping the burden of the business of football.
This movie was before its time. This movie would wreck the box office right now!
