    Nice video! :) I love seeing the rice fish. We only have one fish store close, about an hour away and they don't carry rice fish now but hopefully in the future. I have 3 small ponds that I would love to put them in. We have a heat pump in our house(South Carolina, USA) and it heats and cools the house.

    Regarding the AC question, in a lot of questions laced if you say “air conditioning” it refers to the cooling side. If you have the AC to “warm” you just have turned on the heat haha. Same thing my friend

    The split system that heats and cools the mini fish room should have a remote control device associated with it. I have one of those systems upstairs and it doesn't know if it is hot or cold outside. When winter arrives I set the remote to heat and when the humidity begins to rise during the summer I set it to cool. When it comes to hair all I know is that the more you have on your head during the winter the warmer you feel. Winter here lasts about two and a half to three months so just before the cold weather arrives I get my last hair cut. As the warmer spring weather begins to push the cold air back up to the north country where it belongs I start getting hair cuts again. I don't wear a hat. I'm going try a few outdoor ponds this year. I believe the fish do so much better outdoors. Great video update. Thank you.

    I am completely new to the fish world and have been watching your videos and learning so much. I want to do as you do and have the rice fish in bowls outside. I see you don't use a filter outside. Is it then that I would bring the fish inside in the winter? What temperature would I bring them in and would I then need a filter?

    • @RyoWatanabee

      No it’s not the same. Na water just removes chlorine and some toxins in tap water. Ro water does a lot more. It makes the tds very very low but I’m not so sure

    Hi Ryo, I live in Southern California. It gets to be about 38C in the summer and around 4C (sometimes) in the winter. Do you think I could keep medaka in a 100g stock pond under a patio? Do I need a filter or bubbler?

    • @RyoWatanabee
      @RyoWatanabee  4 роки тому

      Same temps here, it get colder here in the winter though. I leave my ricefish out all year round

  • @kenjiro2676
    @kenjiro2676 2 роки тому

    6:50, I think rice fish are as hardy as they are now because the winter helps cull off weaker fish. So even if there is a high degree of inbreeding, if you can at least maintain their immune systems and allow fish that survive to breed, the next generation of fish will inherit those good genes.
    If you continuously breed them in warmer water they will become weaker and will have a more narrower temperature range.
