Anyone who says the Program is "over the top" has never played D-1 football. I did, and this movie came out 4 years after I graduated. Still gets me hyped when I see it!! If you did not see it the Friday it came out (as i did) you missed the deleted sceen of them lying in the street in the middle of highway traffic. Some college kids tried to mimic the stunt & were killed. The Sceen was deleted the next day. Most realistic football movie ever.
Glad to see that four years in college served you well ... oh yeah ... Scene is the proper spelling. Last I checked ... you still had to be able to spell 3rd grade level words as a D1 College graduate.
I used to love this movie when I was a kid, it really captures the spirit of football. It brings back memories of when your all fired up ready to go out there to kickass and take names, you can even remember the smell of the fresh cut grass on game day. I would do anything to go back and play one more season, those were some of my best memories growing up.
Watched this religiously while playing high school football. I was a linebacker and Mack was definitely the gold standard for attitude on the field. Lots or pre-snap talking during preseason games and scrimmages.
My LB teammates were inspired by Mack and tried talking like him during the presnap. All it got them was 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and they shut up after that
By far the most underrated, under appreciated and least known sports movies ever made. Personally, I put this in the top 3-5 in ANY category of sports movies (youth sports, high school, college, professional) It transcends any of them.. Drama, comedy, motivational. I could go on but you get my point. Latimer’s character is a huge reason why this movie deserves a place at the head table with the other GOATs of this genre.

It cracks me up that “Alvin Mack” is “Stone Hands Featherstone” from Necessary Roughness. He went from a speedster receiver to a badass linebacker. So funny.
I tear up man. I’m 41 and remember being in highschool getting ready to go play college ball and think everything lattimer and Omar Epps said is truly why I wanted to play college ball so bad. That feeling of being with your buds having fun and then preparing for war. Where does the time go guys
Mack Intensity and Passion to play hard was just how I played. It was like going to war every snap of the ball. This movie come out when I was in high school and I used to watch it over and over. My son is now getting ready to start playing hard. I see the fire i had in me in him. I have not showed him this movie. Every play every nap I wanted to kill them all let the Paramedics Sort them out. If u play with that fire u never run out of energy or i never did.
Omar Epps is a athlete he played a football player in this movie and basketball star on love and basketball and a starting outfielder in major league 2. Respect
I used to create this team on NCAA but didnt over do it like others. I made them good enough to compete with the Power 5 but didnt have them just dominating unrealistically like many do. I definitely made sure Lat, Mack and the top guys where good though. Lol!
Back in college, the NCAA would send testers out and watch you piss in front of everyone in a trough. There was NO partitions when it came to testing time.
'Lattimer' I have lived with this last name my whole life, exact spelling has been rare to see. My youngest son started playing and we find out all the couches at almost every game talk about his name and how he's an aggressive defense safety ect. Never knew why until someone mentioned it tonight. Watching through these clips tonight, I've found my new fav movie and prob my son's new fav as well. Excited for family movie night coming up.
*I played High School football in the mid to late 90s; I played both defense and offense tackle; I love defense the most; ah, I miss those days...I wish I continued to play in college.*
I played defense end, and linebacker. I tried to play in college. However my left knee was complete crap by then. 2 ACL injuries in 4 years. I had to make a life decision then.
this what you say to your boyz before u go out .alright boyz lets put the women and children to bed and lets go looking for dinner i love that line lmao
Guys like Lattimer exist. I’m telling you, I’ve known them. I had a teammate who used to punch himself in the head if he struck out, and yes, he took roids. He literally had a dent in his forehead.
The best thing-when you hit a guy...no, it's killin' him. But you feel great. It's just him and you...and he's the one who's hurtin'. If you don't understand, you've never been a linebacker.
Nose guard too. Nothing like being faster and overpowering a center. Stopping the run or sacking quarter back. Been many a time myself and middle linebacker made some good plays together
This always one my favorite football movies I remmber my senior year in high the coach would let us watch some of movie before our night game as we was getting ready before game!! Brah this one of my favorite football movies …..made me wanna play college football
both lattimer and mack were in the 91 movie necessary roughness. Another classic football movie!

He played baseball, basketball, football, and ran track….in 90’s movies.

3-4 of these actors are also in unnecessary roughness which was made in the same Era.
You never be half the man your momma was. So many great lines
This had 90's written all over it and dint play towards all the clichés. Loved it.
The 90s college football experience. Nothing like it. My top 5 sports movies of all time.
By far the best college football movie ever!!!!!! No comparison's out there.....
Rudy is good but this is better. More testosterone
That's be's a comparison
Agree it's The Program then Rudy.
Waterboy?
It cracks me up that “Alvin Mack” is “Stone Hands Featherstone” from Necessary Roughness. He went from a speedster receiver to a badass linebacker. So funny.
Michael Kammer
A little easter egg, his father is NFL Hall of Fame DE Willie Davis!
Lattimer is Wyatt
I think a lot of the Timberwolves were also Armadillos if you know what I mean.
Also the dude that was in the bathroom the entire summer in the movie summer school
The fact that I'm not the only person who caught that featherstone and wyatt transferred from texas state to esu is AWESOME!!! lol

I miss it everyday.
Football isn't played like this anymore these were the golden years
same thing guys in the 50's said about 80's football and same thing guys in the 80's said about 2000 football
This movie was as authentic as they come about College Football. An absolute classic
this was my favorite movie when i was little, i used to watch this almost everyday
Any time I achieve something great........I celebrate it like Lattimer. And I always shout "Place at the table, whooooooooo"!!!!!!!!!!!
I always tell my friend who hasn't seen this movie that its the "Any Given Sunday" of college football. Just too real.
konatown5
Different characters tho and position. He played an o-lineman in ANY GIVEN SUNDAY
@BIGWORM 510 Leatherface too
@Englewood Frank21 he's in unnecessary roughness too.
Englewood Frank21 except he has an alligator
@BIGWORM 510 2003 remake.
The best Linebackers always have some mental issues.
Latimer played DE lol
Thomas Malthus 😂😂😂😂😂 JJ Wat 😂😂
I agree
You should know u made them
I do not have mental issues
best football movie ever.. wished they would of followed up with a part 2.. so many questions left unanswered
Everyone loves Mack & Lattimer but the Offensive Tackle was fantastic, perfect comedy breaks
I use to create Latimer and Mack on Madden 😂
Same!! Lmao
I still do bro! Lol
Same!

That’s bad ass!
one of the greatest football movies
Which is sad because it is so incredibly stupid.
One of the worst movies ever made
moncorp1 Inc htr

C Bo your fucked this is the best movie ever
One of the most underrated sports movies ever along with youngblood the hockey movie.
back in the early 90s when u could wear your jersey up around your chest and when every body wore neck pads the good ole days!!!!!!!
everybody was like brothers in this film i love it
i used Alvin Mack's line every game. "Lets kill them all and let the paramedics sort out the bodies"
Love this movie! I never get tired of it. Def reminds me of FSU.
I think whoever made this movie had some idea of the FSU "program" that forced Bobby Bowden out. ESU? Right.
+Carmen Blundo Same colors and everything...they play southern teams...
BIGWORM 510 you mean Miami was the best team LoL
In the 90s, car windows were made very cheap.
That's what they based the team off
"We're running doggies into the endzone and the trail runs right over your ass." As an oline coach, that has always been my favorite line.
"Hell of a pass, wish I'd seen it" -Every lineman ever
Grading Road for all those preening running backs, it's thankless, but it's so damn satisfying. Offensive Center '93-'98
Had to give you that 77th thumb brother, love this movie 👍
I reacted the same way Lattimer did when I got the part to play Mr. Smee in our high school version of Peter Pan.
M Gonzo “Yeah baby! Mr. Smee, place at the table woooo!”
Hahaha
I did too when i got starting catcher for our base ball team
Thats the best comment ive ever read
RIP James Caan :-(
My favorite scene. When the running back was like oohh shiit lmao 😂😂😂😂
GOD BLESS YOU!!!! I SAW THE MOVIE THE FIRST NIGHT IT CAME OUT AND 25 YEARS LATER, THIS IS MY FIRST TIME SEEING IT AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN, GOD BLESS YOU!!!
That spit thing still is puzzles me all these years later but, still one of my favorites from that time.
44 people did not make starting defense and have no place at the table.
Brad Steeples We do what we gotta do to play

Plus he ran track in Higher Learning.
Always will be one of my favorite sports movies.
I don't care if Latimer was on steroids. I get pumped every time I see a scene with him in it 💪💪💪
The movie was Florida State in that era....pure and simple...it's a documentary about FSU
The thing with Lattimer and Mack spitting in each others mouths is something 99 % of the world will sadly never understand
The guy who played Lattimer played the crazy offensive lineman on Any given Sunday.
Mr. Foster he played leather face as well
Yes. Haha. He threw the small alligator in the shower.
He's also in unnecessary roughness.
He was also in Batman 2
And zangief in the jean claude van damme street fighter film lol
I was 12 when this came out, and still watch it every couple of years.
This shit got me hyped before every game in high school! Classic football flick.
You ever hang out with the LB's in a college program? Dudes are insane!!
Same with d linemen
They hit harder in this movie than in college football today...

Football season 1994:

Lattimore is also Thomas Hewitt, he played Leather Face in the Texas Chainsaw massacre remakes
Wow

he was my hero when i was playin ball nothing like playin defense
That scene with Lattimer and Mack spitting in each other's mouth.
Just guys being dudes
The coach says he wants his veterans to speak so why does the freshman (Omar Epps) get to speak? He hasn't even played his first game yet!!
Jay Hysterio it's a montage
He wantee his veterans to start it off. Latimer took that honor.
Good point
Starting defense... A PLACE AT THE TABLE!!!
When EA Sports was making the NCAA Football game. Did anyone other than me create a linebacker named Alvin Mack?
I did
"Wooo. Yeah. Alright. Hit squad is in the house"
