Hi Lars, it's not only eating that society here is obsessed with, it's consumption. With our mobile devices we are manipulated with commercials all day to buy this and that. We are consumed by consumption ;) Stay like you are, you are on the right way!
Hello Lars, we live on the countryside, in a village with 256 citizens. We eat vegetables and fruits, nuts out of our garden and fields just next to our farm we live. Yes we go to the supermarked and bakery, too. Once a year the butcher makes sausages out of the farm owners yearly young cattles. My daughter (9) helps me to seed potatoes, harvest, cultivate the vegetable garden. Take care, and stay healthy. Alex
I'm glad to see you back home with your beautiful Little Pink Troll, wife, and forest, and to feel some of your true happiness. You make so many awesome words of Wisdom for us! Thank you Lars.
Welcome BACK, Lars!!! Enjoy your wilderness! Here in Western Wyoming, USA, we had the coldest, snowiest winter in 30 years. Our deer fawn population suffered an almost 90% mortality due to the record deep snow. This has also been a very cold May for us and they have predicted we will continue to have frost up until the second week of June. I fear we will have a very short break from winter this year. I love these kind of videos from you, and I can just feel the level of peace and happiness that being in the wilderness brings to you! Enjoy it, Brother!
Good to see you re-acclimating to the Woods with a stroll around. The patterns and muted colours of that Zeltbahn camo are really excellent for those woods, at this time of year. Thanks for taking us along. Stay warm and well over there. Thom
Lars, you're right about the "over civilised" world. It's like a silent wave spreading across the world. Even here in Australia it's begun where some people begin to eat ready made food instead of cooking a hearty meal like you cook. Those of us who live in the countryside and rural areas enjoy going out camping in the bush away from modern life to appreciate the freedom, fresh air and the peace and quiet of nature. To enjoy nature without TV blaring is bliss. Love you videos mate, enjoying watching and learning in every one of them.
When I left my home in a town many years ago and moved out into a rural area it felt like true wilderness, after a few years it no longer feels like wilderness and I am moving further out and to a higher elevation that seems remote. It is so quiet that you cannot hear any signs of civilization only leaves on trees and animals and birds occasionally. The silence is very awesome and powerful to experience, I really need that and feel claustrophobic in towns and cities.
Awesome video as always Lars! Denmark society sounds strange... We also have the same thing with the animals getting all friendly in some parts of the US. Just the other day I had a goose come within a foot of me looking for food. I'll have to try that birch sap sometime. Looks good. Spring is definitely the best time of year. No bugs, nice weather, no irritating plants, and lots of toads! Stay well, Lars! I always look forward to your videos.
I like the conversations. It's a good thing and I think there's a good balance between the adventures and philosophical talks. If anything I'd like to always hear about your thoughts and perspectives as it makes the overall channel that much richer and interesting, not that it wasn't already.
I love that you use the nature goods, but in same time you preserve the nature (put the soil on that cut you made on the tree! ) AWESOME! Thank you for your beautiful video!
Hello from Australia, Love to see the season change there. So dramatic from what we are used to. Here it goes from hot to slightly less hot with maybe some rain. Love your content Lars.
I love watching your videos there's always something to learn. And your casual attitude towards bears 🤪 I would be just focused on worrying about walking into a bear but you just carry on with your day, 😆 thankyou for letting us into your wonderful life.❤️
Always get excited when I see a new video of yours. You are having a lot of cold, and we've been in the 80's up to 99 Fahrenheit here in Oklahoma. Crazy weather for sure. Good to see you're back home and enjoying your land, be safe my friend!
Great video Lars, as always. I have a German WW-2 reproduction Zeltbahn like yours except, different camouflage. A really great item and mine like yours is canvas. Our nylon US Army Ponchos, were worn the same way, and had a hood. However they were not as large. We would tie off the hood and make Poncho Hootches. We carried 2 of the light weight ponchos for that purpose. Before Vietnam there were only the heavier nylon ponchos, and both were still issues. Often one of each. However for wearing, I like the Pash Palatka, and the Zeltbahn better. Also a good hootch could be made also from them. There were serveal ways and one could attach 2 for a larger hootch. Also you use of rubber boots for that terrain in my view is much more practicle. We have a lot of birch here in our mountains and it's a great things to know to extract the liquid and also to heal the tree. Like you, I see the same "over eating" here in the USA. Too many fat people. Not good. I love to eat also, but I eat what I need and not just to eat. It's unhealthy. As product of to much easy living. People are starving in parts of the world and in others, they over eat. Crazy. I also love the outdoors. You and I are blessed to live where we do. Many would never touch living here all year round but those of us who do, are all folks like yourself who love nature over civilization. As to the wild game, it's very interesting your observations. I fully understand that, and have seen it myself, in Europe, and even some parts of the USA. Enjoy your home, and God Bless you and your family.
Fantastic to see you back on your more familiar stomping ground, Lars. It's always nice when springtime sets in following the winter break, everything is breaking out a fresh and it feels good to be outside exploring the terrain. Good to see the little Pink Troll acting her usual self. Take care...
Add my vote to the "rants are great" roster ... and nothing beats rubberized muck boots for swampy areas. Sorry for the loss of Deputy Dawg, and glad to see the pink troll still out with you from time to time. Keep 'em comin'! : ]
Thank you Lars for the great videos. I consider you my one Russian friend and really like to hear your perspective on things. Looking forward to following the progress on the off road vehicle project as well.
I just realize how long it's been I'm sorry I didn't want to dredge up old feelings truly sorry for your loss I don't even know what to say you're the man Lars
Hello Lars, We use rubber boots a lot here. Call them "Ketchikan Sneakers" they are worn so often. Even many years ago when 'shoe paks' were prevalent (rubber bottoms, leather tops) my Dad always had us use felt insoles which I still do today. You can pull them out and dry them making the boots dry quicker as well. They also keep your feet much warmer. When it is wet you just can't use anything but rubber. Important to get those that are snug around the ankles for hiking and loose for boating (you can kick them off if you fall overboard). Very sorry to hear about the loss of Deputy Dog as I just viewed the video. Always hard to lose close friends as they are. Take care. Doug
Wonderful videos again my friend and catching up With several of them here now. Great stuff , Learning more and more and thanks for sharing. Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter
Lars thank you so much for your natural presentation style. Your logic is spot-on correct. Your new life in the Russian wilderness has been and continues to be a wonderful education for your viewers all around the world. Thanks from Greg in eastern Thailand.
always love watching your vedoes this is no exception really enjoyed watching sorry to hear about your dog it's a great looking place you have to camp out in wish you all the very best until next time my friend
keep talking Lars, its really interesting. love it that you are able to speak so naturally to a camera. almost feel you were speaking in front of me in person!
Thank you for the info about living out in mother nature, keep the videos coming we all enjoy it 100%. Civilization is forgetting how to live like those in the 1800's, off the land without too much technology. The forest is free, get them out there to camp and be with nature.
It is good to see you back in your home environment Lars, this is where you belong. Similar weather here In BC Canada, just had some serious flooding close to where I live and roads were washed out, more rain than I have seen since i have come to Canada. The best time to harvest Birch Sap is just as the snow is melting away at the base of the trees. The trees I harvest from are 60 feet high and up to 12" diameter. I get one Gallon (5 Litres) of sap in 24 hours (though flow varies from tree to tree), Some tree sap has a pleasant flavour, others are tasteless. We cut the tree on the South face as much as possible as the sun tends to stimulate sap flow. The Siberians I know up North in the Boreal BC drink a lot of sap added to fruit juice, also alcoholic beverages made with sap.
Spring is my favourite time also brother. It is really interesting to see how far surplus travels Lars. I bought the same Ugo mess kit and use the KFS set in every camping video i make. That kit was bought in a very small town 20 K's from Moosemans homestead, population 60, it has a small army store. Strange hey. lol. Cheers Moose. 👍
I enjoyed the video. I like seeing what your part of the world looks like. I would like to see more of the river area. You definitely looked happier back home.
I've heard that side of the zeltbahn was designed for mountainous terrain, but I think that pattern would be awesome in the Russian swampy forrests. Plenty of grey for the birches and green for the moss and vegetation. Went for a hike recently with my gf to some foothills just outside of town and we were both saddened and angered to see loggers taking down a little forrest to expand more space for these million pound houses. Such a shame. You're right about refusing to live in a busy society, It's just madness sometimes.
Good to see you back in your beloved Russian wilderness. I know how you feel. I find it so hard to go back and visit family in Atlantic Canada after living up here. It's completely different away from the rat race. Makes me appreciate it more. Awesome tip on the birch sap. I might try similar with a little wedge stick instead of the gauze, and see how that works. Take care!

We watch your videos because we all are dissatisfied with the civilized world. Be blessed my friend.
Thanks!
I can only imagine a world filled with people like you, Lars. It would be filled with hope, peace, health and love.
I actually think it would
This is the one of the few channels I will listen to the commercials.
Thank you for supporting the channel :)
Also sorry to hear about your dog.
I dogs are like my kids!
They are a gift from God!
Hi Lars, it's not only eating that society here is obsessed with, it's consumption. With our mobile devices we are manipulated with commercials all day to buy this and that. We are consumed by consumption ;)
Stay like you are, you are on the right way!
Good to see you happy at home. Good to see your "Pink Trol". Children are the light of the home!

The joy in your face being out this time of year...I feel the same. Flies are not out yet. Very peaceful.
I'm glad to see you back home with your beautiful Little Pink Troll, wife, and forest, and to feel some of your true happiness. You make so many awesome words of Wisdom for us! Thank you Lars.
Hey bro when I lost my dog I cried like a little baby it was hardest thing that I had to deal with in a long time sorry for your loss love you man

Thank you :) Deer does not like deep snow. Further out East the deer have much more fat than ordinary deer, but they look just like normal deer :)
It is always good to get away and ramble on about things every once in awhile. Thanks for sharing Lars
Sorry about losing your dog ....glad to see you back
Glad to see you back too friend :) Thank you very much. Tell your husband hello from me!
Lars, really sorry about Deputy Dog. At least he had some great times with you in the forest.
My condolences.
Good to see you re-acclimating to the Woods with a stroll around.
The patterns and muted colours of that Zeltbahn camo are really excellent for those woods, at this time of year.
Thanks for taking us along.
Stay warm and well over there.
Thom
Thanks again!
Always good to see you Lars and your little Darlin daughter!
Stay giggly!
Ross
The Santa Fe Man...!
Always great to simply follow you around the woods Lars.
Thank you :)
You are so right, this time of year is definitely the golden period, the temperature in the mountains is perfect now.

Great observation about the obsession with food. It,s like that over here in the U.S. too.
gauze like paws (gaws). love your work.

hi lars from the wilderness project awsome videos .
good to see you lars.
Good video. I enjoy how the other people live and enjoy the outdoors. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome video Lars. You have such a common sense approach.
I like the conversations. It's a good thing and I think there's a good balance between the adventures and philosophical talks. If anything I'd like to always hear about your thoughts and perspectives as it makes the overall channel that much richer and interesting, not that it wasn't already.

In Alaska we make pancake syrup with Birch Sap!!! Most Excellent!!! Keep up the good work!!!
glad you're back! Wish you made longer videos...with longer rants, if need be, LOL.
Thank you mate :)
I agree. Rants are completely acceptable and welcomed.
Add my vote to the "rants are great" roster ... and nothing beats rubberized muck boots for swampy areas. Sorry for the loss of Deputy Dawg, and glad to see the pink troll still out with you from time to time. Keep 'em comin'! : ]
Amazing how fast the snow melt makes everything open up green. Beautiful country. Take care

Awesome video, sorry to hear about your dog.
What happened to his dog? I missed that.

Poor doggie! I am devastated for weeks when one of my pets dies....as a matter of fact....I still am.
What??? NO!!!! Not Deputy Dog???!!! Soooo sorry! ...What happened?
I figured that when I saw the yellow dog. Too bad. Let's see the cat!

keep it up Lars, from upstate new York

I like your channel I recommend your channel to everyone I know so take care okay
nice video! great seeing the pink troll out with you! ❤
Thanks Lars gr.Jan
*takes a sip of birch sap* that's the stuff - RIP deputy dog :(
The birch sap mixed with a generous amount of distilled potatoe juice is pretty good. Buckwheat, definately "Not Awsome!"
....true thoughts Lars!
R.I.P to the deputy dog :(
Home again!
Yes! :)
love the little pink troll at the end there pulling her face at the silly daddy's camera .lol
I too have a cheap pair of Wellies (Wellington Boots) for wandering around the local woods when they're really boggy.
Wellies rock :)
Always love the awesome videos. Hi from Canada
Thank you! :)
Love your videos and your insights and wisdom!
Hej Lars.
Cool video and thoughts, I like a little philosophy now and then too. (And wellies for forest trips. If you are going to an even small forest for just an afternoon, and it is not drained, full of low standing water, show me a comfortable appropriate Gore Tex boot for the trip. It has to go almost to the knees to do the job!!!!!!! That is why farmers and other professionals all wear Wellington Boots for living so to say. Hunters too. At least Danish hunters and it seems Russian hunters too see the point for some parts of the year and rainy weather.) :o) :o)
Anyway. It is cool too, that one can see the nature through out the year via your videos, I like that as well.
As a couch-potato in a big city (Copenhagen) with only a very tiny, small forest near by (Biking distance, but it is nice, partly non-drained and with natural growth - not industrialized harvest of trees) it is still nice to see the real wilderness type thing. :o)
Great video Lars, I like when you do this, your woods are awesome!!
We do the same thing with Birch in Poland ;)
Birch juice is vere healthy, you can boil it long time to made a sweet syrup
It's caled "Oskoła" i my country.
Your hitting that birch sap pretty heavy Lars
The birch sap is interesting. In the eastern U.S. they make "birch beer" which is a soft drink like root beer or ginger beer.
I love the cutlery in that mess kit! I also like how tough the pot is, despite the fact that it's not quite as serviceable as a cooking implement as, say, the German or Swedish mess kits are.
I think this kit is good for using as a secondary kit. I still have to test it though :)
Россия-Матушка calling the Dane and you looked very happy' thanks for sharing and I think that Hare you were trying to get to bolt knew about this electrified fence but we will never know.
ATB Bull
Nice video. And BTW....I like to hear your rambling on. And I'll look forward to your video about making use of surplus military equipment for camping & Bushcraft.
Great video very useful 👍👍👍
Awesome place there lars
I'm sorry to hear about Deputy Dog.
still love your videos, keep up Lars!
Thank you! :)
great video, I'm going to try collecting birch sap this weekend because of you!
Bear sign? Great food and a coat! Birch syrup is tasty Oh my Food obsession!
LOL :)
my condolences about deputy dog. its sad to hear that.
Never seen the gauze trick before. I will try it in northern Michigan in two weeks. Sap season may be over, but I will give it a try. Love birch/ maple water. Thank you.
Birch sap is a very popular drink in Russia.
Flask's narrow neck is the best way to accumulate sap for a long time. It does not allow the wind throw any trash inside.
That really sucks about Deputy Dog, Sorry for your loss.
Nice video Lars. I like all your video be it a learning/training video or not. Always very intuitive and you come up with something new each and every time. Glad your back home and safe and can enjoy spring. Cheers my friend, Fred
Thank you very much my friend :) I hope all is good up there!
i like it ! it is like having a conversation with you ! i'm from austria :D
That's how I see it too :)
Looking forward to the military equipment video, almost all of my camping and outdoor equipment is military and I'm pretty happy with it.
nice survival tip lars.. I now have an additional feather to put in my water source collections methods .
.semper Fi ,woodsman
Most enjoyable!
Thank you very much Fred :)
