so proud of you gav, vlogging outside is overwhelming but it helps with anxiety, it would be so lovely to have a slice of life vlogs as a constant on the channel! just lowkey low stress cozy basic chores kinda vlogs. they're my favorite yt content actually. Edit: now everytime you go to the church cafe i’m gonna think about shrek railing some *ussy 😭😭😭😭
I LOVE thé idea of you doing a non-project video of just one book you are in the mood for and how it went/how you liked it! You deserve some lighter commitment projects (and honestly that’s more interesting to me that 1000 mediocre books in a specific series 😅)
Please do more of these type of videos! I love reading vlogs / slice of life videos. It seems more "chill" and we get to just hang out with you going about your life. 🩶💙
I love the idea of a monthly (whenever) vlog where you go to the library pick a book and read it and review. I think if you already aim for a larger year-long video project it puts too much pressure on you :( just post a vlog when you do pick a book at the library, and maybe at the end of the year if you feel like it do an overall review video of the idea?
Using the library regularly last year drastically improved my reading life. I think it’s because I grab things that look captivating to me at that moment in time and I’m not afraid to take risks. I’m choosing books that perfectly fit my current mood and need, even it’s a silly one. Compare that to my owned TBR (which I’d been trying to prioritize in previous years) where I will sometimes force myself to tackle a book out of a sense of obligation (it’s been sitting there too long) or because it was a beautiful edition or something someone else gifted me/recommended. And then it starts to feel like a chore to get through. I realized this when my overall ratings went through the roof last year…a 4.5 average rather than my usual 3 average. Libraries for the win!
This was super cozy! also, I am from Uruguay and the consensus seems to be here: on December 8th you put on the Christmas decorations, and on January 8th you take them off (we have the Three Kings' Day, hence why it lasts until after the New Year.
In Italy we take down the christmas tree and christmas decor exclusively after january 6th when we celebrate the three wise men and a cute old witch called the Befana stuffs good kids' stockings with sweets and candy. So I'd say people usually reset their houses to regular decor on january 7th. 😊 So glad you decided to give yourself more grace this upcoming year, you deserve the best Gav! ❤
I think a video just like this each month would be great. Go to the library and cafe, show us some of your plans for the next month (so people can get a look at all the awesome stuff your Patreon does). I would love just a tour around town or some of your fav hangouts etc. I live in Canada but I'm originally from Wales. I miss all of the older buildings and seeing the sights. Thank you for all of the love and time you put into all of your content. Have a Happy New Year!
Hey Gavin! 👋 My birthday is on January 1st. In my family, I start the year and my father ends the year. His birthday is December 31st. We always shared a cake growing up. I am glad you are now prioritizing your mental health. I did that last year and it was the best thing for me. I even started eating healthier because of it. Thanks for all the wonderful content this year! May next year be what you want it to be!!
Loved this. I think it's a great idea to build time for low-pressure vlogs like this into your content planning to hopefully force yourself to take a breather. If you were able to do a similar video around the end of the month and included that preliminary planning for the next month you could even call it a monthly reset, which people are very into these days. It wouldn't have to be an uber "productive" cleaning reset, but more of a mental reset. Though the main priority should not be to build it into another stressful obligation, but to save space for yourself to take it easy. ❤❤❤
i love the idea of the library monthly pick! i think you should raise the stakes even more by only picking something you've never heard of, chosen purely based on "oh this looks super interesting". libraries have so many backlog hidden treasures, and it can make the choosing even more mood-driven (which aligns with "reading what i want")
Loved this vlog Gavin!! In ireland everyone generally still leaves their decs up til the 6th of January. Personally I love that we still have Christmas for the first week of the new year!
Gavin, I just love getting a chance to hang out with you. Yes, more of these vlogs please! 🙆🏾♀️ And I love that you will be taking better care of yourself in 2024. We all want the best for you and will be here for any content that you give us. 🤗 Oh and I love the church turned into the coffee shop. Looks so cozy! I'm jealous. 😮 Here's to a wonderful 2024! Much love! 🍾🥂
I feel like this was so nice to see and hear. I don’t know you personally but I’m happy you are saying you are happy, going outside for coffee just cause you want to is sooo important, I’m cheering for you
A digital 5-7 quart crockpot will be your friend, Gav. Toss fresh ingredients in, in the morning. Go low and slow and by six you'll have a home-cooked dinner. To say nothing of yummy leftovers... Plus, a seriously easy cleanup.
Gavin- you should give yourself social challenges. Like converse/talk more than hi to one other person outside the home every day irl not online. Do anti isolation goals like take a half hour walk everyday. Could help with issues you’ve mentioned.
So proud of you for taking care of your mental health 😊 I have a feeling that the steps you are taking would be a great example for others who are struggling with similar issues. May we all find ways to be kinder to ourselves in this incoming year 🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing with us a piece of your journey and happy new year! 🎆
i LOVE seeing people utilize the library!!! I think the one book thing is a great idea. I love how your library looked like it was organized like a bookstore. wow your set of Lord of the rings books is gorgeous.
I also always try to find some hidden gems at my library. I might have to make it a challenge to read at a nice place and drink a coffee and have some lunch or something. I really love to watch people do that in vlogs it looks so nice! And I want to continue more series. Also want to random choose books from my shelves and read them. Nick my son also loves that game, he washed santa's workshop.
Loooove a nice cozy vlog! Sending you love and wishing you a happy new year, Gavin! Here's to a better brighter and peaceful 2024 ✨I'm very much looking forward to a fresh start myself!
OMG Gavin what an incredible new vlog style from you! I love it. I started using my library (both digital & physical) more in 2023 and I plan to ramp that up even more in 2024. I'm excited to see more library visits on your channel. Can't wait to see what you do in the self-care space and adjusting to your life as a mental health conscious booktuber. It's gonna be a great year.
i love cosy bookish slice of life vlogs so as long as you're comfortable with it, i'd love for this to become a series! also that church café is gorgeous and tikka masala pizza sounds amazing!
Loved seeing the library. I can't believe it has a café inside! Taking down Christmas decorations either happens on New Year's Eve or Epiphany. I really enjoyed this cozy vlog.
Honestly, these are some of your favorite videos. I love seeing you out and about, visiting with friends, etc. Well I mean I love a lot of your videos, and just love seeing what makes you happy. ❤

In Germany, we traditionally keep the Christmas decorations at least up until January 6. But I like to start taking down my decorations a few days earlier.
I just recently borrowed The Book That Wouldn't Burn from the library too! I finished it already, and loved it. be prepared, the last 30ish % is like thriller paced to the end. His 40 page short story in between books 1 & 2 is fun too.
We don't consider them Christmas decorations in my country, but New Year decorations instead, so we usually don't take them off till mid to late January. Some people leave them for the whole winter
You should set monthly goals for outings. I saw another creator let IG plan their day. They had people vote on where they should go for breakfast (ex fav place or someplace new) along with various activities during the day. It was a fun vlog to watch.
Me: "Yes, take care of your mental health, Gavin!" also me: *tries to finish 4 books in one day just to complete a reading goal*. (mostly manga, I'll be fine *insert the picture of the burning dog*)
I love power wash simulator! It’s so chill. And they do add on packs like Bikini Bottom off SpongeBob and the Tomb Raider mansion so you’ll have so much fun! Was so lovely to see you out and about really proud of you Gav x
I am only half way through this video, but I am LOVING it. I love this chill, casual, authentic Gavin. Glad you have decided to take care of yourself in 2024. Can’t wait to watch you evolve.
You seem so much lighter and happier in this video; we love to see it! ❤ Love the idea of going to the library once a month for a year and documenting it 🙌🏻❤️ And was so nice to get an insight into you doing your monthly plans for UA-cam and Patreon etc 👍🏼
Ohhh I love the word doc / calendar and planning part of this video!! I find it so much fun to get planned and organized like this! 😍 I agree though I’m tired of the short days with the sun going down so early lmao I’m ready for spring too!! It makes it so much harder to film when it gets dark so early 😅
omg i love playing House Flipper (similar to Powerwash Simulator in a lot of ways) while watching yt videos or listening to podcasts. this was so fun and cozy, i hope you do more!
I think doing a what I read from the library vlog idea is great. I do worry though that if you do it as a year long project then you’ll loose steam (I know I run out of steam with long projects and wouldn’t want it to end up burdening you if it’s a marathon video). A end of year highlights reel from this project would be a shout (maybe with bloopers as they’re always great 🤔)
Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉I'm looking forward to the next days. Christmas season ends on January 6th so I leave my tree up till then. Same for my wreaths. I want to enjoy all the days of Christmas. Most of my other decorations are more winter than Christmas so I leave them up till February
I love this video concept and if it's something that you enjoyed creating, I definitely hope to see more of these. I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that we click on your videos for you and, while your big projects are so fun to watch, your simpler videos like this one are equally enjoyable and you deserve to create more calming and relaxing stuff, as well. Glad to see you making positive, healthy adjustments. Happy New Year! ❤❤❤
Love this video 😊 Visiting the library is one of my favourite things to do, sometimes I reserve books but then when I go to collect them, I have a browse and end up picking more! 🙈 Will have to try it your way and stick to one book. The place you stopped for food looked amazing! I usually take my christmas decorations down a couple of days after christmas, I don't like having them up going into a new year.

the bookish lifestyle vlogs are my favorite! glad to see you hop on the trend too 💛
I usually wait till I absolutely have to take it down so like late January but this year I am getting a puppy!! So I have to take it down this weekend to get ready for him. I named him Ace after our beloved. ☺️❤️
i loved this vlog so so much gav !!! 2023 was a trainwreck of a year so i'm very excited to jump into a better, funner year with you and everyone else in this beautiful space that is booktube
We de-deck our tree and house usually right after New Year's. So...today's the day!! We are also watching Lord of the Rings tonight (the last one) *and* I hope to read What the River Knows this month. Happy New Year to you, Gavin!!
I love libraries! I saw Demon Slayer! 😍 Yum...garlic flatbread! I was challenged by one of my viewers to go to my library more in 2024 so I've set up a monthly reading vlog where I plan to check out a book, read, and review it for the vlog. Should be a fun time! So, yes. I fully support your getting a book a month at the library video idea! I'm excited for all of the 2024 plans! I hope I can catch more patreon stuff coming up because I've been pretty crappy at showing up this year haha.
Your videos have become such a great source of comfort from me in 2023. And this one is not an exception. So nice to see a cool library and a coze cafe. Especially because I'm at work yearning for a walk lol. Thank you for all the videos you gifted us this year! Happy New Year! We do not celebrate Christmas where I live, but we go hard for New Year, so the decoration stay on until like half of January if not later :)
21:28 could you maybe do a behind the scenes/ week in my life video? I really loved the one you made this year and it was actually the video that made me sub 😅🖤
This was such a great vlog Gavin! Thank you for January motivation of content planning! I have taken a few weeks off booktube but it’s time to get back into it 🥰📚
so proud of you gav, vlogging outside is overwhelming but it helps with anxiety, it would be so lovely to have a slice of life vlogs as a constant on the channel! just lowkey low stress cozy basic chores kinda vlogs. they're my favorite yt content actually.
Edit: now everytime you go to the church cafe i’m gonna think about shrek railing some *ussy 😭😭😭😭
I hope this does become a series Gavin, as long as it doesn’t overwhelm you! ❤
I LOVE thé idea of you doing a non-project video of just one book you are in the mood for and how it went/how you liked it! You deserve some lighter commitment projects (and honestly that’s more interesting to me that 1000 mediocre books in a specific series 😅)
I adored this vlog! More slice of life vlogs in 2024 is my vote! (But only if they make you happy 💚)
I’m so bad with getting too many books out of the library and then getting overwhelmed so you’re so smart to just get the one book at a time!!!
Please do more of these type of videos! I love reading vlogs / slice of life videos. It seems more "chill" and we get to just hang out with you going about your life. 🩶💙
Def my fav type of video! Seeing you out and about 😁
In my catholic country the Christmas 🎄 goes up on Christmas Eve and comes down on 6 Jan
I love libraries.
Same, and my local one is pretty good
Same 😊

I love all your videos but something about this vlog was just so great! I hope you do more of these every once in a while 💖
Your library is so cozy! I can’t believe they even have a cafe! I know it was closed but how cool!

Same here & I want to see your favorite spots specifically. Haven't been to Europe since the worldwide lockdown happened… I miss it! 😊
Love to see you being more kind to yourself! You already seem to be in much brighter spirits.

How I wish my library would separate the fantasy out from the rest of the fiction. Love these sort of vlogs. Happy New Year Gavin! 🎉

I think that vlog idea sounds great. I think booktube sleeps on the library ngl and I'm someone who maxes out my cards lol

You are an absolute joy! Getting my wine and snuggling in for 30 mins.
Love the library idea. I’m going to join you!
Gavin and life style vlogging: yes please! I really loved this.
i love cosy bookish slice of life vlogs so as long as you're comfortable with it, i'd love for this to become a series! also that church café is gorgeous and tikka masala pizza sounds amazing!
Gav your library bookshelf lights are everything. You should keep them up all year if you don't:) so cozy
That cafe looks AMAZING 😮
Good to hear your 2024 goals are mental health focused 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Loved seeing the library. I can't believe it has a café inside!
Taking down Christmas decorations either happens on New Year's Eve or Epiphany.

Me: "Yes, take care of your mental health, Gavin!" also me: *tries to finish 4 books in one day just to complete a reading goal*. (mostly manga, I'll be fine *insert the picture of the burning dog*)
I love this style of vlog and seeing you out and about. I"m excited to watch your January videos :)
I love power wash simulator! It’s so chill. And they do add on packs like Bikini Bottom off SpongeBob and the Tomb Raider mansion so you’ll have so much fun! Was so lovely to see you out and about really proud of you Gav x
I love the idea of visiting the library once a month and picking out one book to read. ❤
This was so cosy and wonderful, I loved it! And vlogging outside is HARD; you smashed it! 👏👏👏
I love that you're figuring out how to have a better year and reading experience.
I am only half way through this video, but I am LOVING it. I love this chill, casual, authentic Gavin. Glad you have decided to take care of yourself in 2024. Can’t wait to watch you evolve.
Power wash simulator is literally so relaxing and so so satisfying!! Really love this video Gavin - super cosy and wonderful xx
Yay for the library love
You seem so much lighter and happier in this video; we love to see it! ❤ Love the idea of going to the library once a month for a year and documenting it 🙌🏻❤️ And was so nice to get an insight into you doing your monthly plans for UA-cam and Patreon etc 👍🏼
Awww... Thanks for the shoutout. 🙂 I love this. I hope you will do more of these in the future.
Really liked the 'plan the month'. I am a planner babe, but I like the brainstorming idea once a month.
omg i love playing House Flipper (similar to Powerwash Simulator in a lot of ways) while watching yt videos or listening to podcasts. this was so fun and cozy, i hope you do more!
Most of my other decorations are more winter than Christmas so I leave them up till February

the bookish lifestyle vlogs are my favorite! glad to see you hop on the trend too 💛
This is the kind of content that makes me smile it always feels so genuine! 😁
I usually wait till I absolutely have to take it down so like late January but this year I am getting a puppy!! So I have to take it down this weekend to get ready for him. I named him Ace after our beloved. ☺️❤️
This was such a fun, cozy video! You are such a joy. ❤
It sucks the cafe was closed but it’s so cool your library has a cafe!!!!
Wait, a self service library? What? I’m… stunned. Flabbergasted even? Shook. Wow.
i loved this vlog so so much gav !!! 2023 was a trainwreck of a year so i'm very excited to jump into a better, funner year with you and everyone else in this beautiful space that is booktube
This is the best Gavin, thank you ❤❤
We usually take our decorations down after the new year, but we took the tree down yesterday this year because it had gotten really dry & droopy
Loved this vlog Gav! Such cosy vibes and was lovely to see you seem so happy ❤
I haven't even seen this video but I can't wait! So excited for the slice-of-life content. Love seeing you out and about🎉✨🥳
Happy New year & def looking forward to more of this type of content.
We de-deck our tree and house usually right after New Year's. So...today's the day!! We are also watching Lord of the Rings tonight (the last one) *and* I hope to read What the River Knows this month. Happy New Year to you, Gavin!!
I love libraries! I saw Demon Slayer! 😍
Yum...garlic flatbread!
I picked up the Mark Lawrence book too! 😁
Cooking - I find if I write out the meals for the week in my planner, I'm more likely to actually cook that night. It takes away the decision fatigue. I put on some Taylor Swift or an audiobook & cook quick/easy meals and get the bonus of leftovers for some reliciousness the next day. 😉
We typically take down Christmas decor the weekend of New Years. 🎄
Planning is my love language! 😂
Lol...kitties! 🐾
Ty for pointing out With Ali! I got the 5 year one in purple!
Spreadsheets make me so happy! 🤓
Loved this video! ❤️
I can't wait to see what u have in store for us in 2024
wonderful! I can't wait to get a cup of coffee and cozy up and watch!
Lol at "Twin Towers"
Loved this vlog!
But damn you got me stressed when you started to throw those Christmas decorations into the bag.
Omg I really want to read The Princess Diaries too!!!!!!
I loved this! The library looked amazing and I love that you’re doing what makes you happy!
this vlog was so wholesome and cosy 😊 my plans for next year might have to include joining your patreon because it seems like the cosiest good time! ❤
Oh wow great video Gavin. Beautiful church / cafe
I really love the idea of the year long library vlog! It sounds so cosy and chill and low pressure but still interesting 🥳
21:28 could you maybe do a behind the scenes/ week in my life video?
I really loved the one you made this year and it was actually the video that made me sub 😅🖤
Your library looks amazing. The one's in London are tiny and with barely any windows. All artificial lights 😅
This was such a cozy vlog. Mental health comes first or you can never enjoy your life to the fullest. Looking forward to your videos in 2024!
what an incredble outfit gavin!!!
I love this video, it's relaxing and kinda uplifting. I hope 2024 will be a better year for both of us (and anyone who is reading this).
This was such a great vlog Gavin! Thank you for January motivation of content planning! I have taken a few weeks off booktube but it’s time to get back into it 🥰📚
I loved this vlog from you so much! I feel like a nice cozy slice of life vlog like this would be and easy/low pressure once a month video slot in.
I love this type of content, chilling in cafés is the best! 😁
