- The #Kallakurichiwoodcarvings are a unique form of wood carving practiced in #TamilNadu.
Recently, these wood carvings received the geographical indication (GI) tag. The tag was awarded based on the application filed by Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation (Poompuhar) in 2013.

A good recognition for these people. I am living in this area Anna nagar, kallakurichi, wondered seeing them doing such amazing sculpture but not noticed yet. This tag will help them to popular their works across the state and country.
