Do you still have your first guitar?
Yep!
yes
I am using it right now! Its been 3 years and i haven't left it alone for more than 2 days!
Dude I love your videos ❤
Yes!
Haven’t touched my first guitar in more than a year but refuse to sell it
*If it's part of you, if music it's part of you then you should keep it as a sign of what you truly love and care.*
dont. i sold mine... regret it. 13 years later.
I’m confused as to which is should consider my first guitar lmao. I bought a schecter omen but two weeks before that my cousin gave me his Yamaha pacifica. Didn’t really play the Pacifica much tho
@@Blob.fishmusic never rid of the schecter. I have my first schecter to this day and prefer it to most my other ones honestly.
Pretty much me lol
I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for continuing to inspire me and over a million other people to pursue music!
my 1st is about 3 meters away from me. touch it every few years. i get a new one each year, so i have 15.
@@commentfreely5443omfg that's a L.O.T of guitars
I'm 63 years old, have lived all over the country, and still have (PROUDLY) hanging on the wall my first guitar, a Japanese-made Ventura 335-type guitar. My parents bought it for me when I was 12 (1972), and I hated it, cause all my friends had strats and teles and solid body guitars. Today I love that we've both survived the journey, so far✌
335’s are incredible instruments, i’m a sound engineer, there’s technically nothing they can’t do, from obviously jazz and blues and other “classic” styles to modern day ambient and various kinds of rock derived styles
My first guitar was also a hollow body
RIP Tim. Know that your influence on Tyler caused a ripple in the waters. Think of how far your passion for music has spread, channeled through him, to millions of his followers, and inspired them to learn. Thank you for you performance down here, good Sir.
Now go take your place on the big stage, in the house band.
☁❤ ☁
I still remember the day my younger brother came to my house with his guitar and said “I want you to have this”- he passed away 3 months later due to cancer.
Then I start learning to play guitar and this cheap guitar is a treasure to me.
Wow, I never realized Cort guitars were more than 20 years old. Feels so good.
My first guitar was a 20+ year old Cort acoustic that my Mom played in college.
My favourite guitar is a cort duality 2, just under a grand and better team any custom shop out there
They had ads in guitar magazines when I began playing in the early 90s, think they were founded in the 70's or 80's
The cort guitar company has been around since the 60s,at least
Yep. My first bass in 1987 was an already old and beat up Cort pbass copy. It was in the possession of an old HS friend when he was killed by a drunk driver so I never knew what happened to it. But I do still have the Kramer I bought new soon after in 1988. The same bass we recorded at his home on a 4 track with, and still have those tapes. Stuff I hope to keep forever.
Prayers, love, and best wishes to you and your family brother. You inspired me to learn to play, and i just bought my first guitar a few days ago actually. I will definitely hang on to it.
Enjoy the journey man!
@TheJoJam Thanks man! I'm excited to start!
@Dominic Dager… I’ll share with you what I share with all my beginner students…. The guitar, like nothing else, is something that will only give you back what you put into it. Practice hard and have a blast!
@Alexander Winston I appreciate the advice haha! Gonna have to figure out how to read and remember these tab sheets and what notes are what hahaha its not really intuitive to me haha but we're gonna get it!
My first guitar actually ended up at a local music store and my wife bought for me for Christmas. It was a crappy Harmony I purchased through Fingerhut. In high school I had given it to a friend after I purchased a new guitar and then never saw it again. Then over 20 years later I see it in the music sites Facebook and told my wife about it and unwrapped it in Christmas that year. It was a cool experience.
Harmony is not a crappy guitar. Still have my electric and acoustic purchased at "Best" department store in the 80's they both still play and look great.
There’s something about harmony guitars
this video touched my soul
So sorry the loss of your uncle, man, my condolences to you and your family…
I've started guitar lessons. Starting on Acoustic for now, though I aim to mainly play electric. Let me tell you though, I love this thing so much. I'm keeping this thing until I die, and even then I'm probably getting buried with it
I started playing guitar about 6 months ago and had the same idea as you but 3 months ago I switched to electric. If that's what you want to do then don't wait, trust me.
Don’t start on acoustic go straight to electric it is not the same. They’re 2 different instruments with different limits. Get yourself a Squier trust me
@@jchristner82 that bullshit kept me from learning guitar at 9 because I got a classical when I wanted an electric. I couldnt play what the cool guys on tv were playing so I quit back then
@@Birtheater4545 i learned on acoustic for my first year and switching to electric was just fine, but of course it took like a whole 6 months to be able to adjust my playing style to where it didn't sound sloppy and messy through the amp
Start on whatever guitar you want! That being said, I would pick acoustic to start on because electric is easier to play. It's the same as learning to drive with a manual transmission. If you can drive a manual, you can drive an automatic. If you learn to drive an automatic and at some point need to drive a manual, it's going to be so difficult! Acoustic vs electric isn't quite that extreme but I would always say to start on acoustic. That's just my opinion though. Whatever you do, don't give up!
Hey man, I'm sorry for your loss. I said a prayer for your family. I love that Tim was an inspiration to you, and his son is playing too! Very cool. Good of you to make that trade. It may just push him into the next level with that bit of inspiration.
10:06 is a man feeling a strong dose of overwhelming joy. So happy you two were reunited! I still have my first, and it's a forever guitar for me.
We all need that someone to show us the way to music. It's my dad who showed me. Thanks, Pa.
Thank you Tyler for the story. Sorry for your loss. Uncle Tim lives on.
My condolences to you and your family. May you all find peace in the days ahead. He seemed like a very cool guy.
Thank you for considering me, but I am 64 years of age and only have Facebook, and UA-cam.
Did someone say you won something because it looks like someone was talking to you and then deleted there message
@@Zombie_13x33, was most likely a bot.
The nostalgia vibes are extreme
This was such a great video. Nice tribute man!
What a lovely gesture mate. Your cousin was so pleased. You're a very kind guy. Best wishes from the UK.
Im so sorry to hear about your Uncle, prayers to your family. You do for millions of people what he did for you and for that we are eternally grateful as an audience. Keep rockin
So sorry for your uncle. Glad you are re united with your first guitar. You inspired me to play guitar and now I have three years behind me.
This is the best guitar video I’ve seen. I have been playing for 40 years I’d love to find my first guitar. I grew up in Londonderry NH right in between Hudson and Derry. Sorry for the loss of your uncle. This video really touched me. 😊🤘
This was so cool to watch. Condolences for your loss. I'm happy you got your first guitar back. I also got mine back a couple of years ago after 20 years and it's what you said exactly - Home!
Congratulations on getting your first guitar 🎸 👏 😍 🥲!! Sorry for your loss
RIP Uncle Tim.
That jam with your cousin at the end brought a tear to my eye and raised the hairs on my arms - as much for the overtones of family, a tribute to Tim and passing/repassing of the baton - as it was for the music itself.
I still have my first guitar - sat forgotten and unloved in a cupboard for a few decades. During the unfortunate circumstances of the past few years with lockdowns etc - I got it out, completely refurbished it and gave it a new paint job. Brings a smile to my face to look at it on the wall and compels me to pick it up.
I'm not crying you are! No, all jokes aside, sorry to hear of your loss to you and your family. I send you all the positive vibes to you, my dude. I'm sure if there is an after life, he's incredibly proud of you.
Much love to you brotha.
That was beautiful, man. The tribute and the story about your first guitar.
Rest well, Tim.
My 1st was a Crate Electra Standard, a black Les Paul copy. Still have it over 20 years later! ...everything eventually got worked on or replaced lol, the only things original are the nut, bridge, and paint. 50s wiring, Gibson pickups, and stainless steel re-fret, it plays like a dream.
It's a nostalgic trip for sure. I still have my first guitar. A spanish guitar with a broken string that I need to restring soon haha. Congrats on your find Tyler!
Heart goes out to you, Tyler. God bless you and your family.
I'm happy for you! Great Jam at the end. RIP, Uncle Tim. Looks like he had a happy life.
My favorite is still my first guitar. It took me a few years to figure out that the one you learn to play on will always feel the best in your hands. It's a Fender MIM bought new in '96.
I wouldn't say that my first guitar is my favorite, because that's one of the guitars I build myself, but my first has a very special place in my heart.
My second Guitar which I cant play cause I have nerve issues with my hands and my fingers dont always work right is a 1993 MIM Standard Strat, best sounding guitar ever, also was made just before the factory burned to the ground the later guitars never sounded as good.
Awesome video! My first guitar was a prs se Santana that I worked an entire summer to buy when I was around 20ish. Still have it almost 20 years later. Sometimes the mojo is just right...and this one is still my main electric guitar.
My first "guitar" was a yamaha guitalele from over half a decade ago. I was still quite young and know nothing about music theory and scales and all that stuff so i assumed it was a regular guitar but much smaller instead of having a different tuning. It got given away by my dad during the pandemic to a low income family, but i dont really care since i already had a yamaha cg102 from 1 or 2 years before the pandemic plus its helping the poor lol
Congrats Tyler!!! Super cool you were able to get your 1st back and do something awesome for your cousin at the same time. Good on ya!!!
Sorry for your loss man. You're a killer musician and I appreciate everything you do! Btw, you're looking great by the way! 💪
This one hit me harder than I thought. My dad passed away a couple of days before this was posted and he's solely responsible for my love of music. He taught me all the greats. Granted, he couldn't play an instrument, his passing has revamped my interest in picking up guitar again so I can always play and be with him.
i still play my first guitar even though ive bought and sold several, this particular squier strat was perfect. and now that it's 11 years old it's sooo playable it's priceless
i also love my 2011 squier strat. I recently decided to mod it and it has become my favorite guitar
Much love Tyler. Continue to inspire, as your Uncle once did for you. Rest in peace Uncle Tim
Much love to you & the family man, sorry for the lose. Great video as well!
R.I.P. to your uncle Tim. I recently lost my favorite uncle as well. If anyone understands the feelings and emotions that you had making this video, it is me. My uncle and I had a really strong bond and I miss him a lot. My heart is with you brother!! Great video
Mine was a First Act but that didn't get me anywhere because it didn't last. Little cousins destroyed it. The first guitar I learned on was one my dad won at Cedar Point 😁
My condolences on your loss, sir. Keep on playin.
Hi, Ty. It's cool you got your first guitar back. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOURS! 🎸
I found my first guitar in my parents closet a few years ago. It was a red strat copy that i bought myself when i was 13, think it was 1997. The neck was broken and pickups had rusted because it had been in a garage for many years but the white plastic details had aged beautifully creamy 😁 So i bought some Fender pickups, new electronics, a rosewood fretboard neck and fixed some details. Now it's my number one guitar 👍
What matters is the body and the exact guitar loool. Feels nostalgic when you get it. My first guitar is a $150 handmade lespaul. Fast forward everything with it sucks. Hardwares all tarnished and green, action is 5mm high, pots are all not working/scratchy and the only thing that works is the pickup. Change the hardware and machine heads to gotoh, replace the pickups with Duncans, Set it up then plays good and feels good again. Fortunately it is a bolt on les paul so i can change the neck if i want to.
My deepest condolences brother..
But I am also glad that you found your First Guitar! The one that started it all!)))
It's amazing how much light those that leave us leave behind. Condolences on the loss. Thank you for all you do.
Sounds amazing,especially that Crossroads lick,Merry Christmas,Happy New Year!🤘🤘🤘
Wow that’s incredible
Sounded like he started playing look at what the light did now by matthew white and flo morrisey? i love that song, it makes me happy. Also, at the end when he and his cousin were playing "together", that was a very touching moment. Beautiful video and dedication to his uncle.
to me it sounded like all along the watchtower ngl 😂
my regards to you and your fam, i hope you guys continue to find the peace and strength to keep pushing forward. I pray for peace and love among you :)
Another great video, Tyler. Sorry for your loss. Tim will always live on in your memories and wonderful music. Remember the good times and keep on strumming my friend.
You should do a video where you get it all set up nicely or throw a load of expensive parts on it and see how good it can be
Seconded!
Man, I am sorry for your loss, but this beautiful video was something amazing to come out of it all. My first guitar was a cream colored no-name brand telecaster. I do still have it!
Yo one of the coolest videos I've seen from you bro. You have always inspired me and even better my justification for gear fever haha. Love your stuff man. You kill ot
Sorry for your loss Tyler.Thank you for making & sharing this video. great sounding guitar! also great jamming as usual !
guitar
My first guitar was $40 acoustic lol
Congratulation on finding your 1st guitar and getting it back. Thanks for the channel!
started 2 years ago and youve inspired me, thanks man
This whole video just had different vibe to it, I don't really know how to explain it. As always, great work, and I'm very sorry for your loss. May he always be remembered
I am so sorry for your loss. What a cool gift to give your cousin. All the best to you and yours. Loved that jam at the end of this video.
Glad to see you've been able to enjoy the blessing of close family bonds. It's a very rare gift in this era.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I lost one of my favorite Uncles almost a year ago. This just flooded me with emotions.
May his memory be eternal! So sorry for your loss, thank you for being genuine.
wow, Tyler, what a honest and real bittersweet video. Thanks for sharing
rest in paradise uncle Tim. thank you so much for your influence.
I'm sorry for your loss, and the only thing I can say is thank you for your videos and for giving me the hope to become a great musician. I think the best gift your uncle gave you is the ability to inspire others, for example me who has been following you from Ecuador for almost 5 years. Thank you for everything
happy for you man finding your first.
Well brother sad story and RIP Tim , however every dark cloud has a silver lining. I wish you and the rest of your family a great christmas and I look forward to seeing you and your cousin jamming again. Very cool experience for you both and inspiring to all those that have seen this , i'm sure.
Such a cool video and story to go with it! Loved the jam at the end. Wish I could give it 2 thumbs up 😁👍👍I still have my first. 1983 Conn C-Series LP copy. Looks eerily similar to the Cantrell Wino Custom 😎. God bless and rock on 🎸
Very emotional one, i enjoy watching and i appreciate you sharing this with us. Your uncle seemed like a great man, you definitely honoured him well.
Easily one of my favorite videos you’ve done!
Love you Tyler keep your head up.. you keep ours up ❤ rip Tim and thanks to his love for you we got the gift of you showing the world good music
I'm getting an electric here soon, not sure what type it really is but your videos are one of my many inspirations to start learning, I'm sorry for your loss and thank you for inspiring me to learn man
The switching you do from the rosewood to maple is one of the most interesting comparisons, and I wish there were more videos that did that
My nephew has my first acoustic, it was a crappy rouge but it made my fingers strong.. hopefully he'll really learn to play it one day and I can inspire him the way your uncle inspired you... music has a beautiful way of connecting us in ways words never could!
God bless your uncle, love never dies x
Rest in peace my friend and my condolences to you and your family. Man,, Uncle Tim's son looks just like him. Wow!!!
My first guitar was a Yamaha Pacifica. Was a great guitar but I got rid of it when I ran out of space.
About 5 years later i found it in a local studio as one of the house guitars. Was very beaten up but at least had found a new life.
I will never know what happened to my second guitar which was an epiphany 56 goldtop. I can't even remember what I did with it.
Thank you for sharing this! Really wholesome to see your reaction to playing it again! \m/
What a Great video Tyler and a Great way to Honor the ones we Love ! Would have liked to see the duo with Jack on the new axe, but nevertheless it was Awesome too see and hear !
Definitely make a whole jam video with him! Sound great
So cool that you are around the Nashville area! I was there a couple years ago and got to visit some pretty cool places! The musicians hall of fame museum was definitely the coolest! Got to see a couple of Hendrix’s guitars along with some of his clothing, also got to see BB kings Lucille and a suit he wore. I wanna go back soon so I can visit the Gibson garage and now gruhn guitars😩 thank you man for your vids!
my first guitar is in storage using the box of my newest guitar. it is not playble at the moment, but I refuse to sell it and intend to restore it! really sorry for your loss, man...
I have warmed up to your channel over the last couple years. As a fellow Tennessean and someone who lives in Music City, i would like to say that you represent us well. Though I may cringe a bit every now and then, your skills and content keep bringing me back. 😁 Keep up the good work.
I'm sorry for your loss 😢 but thank you for the continued inspiration. You make great content. Yes I still have my first guitar. I know, that, feeling, I get it when I think about playing my first still. She sits beside me all the time.
As someone who lives right outside Nashville It's so cool seeing you hit all the spots that I do, like Carter vintage, Nashville GC, Rumble seat, Ghurn's. you never know, maybe I'll run into you one day! Especially when you see you interact with the same people as I do!
this jam at the end was incredible, I'd love to hear more of it :DDD
Pray u guys have a beautiful journey keep working.. Hard I can see going far..
Love the color of your guitar looks so classy
This hits home. Hard. I just got my second guitar back. First was a cheap catalog acoustic back in the 90s. My great grandpa gave me a 12 string to learn on because it's all he had at the time. Learning chords on a 12 string was interesting. Anyway, I'll be spending the next few months restoring it to the best of my ability.
I don't know why but this is one of my favorite videos of yours I've seen to date!
I've been digging your commentary for about a week now I don't remember which video lead me your way, but I've watched each one that pops up on my feed. Finally subscribed because you present a delightful cadence. Thank you for sharing. You seem like good people.
Sorry about your loss brother he's in a better place now and he'll be at peace now with his friends and family
that's why guitar are not just an object , a guitar is a part of the player's soul , when you get that guitar back , you get a part of your oncle soul
I don't own a guitar, but I feel you, brother!Glad you could get your first one back!
Rock in paradise uncle tim, my condolences to your family Sir Tyler... 🙏
i hope you and your cousin (btw. he seems like a very cool guy) enjoy new and "new" guitars
Tim seems like a good dude. Rest easy, Tim.
Guitar did sound pretty cool. Gruhn's is a nice place. I went there with my dad a few years ago. The amp closet still looks the same.
Youre my idol man!! You have such interesting and entertaining content. Keep it up
