- We are so excited to host this webinar with Stephen Gerringer and Bradley Olson about the newly released book, Myth and Meaning: Conversations on Mythology and Life, by Joseph Campbell.
Stephen, the editor of this new addition to The Collected Works of Joseph Campbell, compiled this work from little-known interviews and recordings of the lively discussion sessions that followed Campbell’s lectures. You’ll find chapters on topics ranging from the basics of mythology, to the relationships between myth and religion, psychology, and art, to Campbell’s own life and career.
We’ll hear directly from Stephen what it was like to edit this material, and we’ll learn about Bradley’s forthcoming book, The Mythopoetic Impulse: Selected Essays 2017-2022.

Congratulations on the 2 book's .wonderful news, it was in Hawaii Mr.Cambell was on t.v ,the power of myth, B.Moyers on Vermont t.v. 57years experience filming videos photography was when talked about the circle, i realized its the biggest mistake in branding photography images a few decades making circles because of Mr Campbell, I LOVE his personality reflects who iam Thank-you really enjoyed this video!

I did skip the lengthy intro, having 'met' (& read) you all before. Once your talktime grew focused, pointed, and dynamic, I was happily hooked, even madly noting down some spoken gems.. Delightful! Grateful for the Q&A's widening of the view of these two fine books. Preened myself much as Brad read out his pet paragraph, my own top-favourite from the essay "Dear and Gorgeous Nonsense". Pithy, tasty stuff: THANKS to all.
I wonder how Joseph Campbell would have reacted to a description of my journey. A pivotal moment in that journey was a result of reading his account of the Actaeon myth in his book 'Hero With a Thousand Faces'. I am Actaeon. I suffered that injury as a four year old boy. Anyone care to guess the effects? I've tried to tell my story but I've been rejected by the likes of Wikipedia and several magazines and newspapers. Seems like I present an inconvenient or unbelievable truth but Ovid, author of that myth, knew what he was talking about. Any psychologist or academic researcher of sexual development have any interest in learning more? I am considering writing a book of my experiences.
