Hi Linda, your chicken and dumplings looks delicious. The easiest way to avoid bones is to put a colander or wire mesh strainer over a bowl or another pot and run it through that way. I love making homemade broth.
You cook like my grandma when she was living. Looks delicious. I'm 62 so I can relate to hard times. I don't care what she made it was so good. Get yourself a glass of lemon tea.
Yes I buy knorrs chicken bouillon powder and it has 56 servings in each jar and beef bouillon they last the whole month for me. Now I will boil the bones and fat again with the veggie peels I save till I have 1 gallon bag full and can what I don't use for later meals. I just put together my canned chicken meat ,1 pint jar each , 2 chicken soup, bone broth brought it too a boil add 1 cup of egg noodles cook till the noodles are tender.
I like the way you let the water run a couple minutes before using. I do this as well. I am very conscience of preserving water and other natural resources by not wasting; however, many people don't realize that this will help decrease of some of the toxins that are especially in our older water pipes.
Hi Linda, I'm up wee hours of the mornings.Saw this video and my Mom would make them pretty much the same way except she used Bisquick. Love watching your video's. I do make them from time to time. Have a great day.
Oh I’m one of the ones that made dumplings out of can biscuits my mom passed when I was young so she never taught me me how to cook heck when I got married I just started to learn how to cook my daughter loves chicken and dumplings I’m going to try and make the dumplings from scratch next time I cook them thanks for your videos ❤️❤️❤️😞❤️❤️
Just a tip - add a tiny splash of vinegar to the pot when you start the bones and skin - it surprisingly helps extract so much flavor! Mines cooking right now after last nights roast chicken. Ill strain all that out and have such a nice stock for my chicken and noodles, rice or whatever. Anxious to see your dumplings - Im still watching! Thanks for sharing!
I talked to my (adopted) Dad about 3 weeks before my (adopted) Mom was sent to the hospital to be diagnosed with Diabetes 1 which was the same thing my birth Mom had at age 13. I wanted to make sure Mom was diagnosed properly. Meanwhile... we were starving to death, so I visited Grandma to ask what's Dad's favorite meal? This was it, but how did she make the biscuits? She said, "Got Bisquick?" Yep! We sure did! Lol. So I made it while Dad went to work on Monnday and I swear that he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a spoon and ate straight from the pot! Omg. He was hungry! So then I started cooking stuff that I learned from my time in foster care. My family loved all of it! Awesome! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Linda I’m in the uk on SS can you do some cheap casserole recipes so I can have my oven on once a week and then just heat in microwave as energy bills are sky rocketing here. Thank you and God bless you 🇬🇧🙏🏻😀
Great idea! Check out the Manicotti and yellow Squash cassirole I put videos out on they are great and also my Lasagna dish I made. There will be others
I've just recently discovered your channel and I really enjoyed watching you make realistic recipes. I'm also in North Central Texas so I feel your sister with the heat. I do have one question for you though I noticed you wash your hands in your dishwasher and then wipe your hands off that I don't ever see you rinse in the soap off. Does that bother you? Just asking. Thanks and keep up the good work God bless you
I make homemade. Years ago I would take flour tortillas and cut them in little squares and boil them with my chicken stock. They make pretty good quick dumplings.
Hi Linda....I find it easier to just strain it all to be sure no bones left in broth. You are a joy to watch.
Very true!

put a big bowl in the sink with your strainer...then pour the broth/bones into the strainer. So much easier than what you just did.
You would still need to get meat out of all that

Instead of having to cut the dumplings when you are eating them why don't you just make them smaller to beging with?
Good idea
Linda I was just thinking that you are putting to much in as you said so stop adding all the dumplings you are not going to have any broth.good luck.
