Kimi Raikkonen used to famously wear a Casio, even when he was sponsored by Richard Mille. Great review, hope you're keeping safe. Looking healthy. Take care!

Very interesting review and comments below. This brings up an interesting topic, some watch brands are and became classics and will remain so for decades to come while others are "trends" which are great at some point but then may fad away as styles and trends move to new styles. I would put RM in the trend watches, I love the way they look and think they're great technological pieces so now let's see whether they can constantly innovate to keep up with new trends or whether somebody else will...
I don’t like this watch in particular, but Richard Mille makes some crazy watches. They are not for everyone, but neither is a Pagani. If I could afford one, I would buy an RM-11-03. For now I will stick with my AP watches.
In my opinion, no, I would never pay the asking price of an RM watch just because of its RM, if I had the money. However, I can understand the appeal of owning one, as it is more of a status symbol and to show that money is not an object, but I would still rather get a grand complication from Patek or a Greubel Forsey.
i used to be a hater. But when i went to the boutique and took hold/checked out the 67-01 extra flat. i noticed how light the watch was. it was really what people would say is "avant garde". u really have to give props to them for making such a light titanium watch with skeletonised movement. i m still not a fan of most of their bigger/louder pieces. but i still appreciate and respect the craft in it. Not saying its great value or anything; but people really have to check it out before making any statements about RM. Ive owned an RM30. Sold it before they blew up. Regret that as they are worth about 25k more than what I paid. I will say I loved the watch while I owned it. They are beautiful watches. Are they worth 100k? I wouldn't say they arent. Its just a different aesthetic than any other 100k watch. If you have the kind of money to spend on an RM youre never going to ask or care if its "worth it".
They are. Although RM buyers hardly ever care about the movement. My boss is a massive RM collector, and even he himself admitted that their "Customer Service is garbage, and the movements aren't worth it". Since RM manufactures all the parts (much like how Apple designed a special "screw"), it's quite difficult to even do repairs or service on them; since they require special tools. Further to that, considering my boss has been a loyal customer of theirs, they outright refused to sell him "rubber straps". I ordered a few aftermarket ones for him as a gift, for like 20$ from DhGate. Personally, I think they're too large for my wrist; the only RM that I really ever admired is the RM016 - which has a rectangular case and is somewhat wearable. However, in terms of overall quality and design, I'd rather buy a Lange. Kind Regards.
@@pedroneto1641 kinda but not this one. Volume wise I bet they sell a lot more vaucher movement watches like this rm010, probably find the base movement in other brands for sub $10k. @@ISOCZAR Ah ok, I thought you had complaints with the watch and not what alternatives you can get for the 70k. I am based in Zürich, Switzerland as is the watch I reviewed.
In my opinion it is an overrated brand, without a doubt a very good marketing strategy mainly through the image of brand ambassadors. Without detracting from the above, the only respectable thing is the use of light and rare materials, their calibres are not fully developed in house. Fashion and exclusivity labeled with an over price is what has positioned the brand above many others with higher quality and watchmaking ancestry.
Well said. Gotta command them for what they achieved though, and the APRP movements are superb in my opinion although I'd get an AP for a lower price if I would.
In my opinion, No. To spend over 100k on a single watch, it would have to be from perhaps one of half a dozen brands (Patek, etc) and involve a high end complication, such as a tourbillon.
My favorite are: 27-02 35 - rose gold 55 - white ceramic 67-02 Mainly people hate 'em just because they cost more than their glorified Patek without even trying to understand what goes into price of a watch. And the beauty is purely subjective, not all people like standard plain joyless watches. Tonneau happens to be my favorite shape. Also I hear a lot: atrocity for jerks without taste and too much money. While Producer Michael, Jackie Chan, Silvester Stallone, Terry Crews, Ed Sheeran, Kevin Hart and Richard himself are actually the sweetest people ever. And this list can go on. Watch snob community is the most toxic on the web :D Usually it's like this: when you come to the yacht party flexing your Patek bought with years of savings, the guy with RM will be the owner of a yacht :D
I know, I know, a lot of you might really not like the brand, but I belive everyone who is into watches has to admit that the brand did manifacture some insane watches (from a pure technical standpoint). Sadly nowadays Mille is worlds away from his own motto of beeing ,,A racing machine for your wrist", I mean he makes stupid looking watches like basically a CANDY watch 🤦♂️. Anyway thanks a lot for the video I really enjoy your content, and I hope everybody else has a great day :)
Not a watch or brand for everyone but I think significant to be recognised and to talk about. Like you said their marketing was and is very smart and people seem to love it. In that price range it gets very competitive and I think its good to have more brands offering different aesthetics for the end-consumer.
First, 100k is not enough, more like 200k. Now, if you can convince yourself that people will NOT see it as FAKE when you wear it, then go for it if you have money. The bottom line is RM tells people that the wearer is a filthy rich high flyer who has tons of money and don’t give a shit. Are you living in such a lifestyle? If not, then people will tell incongruence.
I do like the brand from day one and almost bought one many years ago (Rm 05 platinum) when you still could get a Nice discount . Today They are way overpriced imho . Looking forward to see the ,,ugly duck,,😉 from Tudor . This watch looks so strange that its kinda cool imho. Thats way i have one 😁.
Well said. But also you can sell them easy and sometimes make money doing it (talking about RM, not Mercedes unless you go vintage). There's pros and cons.
All business bro.. why would Nadal need a watch while playing tennis 🙄.. nice watch yeah!! Worth the money ? No!! The most I'd pay 10k ..too young of a brand too pay so much..after there 1st model survives 50 too 100 years is when you can start asking for a higher price.. thanks 👍
You never answered the question. Is it worth it? What is your opinion? Are these watches really worth tens of or hundred’s of thousands of dollars? I mean I think those are ridiculous prices personally.
Gets one if you had a couple of supercars likes Bulgari or Lamborghini..etc, when Patek or A. Lange&Dohne...was not longer to gets any interest from you.
If I could afford i would never ever buy this.. this is for the rappers who wants to show that they are rich that's it.. i would spend this money on the a lange sohne lange 1 platinum moonphase
for me I really don't like RM they're ugly not worth the price..... it's high end toys rich people like if I have billion or so I would like to buy their watches but if i had million i'll never buy this watch I respect what they doing and ik everything about company and why the prices so high but not for me
If you buy a high horology piece, you pay for the time it takes the watchmaker to build the watch. $100k will buy you a Voutilainen (yes, I know it's a completely different style, but that's beside the point), which is unbelievably well finished and with a dial made with a manually operated rose engine (one slip and the dial is thrown in the bin). Is a Richard Mille as time consuming as a Voutilainen to make? I have my doubts. The movement looks industrial and a bit rudimentary in finishing. Somehow I suspect it's mostly down to marketing. The materials are exotic, but in the modern western world, technology is cheap and labour is expensive.
Every RM watch spends approximately 5 years in R&D department before release. And every single screw is strictly in-house. Ofc every watch is limited to +/-50 pieces, so is this exquisite enough for your fine taste? These watches are specifically made in a most expensive and luxurious way, hence why the price is so high.
Only reason that they sell is due to marketing campaign and limited edition. They are way overpriced. The most expensive watch i own currently is a De Bethune db28tbmw for which i have traded my grandpa's 1953 Rolex 6036 chronograph. The best blue dialed watch in the 🌎. It is limited to 10 pieces and can put any RM to shame.Models like bonbon collection is a joke and a sattire to luxury watch makers. You can buy bovet watches at that pricepoint.
I think RM watches are ugly and unreadable. They are the antithesis of a watch, and you’d have to pay me to wear it, and even then I might wear a second watch to be able to tell the time.
Are Richard Mille watches worth it? What is your favorite model?

I spent 101610.84 Kwanzas on my RM011 and I never looked back. :)
It' s obviously the next Watchbubble... it's the next hublot!
I think prices will calm down a bit but I think its past the point of being a "bubble"
@@SwissWatchGang I am a 100% but we will see it in the future anyway
@@robertcavalli8015 Yes, let's see :)
@@robertcavalli8015 probably take another 4 years max until they come crashing.
RM at retail or even discount would be nice nowadays but impossible haha. Yes, the next watch is the one you own as well :)
Looks like prices are up 50% or more since this video.
Can I have a Swiss made Avanti and I’ll be good
Sure, contact them @aventiwatch on Instagram. :D
Swiss Watch Gang honestly if they add a Swiss movement and it’s an automatic it will be an impressive buy
@@thesneakertifosi Then it wouldn't be anywhere near that price point I suspect.
@@theJade Realistically, it would be a slight bump if they wanted a normal swiss ETA and it would be totally worth it IMO
I live RM 030 Rose Gold
Think I'll have an M.V. Agusta Rush "..
I mean if rolex discontinue all they produck like patek , ap , rm watch the price goes sky rocket . Put respect on rolex name
Sure.
They just seem so toyish, I guess I'd have to see one in person.
They´re cool in person.
Let's compare the RM with Mercedes. You only get the car but also pay for the garage and the villa.
Well said. But also you can sell them easy and sometimes make money doing it (talking about RM, not Mercedes unless you go vintage). There's pros and cons.
i know how to tell time . lf people deal with milimeters in a watch i can tell you you and your cllients your gonna have a very good time.
sure
All business bro.. why would Nadal need a watch while playing tennis 🙄.. nice watch yeah!! Worth the money ? No!! The most I'd pay 10k ..too young of a brand too pay so much..after there 1st model survives 50 too 100 years is when you can start asking for a higher price.. thanks 👍
Of course it's all business, Rafael was fine without it haha :D
You never answered the question. Is it worth it? What is your opinion? Are these watches really worth tens of or hundred’s of thousands of dollars? I mean I think those are ridiculous prices personally.
Gets one if you had a couple of supercars likes Bulgari or Lamborghini..etc, when Patek or A. Lange&Dohne...was not longer to gets any interest from you.
To each their own.
I am not their target audience but RM is not for me. Give me an old Vintage Rolex over this any day.
So these things are the G-Shock clones from Wish everyone is talking about??
Lol a bit harsh 😅
F.P. Journe?
I second that
What is the question here? :D I like FPJ too!
I WOULDNT LMAO 100K FOR A RUBBER STRAP LMAOOOO GL IN 10 YEARS
We'll see yes :D
RICHARD MILLE
Oh yea :D
If I could afford i would never ever buy this.. this is for the rappers who wants to show that they are rich that's it.. i would spend this money on the a lange sohne lange 1 platinum moonphase
I support your decision to go with the ALS! :)
Nope. I’ll go long on Gold futures with US$100k and buy 2x RM.
Lol that's another way to go about it yea. 👍😁
the price is 99% marketing, the watch itself cost $100 to make
If it was pre-owned by Post Malone---sure.
lol count me in too :D
for me I really don't like RM they're ugly not worth the price..... it's high end toys rich people like if I have billion or so I would like to buy their watches but if i had million i'll never buy this watch I respect what they doing and ik everything about company and why the prices so high but not for me
If you buy a high horology piece, you pay for the time it takes the watchmaker to build the watch.
100k for a g shock casio richard mille , not even gold no ill pass out , gave me a patek instead
👍😁
My salary is 1000$ why im watching this
😂 To get motivated?
Guess I would buy one if I was a multi multi millionaire, until then no thanks.
fair point.
No one care in-house movement in RM
No.
:D
Only reason that they sell is due to marketing campaign and limited edition. They are way overpriced. The most expensive watch i own currently is a De Bethune db28tbmw for which i have traded my grandpa's 1953 Rolex 6036 chronograph. The best blue dialed watch in the 🌎. It is limited to 10 pieces and can put any RM to shame.Models like bonbon collection is a joke and a sattire to luxury watch makers. You can buy bovet watches at that pricepoint.
I´d take your DB28 any day versus this RM! :)
RM 27-04 would wipe the floor with your De Bethune and wouldn't even notice it.
Would not buy one, family would have me committed if I spent $100,000 pounds on a watch!
😂
It’s an amazing watch...for $25
haha
I suppose it takes $100K (or whatever) to make a watch so grotesquely ugly.
No
Thanks, I hate it.
😂 Tune in next week, might prefer that one 👍😁
No and again no.
:D
Rolex isn’t at the same level as Patek, AP, Vacheron and Mille. Just my 2 cents.
I was talking about a strong secondary resale market not quality of product. 👌
Swiss Watch Gang In that matter I can only say one word: agree.
🤝🤝
Bro rolex its the king . They have way more money than all of them . Everybody even a 5 years old kid know bout rolex . So put respect on rolex name
Invicta brand. I'd spend $50.00 for it and give it to my grandson.
Short answer: No
Long answer: Not for this price
I wouldn't spend a dollar let alone a $100000 on an RM even if I was a billionaire. Ugly is ugly.
To each their own, there´s plenty of brands out there :)
High end "fashion ".
:)
Ugly watch in my opinion...sorry..
All good, we all have a different taste 👍
I think RM watches are ugly and unreadable. They are the antithesis of a watch, and you’d have to pay me to wear it, and even then I might wear a second watch to be able to tell the time.
