    I use it on a digital piano, and it is ALWAYS on. If you listen to any of the tracks I have on here, you can hear it every single one of them--every one of them. It's my little wave in, automatic, call and answer effect. Literally on everything.

    I took an audio engineering class and was really impressed with mid side recording; ver cool. And the electric guitar had Radiohead vibes, which the acoustic only confirmed

      Thanks! Mid side is one of my favorite things to use - it’s only two mics but sounds huge!

      @@terranautrecordings It was pretty trippy for everyone in the class to close our eyes, and the recording sounded like it was coming from wider than the placement of the studio monitors. What a great way to widen a sound!

    Hey this is great, cheers guys. I'm considering this for an acoustic instrument, I'd love to hear you guys do a more explorative extended session on the classical guitar - that little taste sounded great. Cheers

      Hey Anton - thanks for your kind words! We can definitely do something like that, maybe even with upright bass as well

    Hey guys ! good video, and good idea. I think it's very interesting how it sounds on guitars bass and piano. It seems that when micing you have to be kinda of extreme with the settings. I didn't like its effect on vocals that much, drums was interesting tho. I think it would be cool to try it on some samples or ambient recordings. Subscribed. And yes I would be interested in the acoustic guitar micing technique. :)

      Hey thanks for watching, we’re really glad you enjoyed!! Part of the reason why it had to be extreme is because I left the dry signal in, so what you’re hearing is really parallel processed, something we’ve been back and forth about keeping in but I think this gives a really practical approach to using pedals as outboard gear. Thanks for subscribing, watching, and commenting!

    you guys are awesome. I’d love to see how you mic up acoustics in more detail. Also thinking about setting up this EHX pedal with the EHX 8 step program.!

      Thank you! Acoustic guitar? Just a small diaphragm condenser pointed somewhere between the sound hole and 12 fret a few inches away (depending on the guitar, I like to move around a bit). From there, you could add another mic (tube mics are cool) and play around with the different positioning of that mic to get different effects (soundhole/bridge = more bass frequencies, farther away = more room, fingerboard = more finger noise, a figure 8 mic with the null point facing the guitar for a cool mid-side thing, etc) - Nick

    This is sooooo coool!
    To me, all but one. I didn't hear anything different when you used it on acoustic. Perhaps, connecting an acoustic guitar with an input jack on it would do the trick? or just put a piezo pickups on the saddle.
    Also, how about using the Attack/Decay on each drum kit? Like, record everything dry. and then each track, you'll put the attack/decay as a line level effect per track on the D.A.W.

      Thanks!
      The reason it wasn’t very apparent on acoustic was because I left the dry signal in when mixing, so the effect was really sort of slightly longer lasting sustain.
      And that would be cool, to add it to every part of the kit! I’m not sure it would sound that much different than putting it on the whole kit, because it would essentially be the same effect, but worth a shot! I could see this being a cool effect for just the snare or something.

    Doesnt sound great on non electro acoustic. I couldn't even tell if you had it on

    • @terranautrecordings
      @terranautrecordings  Рік тому

      I think that’s partially my fault, I included the clean blend, so the effect was really just adding in a touch of sustain! If I did it again, I’d probably only show the wet signal

    With all due respect, this video is a complete mess. Everything seems so rushed that it's hard to appreciate what the pedal can offer when from one second to another you're using it on a different instrument and moving the knobs of the pedal so randomly and in a haste. By the end of the video I was asking myself what the hell did I just watch.

    • @terranautrecordings
      @terranautrecordings  Рік тому +1

      Hey Bruno, for that reason there's chapters where we've organized the instruments so you can go back and re-watch :)
      If you wanted a longer, more concentrated video, I'd recommend a demo of this pedal, maybe this one from my guitar centric channel: ua-cam.com/video/IZTLVHTbd6c/v-deo.html
