When I export into aftereffects it changed my colour completely. I checked my export settings and the doc is in RBG so I'm not sure why thats happening. Any ideas?
@@LouisMoss I think I’ve seen on your channel your spinning LM logo, when it spins, the letters LM are never backwards. Think the word I was looking for is reflected haha, does that make any sense ?
@@ashleygiles1506 Ah yeah I get what you mean, You basically need to duplicate your rotating logo, cut it when it rotates 90 degrees, and then the second logo start it at 270 degrees and have it rotate 90 degrees. Cuts out the middle part of the rotation but still looks like it seamlessly loops! (Let me know if that helps)
I have made a cool light effect and outer glow from the Illustrator file but when I drag it into After Effects as a gltf file, It doesn't show my Illustrator effects at all:( How can I manage to show that? I follow your video tutorial :(
Standard effects will not carry over from Illustrator such as outer glows etc. But you can add those in After effects using the Glow effect (it will allow the asset to glow in a 3D space) Hope that helps
I can’t export the final file. When I try with background it says media encoder not installed which it is. When I add to render none of my programs can play the mov file. Please help
Make sure you have the latest media encoder so that the version matches the latest AE, and make sure that the export settings are correct. I think you can export MP4 directly from AE but the mov file wont work with standard programmes, should work if you open it in like VLC media player or if you drop it into a Premier Pro composition.. I have had a lot of export issues with the AE beta versions, but i'm pretty sure the latest standard version of after effects now lets you import 3D so that should have less bugs.
has anyone managed to follow the tutorial? the gltf file is blank for me when i put into the beta after effects? wondering if anyone has the same problem and managed to fix??
Only thing I can suggest is double checking the export settings from AI, also this is now a part of the standard After effects so try just using the latest version of that rather than the Beta, hope that helps :)
I just found this video to help me figure this process out and I realize this is months later but try turning off 'render as a vector' under the render settings. If you don't need the end result to be a vector file, it will give you MUCH cleaner results.
@@TimChoum @3:22 in this tutorial we're commenting on, you can see where it is on the screen under render settings and how to access the render settings.
No matter what I do in the export settings every time I drop it into After Effects with either Beta or Normal version nothing appears for me. Can anyone help ??
Update: You can now do this in the latest after effects update, no beta version required ✨
Genius. So easy!
u saved my life thank u
How did your 3d shape suddenly become so metallic looking when you worked on it in AE? Mine is super matte and not metallic looking at all:(
Nice video ! Thank you !
YOU ARE REALLY GOOD MATE!
Really useful. Thanks!
Love it. Thanks ❤
This did not work for me at all, need to figure out why
Try in the latest after effects, double check the correct 3D export settings (hope that helps)
When I add any kind of light, my gltf object turns completely black. anyone got an idea of a solution?
same here
Amazing, thank u!

Hello, sorry, what is the name of the font you used, where can I get it?
Great video man! Wondering if you could do a short about How to make it spin without having the logo be reversed?
Hey, what do you mean by reversed?

Double check you used the right export format in illustrator, and make sure you haven't expanded/flattened the layer (Hope that helps)
dude, you look just like the last album cover of a spanish singer called Quevedo it's scary!
What a good lookin' lad he is 😂
How does yours export so SHINY???
I followed the same steps and when I uploaded to after it said advanced 3d doesn’t work

Do you work as a graphic designer
I do indeed
It’s impossible for me to get the after effect beta on creative cloud (france) do you have solutions ?
I think this might be built into the latest AE now
What the e font?
when I put the text into after effects, it becomes waaay thinner than it was in illustrator. What can I do to fix this?
nvm, i figured it out :) Great tutorial bro!

why my AI dont have format gltf? :(
Have you got the latest version of illustrator? You need to export from the 3D panel not from the standard export menu, hopefully that fixes it ✨
Very cool video, thanks so much. The Edges are still quite rough. Is there anything within aftereffects to clean the edges, like antialiasing?
