Great ride along! Nice country, the Luaz looks cool in the snow. Had a chuckle when you checked out that snowbank up close and personal, I checked one myself not long ago:) Thanks for showing us what you had for lunch and explained the what and why you do eat that way. Good advice for sure, thanks Lars!
Awesome video as always Lars! An upside of your LuAZ being so light is that all its momentum gets easily absorbed into the snow if you slide off the road. I'm glad it didn't dent anything or mess up that lovely paint job. Really neat seeing all these logging trucks and that UAZ! I always see pictures of these trucks, but rarely see them actually moving about. Dried fish sounds real good right now... You always make me hungry with these "what's is my pack" sorts of videos! Anywho, I hope you can be out in the forest more this year. But getting the LuAZ all fixed up was definitely worth it!
everytime I see one of your videos I feel like I have to visit russia, because russian forests are so different to german forests mainly because of the size but also because of the people, like here in germany people will think you're crazy for going into the woods and making fire or looking for fatwood or simply building something like a shelter because in most cases that's not allowed and in russia it seems to be pretty normal at least at your place. Also I love how some random people just stopped to talk to you for a bit. Man that stuff is awesome!
I know how it is in Germany :) In Russia there are forests larger than Germany actually.Yakutia up in the Northeast, corner of Russia is the size of India ;)
In Germany, even deep in forests, you are not alone most of the time. Too many people live everywhere here, hard to enjoy the nature, also everything is optimized and the forest has not been wild since centuries. Seeing a real forest with dead wood and stuff is awesome.
Schmidt54 agree 100%, and if you make fire (you know, because how else do you wanna practice it so you can actually be good at it) you always have to kinda hope nobody sees the smoke or smells anything because the paths are usually not very far away, I enjoy it anyway but that can be a pain in the ass!
Depending where you live, it is impossible without driving for many hours, and even then you have to know where you can do this. Besides that, there is a tendency that everything is "verboten" because if everybody wants to make a fire in nature, within weeks there is nothing left of any forest because thousands of people would do it. I guess the best thing would be to have a large private property, let everything grow wild, and do everything there. How cool that would be!
Haha, when your SRV started to drift towards the bank the GoPro POV made it feel like bumper cars. Good thing nothing was damaged, neither man or vehicle. That's quite the marriage of old and new by the way, with the GoPro headband on the Feldtmütze, awesome! Solid kit in the backpack, as always. Cheers for the video Lars!
Thanks for the video. I am part Russian on my Dads side. Guess that's why I love the winter do much. I would like to get over there now that I am allowed to. But of course it takes money. So I may start saving up for a trip over there. I found it real hard to leave Alaska when the military posted me up in Fairbanks. Of course they sent me to Arizona. Before I got out. I like your way of eating. My father and grandfather taught me to eat what I would be eating up in the logging camps when I was s kid. Kept the body happy. Nothing new to the system. No fun having stomach problems when stuff goes sideways. Cheers.
It's finally cold there! Been bitter cold December in eastern Canada. I'm near the US border, but still we've had days of -24c, but then this week got so warm, most of the snow is gone, and in one day (tonight) it's going to drop 20 degC and 30 cm of blowing snow. Western Canada is pretty cold too, but they're getting a bit of a warm up too. Very up and down temperatures last few years. I was snow shoeing early this week , and had my lunch in the forest. Some bread, bacon, and pork pate. I was thinking Lars would enjoy this lunch. Amazing to see that little car driving so well, and yes, the road clearance is awesome! Great buy. I hope it serves you well.
To stop electric static shock let a piece of rubber drag the ground under the 4x4. Creates a ground stops the shocks. People up north uses it in the winter time. It works well here don't know about how cold it gets there. Worth a try.
Great vid Lars We used to start a petrol vehicle that had been standing a long time in winter temperatures with 3 rubber hot water bottles (the normal bedroom type). One for side of the battery nearest the terminals, one for the intake manifold/carb area, and one for your hands/lap while you wait for it all to warm up :) A trickle-charge of the battery would also help get the electrolyte circulating - important for maximising hard cold cranking amperes. Not everyone has mains electric to plug in an oil/block heater.
I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler that sounds a bit like your vehicle. It's not like the newer Jeeps at all, very bare bones. Rides like an old milk truck but it is great in the snow!
My first 4 w drive was a 1948 willy's military jeep. To change to 4 w you had to pull the front hubs and change them. But mine had been converted, before I bought it . I think the original hubs are still in the attic of shop and will probably be there when I die. ;-)
Поехал-бы дальше от старой деревни-выехал-бы в Красный сокол. Там 4 км оставалось. Деревня в которой ты был называется Калиновское. Отличное видео, как- будто побывал в родных местах!!!
Attach a length of chain to the metallic frame of the vehicle. Make it long enough to reach the ground so that it drags with two or three inches touching the ground surface. It is called a "static strap" and will automatically bleed the static charge from the vehicle. *S* Be SURE to locate the chain where it doesn't interfere with the workings of your vehicle. Good luck!
That simple and extremely old-school and low-tech hand crank is an awesome idea for extreme cold weather! -And the manual pumping of fuel. I didn't use to appreciate these manual low tech redundancies, but after having some higher tech things break or fail with no simple fix I recognize them! Awesome! 👍🏽
Hello Lars, I didn't realize how much clearance that little truck has. Without a straight axle and gear box there isn't much to hang up. I like those bib overalls you have on. I've never seen any with belt loops before. That would be handy if you carry much on your belt. I usually do!
Really nice vid man. Good the 'off road' trip on the icy snow didn't turn out badly and you could continue the trip. Der er desvære ingen sne her, selvom skoven er bydende. I'll take the new dd hammock and tarp out next week - should drop below freezing again. The last good winter I remember was about '86 or so. 32 below one night, full moon and a skærende vind. I was out, take pic with a real camera - the winters and summers flow out into less contrast as time passes. Ja, great paint job. Good food - bro, I just filled some kilos in the freezer today from a rå lam that was hanging outside. btw, seems we got ulve her i kredsen - i dagens 'danmark'. Oh well, visas, and burokrat restriktions precluded my movement so despite preference to an environment similar to your own or mountainous forest, I am as close as it gets on this peninsula. Nice friendly trip - good food - me too - live well, long and prosper Lars, og din familie - kreds..
A great little car and an interesting trip out. As you say the berm on the roadside is handy, without your winch fitted I wouldn't be happy about sliding off the road. The forest looks a bit chilly but more than makes up for it in beauty.
Hey Lars! awesome LuAZ video. And of course was glad to see all the other vehicles as well :) You do exactly the same things to start up the V4 as I do with my ZAZ. Strange how this knowledge is spread through most unlikely borders and distances.
Fish Jerky. I know that in such a harsh, cold climate, Caloric intake is extremely important....even helps keep your body somewhat warm, as the digestive process takes place. Personally, there is no way I'd venture off deep into the woods in those temps, with very little food (water is no problem since it's just laying all over the place in the form of snow) as you can never know what survival situation you may find yourself in. A bit of raw salted fatback and I don't know what the other is but, both look like Pork doesn't appear to be near enough lol. Native Alaskans, Canadians and Russians in Siberia can teach us how to really survive in the harshest of cold. When it comes to Native Alaskans, you'd better have a strong stomach lol. Before I get too old to do it (I'm 60), I want my wife to drive me (I can drive but, it's not safe for me to do so, and if I were ever stopped by any PCs I'd be fooked as I'd fail a blood drug test...if I had to give it, due to my pain meds) out to a nearby place I can camp, and just spend 3-4 days enjoying nature. When I lived in the States, we camped along the river and did float trips often. Nothing better than fresh Trout caught and put straight in the skillet! I'd have to do it alone anyway, as my family would never do it, and never have lol.
The scenery looks awesome driving along that logging road, so it's been great to see how the little vehicle behaves when the going gets a bit icy. A beautiful sunny day, Lars. Take care...
Lars you often apologize for the vehicle noises in the background. Mostly I can barely hear it. I don't know if you are good at editing it down or if my hearing sucks, but your video quality is always awesome.
Get stuck in 2 wheel. Get unstuck in 4 wheel. Get stuck in 4 wheel, you are stuck! The spy in the sky has you 1.95k from the intersection, then 1.27k across what looks like swamp to a point 7.27k directly south of the homestead. No place or time to go look without the skies and another daypack. That is quite the machine and you are having way too much fun. Thanks for the ride! CM
I love this channel. None of the jumpy editing or hype music etc just straightforward beautiful content/sights from a fascinating region of the world. Love the vehicle too, so cool.
great video ! just a thought i do alot of 4 wheel driving here in n w montana on ice & snowpacked roads try lowering air pressure in your tires would give you better traction on the ice & snow! really enjoy your videos keep em coming!
Lars you are talking good sense about food. from experience I have found its good to keep your outdoor food as close as possible to what you normally eat . Same for eating wild plants and grubs ect. You are better to eat nothing than somthing you are not sure about. You will make poor decisions if you are hungry but you will be in a worse situation if you are worrying all the time about fudging your huggies. Off road you dont wont to have a blocked or a leaky exhaust whether its your 4 wheel drive or your two leg drive. Getting sick in the outdoors can be fatal
Thank you, Lars. Please keep them coming. It is a beautiful snowy winter there. We are having wind and rain on the coast of Oregon. Boss actually looks a little bigger. I think your "ride" is terrific. I have made the fat back and it is good. I tried cooking uncured bacon, and I like pork belly cured with salt and brown sugar with Mexican Parsley, cilantro, better, but also your salt and garlic fat back is super!
Hi Lars - Great trip! Have you thought about maybe a VHF ham radio in your Luaz back to the homestead? "Just in case"..Cell phone coverage not so awesome! Your lunch spot was only 11.8 KM from your house, (I located your homestead on satellite photos - your secret is safe with me and the vastness of Russia!) - 12 km is easy VHF radio range with an elevated antenna at home. You have a huge area to play and explore out there. Happy 2018 and all the best to you and your family from California!
I have a few HAMS actually. It's hard to navigate logging trail I have not been on before, as they are mostly not mapped. I can see them on Google Earth, but it does not help much. It's a question of which logging trails have been opened. I normally take a different route. I will try that next time. I must have been in "Kalinovskaya", or what's left of it :)
What's the legislation like on transmitting over a radio in Russia? Over here there are a couple of legal hoops to jump through and a lot of obstacles in the way - most of them being in the form of old elitist retired guys who treat the whole thing like an really restricted internet forum and really don't like new people transmitting over "their" band.
I am new to Ham but this is really annoying that they should treat new people like that. In Aussie it seems pretty relaxed and they take time with new guys. Interesting comment. Cheers Moose.
Hi Again! The hot setup would be to have Mrs. SR and Sergey get their licenses and radios too. "Snow Tractor mobile" etc. A very handy support system for outdoors people. I notice that your Nissan has a dual-band VHF/UHF radio antenna installed. Maybe you're on your way. I have contacted countless Russian hams via longer-range equipment over the years; its a great, very practical hobby. Much respect from California...
Really like these vehicle videos and watching you eat uncooked pork! You are right about fat as well. It is definitely what you need to survive in the wilderness, but especially in the winter!
Doesn't always go to plan, but goes well, nonetheless. Sun helps a lot! -36 and sunny here today. You're making me want to get out for the rest of the day! Maybe next time you'll get to the hunting cabin. Have a great weekend.
Awesome video! Ahh, the joys of Short wheelbase 4 wheel drives 😀! We drove a lot of woods roads when I was younger, for work and play, much easier in winter! I'm around your age and a USMC Veteran so it's very cool for me to see the Soviet vehicles I have only seen in "enemy ID" photos!
Have you considered a hood mounted tool rack? If you google “msg pioneer rack” you’ll see how US special forces mounted their tools. The nice thing is you can make your own using PAC handlelok (fire department tool mounts) and a drill. The humvee has a fiberglass hood so it has to be backed with steel for the mount, yours looks plenty strong. Now, it’ll look kinda silly if all you mount is a bunch of silky saws. If you send me a message I’ll send you a pac mount or 2 to play with if you’d like.
Very good video once again, Lars! You are doing an awesome job with your channel. Please keep these well made and interesting videos coming our way. It has been very cold over the past two weeks in the area where I live, but just watching your video made me feel much colder!
Lars , the country side is very beautiful, I love it ! I was holding my breath when you hit the icy spot ,so glad the SRV was unharmed, we get freezing rain here in Oklahoma, makes for very treacherous driving . I laughed about the static ,as it gets me almost daily ,even though I know it might happen , I get preoccupied, then " zap ! " Thanks for keeping it real ,it's the high point of my day !
hi lars this cold war warrior is back and rewatching this video. i miss winter ,its in the 90s farenheit here in iowa 90% humidity so i like watching old vids of survival russia .summer in siberia does not look awsome with heat and bugs, but dont matter were a guy is at this time o year. heat and bugs are present . siberia still looks awsome , like lonnies alaska. allso the little track machine is awesome. C - ya
must be an awesome way to spend weekends in snow, chatting and shouting with huge awesome guys in Russia, while I'm watching the video in a tropic 6am hot morning, with my baby in arm constantly scratching my face fervently.
Brilliant video... the timing of the small crash you had was awesome, "short wheel base, directional stability is not one of the virtues of this car-ahhhh!" Glad there was no damage. The salted meat looked great I'm going to watch your videos now on how you made it. Awesome! Thanks
do you have an FAQ somewhere ? 1) what are immigration laws in Russia ? 2) how difficult is it for a US citizen to immigrate to an area like yours in Russia ? 3) what are the gun laws where you live ? 4) can immigrants own guns ? 5) can immigrants buy land in Russia ? 6) are there restrictions on he kinds of jobs immigrants can have ? 7) how much Russian language proficiency is required ? 8) how much of your food do you provide for yourself through gardening, farming, hunting and raising livestock ? 9) how much of your personal buying and selling is done through bartering and trading instead of cash ?
He did a video about gun laws few months back but this would make a good video answering am those questions but I would only like to visit. Love 'Merica!
Your use of the hand crank reminds me of how pilots hand-turn propellers to get oil circulating through the engine before starting. In cold weather it's called 'breaking the oil loose' from where it settles down in the pan. In extreme cold, fat is GOOD! CALORIES!! How do you stay hydrated in deep winter?
Yeah, that was great.🤘 Awsome car, awsome russian winter and awsome gear and food👍 This little car doesnt mind about that little crash... Brave little soviet tank😍 Looking forward to when you will finish the camo paint job in warmer times. Are you going to paint the rubber rooftop too? Or will it stay olive? Have a epic weekend, your GR🤘
Nice little trip, if not without the odd slip and there is nothing like getting arced-out on exit to focus the mind after shining the vinyl with a wool clad behind. Regards
Nice to see you out in the 4x4 . A few years ago I had a cj5 jeep and was a choppy ride so I changed it for a cj7 bit longer and a much better ride, take care, stay safe.
Regarding the static electricity shock that you get when you leave your car... I had the same issue in a smaller scale, and I have found out that if I grab the car before I leave the seat, the spark will fly between my foot and the ground instead of between my hand and the car. Maybe you can hack your way out of your static electricity misery :)
Nice video of the Russian wilderness in winter and a very interesting rig you have there. I have an 1984 Full size Ford Bronco with a manual transmission and a 300 cu inch straight 6 motor happens to be my favorite rig in winter and for going into the back country.
Yes my levels of awesome are back up high now. Thanks Survival Russia. It was nice of you to say that Mrs Survival Russia was awesome. The entire Survival Russia team is awesome. Lets get it done and do awesome things everyone.
Awesome video Larz. This is the stuff I have been waiting for. You did a great job rebuilding the green monster and it's awesome to see it out in the snow.
I love this guys enthusiasm, I dont know what it is but I can watch your videos and always enjoy them even when its stuff I have no clue about! Keep up the good work!
HI lars Been watching a lot of your videos lately noticed one thing you maybe haven't touched on is fishing . Maybe you could do a video on fishing in russia I would imagine ice fishing is especially popular this time of year were u live . I know from a survival standpoint I would fish before I tried to snare something to eat if I was near water
Another awesome video Lars, I've never tried the kind of "Meat" you take with you when your out and about, could you possibly explain how the Fat Back, (if I got that right) kinda tastes I know that's probably a tall order, but as I was born in the UK and still live here the food I was bought up on was cheap cuts of meat but still had more meat than fat, So to me it seems rather odd, also it never gets as cold as it does where you live ok some ares in the UK a week or so ago got to -12 over night but that's not regular by any means, to us it's very cold but I'm guessing to you that would almost be warm lol. I did visit Montana in the winter of 2006 so I got an idea but I didn't venture out much at night. I was staying with my son who was married to an American woman, on the 2nd day I decided to walk from the house to the local store/supermarket which was only a quarter of a mile from the house or there abouts, walking on the road or paths was out too icy. so I walked in the snow it took me around 40 minutes to get less that half way, snow was that deep, when two kind Americans pulled up in their huge 4x4 truck and said "Hi we're guessing your not from here" understatement of the year lol, they told me they would take me to the store, lesson learnt. After that most I felt of the cold was when leaving the house to get to the car, lol. My son said before I travelled to remember there would be lots and lots of deep snow and it would be FREEZING, my reply was yes yes I know that, I'd no idea.
Great vid Lars, I have the same pack along with the full 6sh117 Vest set, I found that using this vest is allot more comfortable for me than a bergan as I have back issues. Thanks for this 20Min!!! upload really enjoyed atb David
Awesome video Lars, I have to say I almost fell off my chair when you went into a spin, LOL....at least nothing was damaged. Back in the deep freeze here but off to the tent tmrw, all packed and ready to go. Once the sun gets up I will be out and taking the quad into the bush. I was gonna ask as well how is the heat inside the vehicle, windscreen frosting up etc....have a great weekend my friend........Fred
Great Video. I always carry a pack with me when I travel. I carry extra warm clothing. If my vehicle breaks down and it is -20 Fahrenheit like it was this morning you may need to wait for a while if you call someone for help.
Nice video Would be interested in what kind andhow the fish is made if you know the process. Never seen tiny salted fish like that before. Only thing i've seen close in Canada is dried whitefish a northern fellow was feeding his sled dogs. cheers.
Beautiful area you are in Sir. Great little vehicle and love the portal axles.. are they commonly available ? Can they be exported? .. Wonderful to see those big URAL logging trucks.. (I have wanted one of those for years) .. You exemplify all that I appreciate about the Russian people, resilience, creativity, perseverance and a genuine appreciation of what you have. It is no wonder to me that you fit in there.... Spasiba Lars
When you mentioned no cell phone coverage I was wondering if you had any VHF radios? If not maybe worth a look for emergencies - well as long as there is somebody available to receive it! :D I think they would work fairly well since there are no hills.
Thanks for another awesome video Lars, your snippet there of the dried fish gave me an idea to dry my own from a local fish that is small and in abundance!
AWESOME Lars!!! ...see any types or Grouse or Ptarmigan on your road trip? Looks like good Moose area also! What kind of fish would you find in the lakes, ponds, and streams this time of year? Wife did and awesome jigsaw camo to vehicle!!!
this is awesome video brings back so many memories, my family used to have an UAZ 969 25year ago. Russian people like to eat salo, but I never got used to it. Cool video, keep em coming!
Thanks for showing the special hubs for ground clearance. I believe the American Humvee has hubs of that type too, although that vehicle is obviously bigger. Nice video.
Next time you are around the logging area could you make a video about the logging operations? I'd be very interested to see the different types of equipment and how they compare to Canadian logging machines. Thanks.
Along with your grub and gear did you take Saiga in case you ditched and had to tab home. Be a bit scary to glance behind and see something following you. Sometimes familiarity and all that
I love your scenery. 👍 I served in the military in Alaska ( Aluetian Islands, Point Barrow, & Anchorage ) . Russia is beautiful , like most of her people.
I wonder if you could put a bit wider tires onto the front wheels for winter steering alone then swap them back for the narrow tires for summer to handle mud
Lars, when you stopped on that bridge in the beginning, was that over the pond where Сергей has his beaver trap (where he caught the otter)? One thing I do when I have to touch stuff in winter that will shock me is touch it with my knuckles instead of my finger tips. The shock doesn't hurt because there are less nerves in your knuckles. Also why didn't you take Билый and Boss along with you? They really wanted to go. I'm sure they wouldn't have gotten on your nerves one bit.
Lars, you should start an export company and sell these in the US! 4x4 vehicles like this sell extremely well here. Especially anything diesel. ! I'm game if you wanna sell them!
You don't have to do very much to have an awesome video. They are soaked in authenticity, which I like.
Thanks for sharing your day!
This is how all youtube an television shoud be, no scenarios, just real life events.
All the best from Serbia, Lars! We highly appreciate your work, knowledge and spontaneous charm!

Many good things can be said about low-tech :) Thanks!
Very cool trip! Does the SRV have a heater in it?
Thank you :) It has two actually. A gasoline heater and the hot air from the cooling fan.
it also heats by osmosis
In the Russian winter, the heaters just break even.
and that on a good day !! maybe carry logs to make siberian log fire in the back??? :)
In Russia the heaters heat you..(Said in Yakov Smirnov voice)

"Pain is a great teacher" I learned this very young from my father. He was an electrician and I was his apprentice.
Great video Lars!
I'm an electrician too :)
Maybe a better electrician would be a better teacher LOL
A great little car and an interesting trip out. As you say the berm on the roadside is handy, without your winch fitted I wouldn't be happy about sliding off the road. The forest looks a bit chilly but more than makes up for it in beauty.
Hey Lars! awesome LuAZ video. And of course was glad to see all the other vehicles as well :)
You do exactly the same things to start up the V4 as I do with my ZAZ.
CM
It was a good day :)
calvin mientke whats the coordinates?
Sorry! I'm guessing and even if I'm correct, it would be up to SR to say.
I love this channel. None of the jumpy editing or hype music etc just straightforward beautiful content/sights from a fascinating region of the world. Love the vehicle too, so cool.
Thank you very much. Happy Healthy 2023.
great video ! just a thought i do alot of 4 wheel driving here in n w montana on ice & snowpacked roads try lowering air pressure in your tires would give you better traction on the ice & snow! really enjoy your videos keep em coming!
I actually showed the tire pressure in the beginning of the video ;) 0.85
Good job, again. Lars, You're very close to beat Discovery Сhannel )
Great video. Here in the US we sometimes use 1/2 x 8 sheet metal screws in the tread for extra traction depending on tread thickness.
Another great video Lars! Keep them coming! Are you guys able to have some sort of hand held GPS?
Thank you :) Of course we can have GPS/SATNAV.
No they must use compass only....the commies will come and take them too gulag if they are caught with any electronic devices......
In the Uk they use gps to track children for pedophiles.. You'd think it would be the other way around, but the brits love they're kiddie fiddling
Winter never gets old out in the woods an awesome little drive. Thanks for sharing Lars
That truck is sooo cool and a form of shelter out in that bitter environment . Great adventure great video
I love that little weird vehicle :)
Survival Russia haha I don’t blame you god bless
One for the wagon is not a bad idea Lars, could make some interesting vids also. Proper little bug out wagon. lol. cheers Moose.
Next time I will take the route that I know :) Thank you!
Looks like lots of fun to drive that little 4X4, and looks beautiful all the surroundings with all that snow. Nice video thank you.
It's winter! Oh! SNAP! Time to slap everything before touching stuff. Try to keep the "lanquage" down. Snap dammit!
hi lars this cold war warrior is back and rewatching this video. i miss winter ,its in the 90s farenheit here in iowa 90% humidity so i like watching old vids of survival russia .summer in siberia does not look awsome with heat and bugs, but dont matter were a guy is at this time o year. heat and bugs are present . siberia still looks awsome , like lonnies alaska. allso the little track machine is awesome. C - ya
Does that vehicle have a heater? Nice it see it running so well after all the work you put in.
Of course. It has two actually :)
must be an awesome way to spend weekends in snow, chatting and shouting with huge awesome guys in Russia, while I'm watching the video in a tropic 6am hot morning, with my baby in arm constantly scratching my face fervently.
Love 'Merica!
there is homestead program in Siberia. stay 5 years learn language and get free land. so i read recently
Yeah, that was great.🤘
Awsome car, awsome russian winter and awsome gear and food👍
This little car doesnt mind about that little crash... Brave little soviet tank😍
Looking forward to when you will finish the camo paint job in warmer times.
Are you going to paint the rubber rooftop too? Or will it stay olive?
Have a epic weekend, your GR🤘
I NEED an off road vehicle. Your video makes me want one even more.
Every outdoorsman needs at least one!
My goal is a 4x4 Silverado lifted 6 inches with 35 inch Toyo tires. I'd get me a brush guard, winch, toolbox. Oh man. . .Haha
That black bread looked really good! Do you have a good shovel in case you bury the Luaz in the snow?
Thank you! Yes, I had a shovel with me :)
Nice video of the Russian wilderness in winter and a very interesting rig you have there. I have an 1984 Full size Ford Bronco with a manual transmission and a 300 cu inch straight 6 motor happens to be my favorite rig in winter and for going into the back country.
Portal hubs on my old range rover would be interesting. You were blessed with an awesome day
I used to have an old RR V8 actually :) With carburetors...
Survival Russia it's kind of like having a boat, always seem to be working on it, I do like my ugly toaster
Yes my levels of awesome are back up high now. Thanks Survival Russia. It was nice of you to say that Mrs Survival Russia was awesome. The entire Survival Russia team is awesome. Lets get it done and do awesome things everyone.
Truck has turned out AWESOME so far! Time for some seats for the family!
Lars I was terrified!!! Was expecting the Russian Yeti to attack attack at any moment.
Awesome video Larz. This is the stuff I have been waiting for. You did a great job rebuilding the green monster and it's awesome to see it out in the snow.
Thanks and good to see you again :)
I love this guys enthusiasm, I dont know what it is but I can watch your videos and always enjoy them even when its stuff I have no clue about! Keep up the good work!
One of your best videos yet, Lars. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. All the best from Maine, U.S.A.
That was a great shared adventure. Thanks for sharing and Greetings from WW2Historyhunter
HI lars Been watching a lot of your videos lately noticed one thing you maybe haven't touched on is fishing .
Maybe you could do a video on fishing in russia I would imagine ice fishing is especially popular this time of year were u live . I know from a survival standpoint I would fish before I tried to snare something to eat if I was near water
another great video. one day i would love to go do a wild camp in Russia in winter, keep up the good work
Great trip into the Siberian forest. Another successful test drive! Thank you !
Thanks for this 20Min!!! upload really enjoyed
atb David
I like how the steering wheel wraps go with the Belgian camo paint.
this is awesome video brings back so many memories, my family used to have an UAZ 969 25year ago. Russian people like to eat salo, but I never got used to it. Cool video, keep em coming!
Thanks for showing the special hubs for ground clearance. I believe the American Humvee has hubs of that type too, although that vehicle is obviously bigger. Nice video.
Indeed the Humvee has portal hubs too. Just bigger :) Many military vehicles uses portal bubs.
They sure do. Maintenance is a pain with all the extra seals but the ground clearance is stellar.
We have same weather here in central Finland! And finally the sun has shown, feels like you could go out with only a t-shirt because of the sun.
It's awesome! Sun!! :)
Next time you are around the logging area could you make a video about the logging operations? I'd be very interested to see the different types of equipment and how they compare to Canadian logging machines. Thanks.
yako0000 they use harvesters, ponsse
The payoff of all that build time.
Along with your grub and gear did you take Saiga in case you ditched and had to tab home. Be a bit scary to glance behind and see something following you. Sometimes familiarity and all that
Actually I did not :)
I love your scenery. 👍 I served in the military in Alaska ( Aluetian Islands, Point Barrow, & Anchorage ) . Russia is beautiful , like most of her people.
Absolutely gorgeous country! Very much like where I live minus our mountains.
Good stuff. The only good thing about winter is the snow fills in the pot holes in the road
Whoa, that vehicle has 40 hp? I thought it would have 100. The WWII jeep had 60 hp. Still a very capable machine.
Lars that truck is very cool. Happy New Years to all. Hank
Oh yes, I wanted to also tell you that I really love the little off-road vehicle that you have been restoring. Great job!
20 minutes long video fantastic!
I love watching you're videos, also when you wiped out just as you were saying your vehicle is unstable in those conditions...classic, lol.
Great rig. A true outdoors vehicle unlike the soccer mom rigs that is all we can get in the US.
Just getting up to speed.! So far so good, and I thank you for sharing. Thumbs up to you.
Lars, you should start an export company and sell these in the US! 4x4 vehicles like this sell extremely well here. Especially anything diesel. ! I'm game if you wanna sell them!
That bread sounds terrific. What beautiful country.
“I’m out of cell phone coverage, which is not so awesome” 😂😂😂 laugh every time you say awesome
Love those Russian 4x4's ...nice work lars thx for sharing and make more luaz videos!
So glad i found your channel...very awsome!!
