  • Have you ever wished someone could just come along and fix your life? Yeah, us too! On today’s episode, we get deep with the star of “Iyanla, Fix My Life,” best-selling author, ordained minister, and mental health expert in her own right, Iyanla Vanzant. We’re not shying away from the heavy stuff: codependency in relationships, healing from trauma, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. Iyanla shares some of the real-life stories of people she has encountered throughout her journey of helping people grow and heal. Plus, Sharon gets real about her thoughts on Keke going to therapy.

Lol her business is out here, which is why she invited her. And I am so glad she invited her, because the “podcasters” think they ate. People can talk about any and everything, BUT can they show their work? Ya know? I love these moments for those of us.

Same! That totally jumped my mind into some moments where, I may have made peace with it all to get on, I had to accept that my un requested “help,” exchanges made with others -void of communication from both parts, often times was some toxic bull under the guise of my own delusional good intentions. Working on self acceptance, valuing myself, enforcing and defining boundaries while effectively communicating and understanding what folks are communicating and asking of me is where I believe I need to hone in on

The therapist usually work on that person first to get to the root of what caused the emotional problems and then slowly bring key people in to discuss the issues. If you were a key person then You were supposed to go to a session when the therapist deemed it. YOU are not perfect either because YOU are human.

Her mom said some real stuff!! If you go to the WRONG counselor you can go through a whole lot of stuff. I had one counselor re-traumatize me and created new trauma. So yea you have to absolutely be careful and if you don’t feel comfortable with the counselor that your with get rid of them immediately don’t keep going back trying to see if it will get better. PLEASE DONT DO THAT. You may have to go through a few of them before you can find the right one and that’s okay.

I loved every second of this episode ♥️
When I read Iylana’s book “yesterday I cried” it… SHE changed my life! I had so many skeletons buried and so much hurt and pain bottled up, that I cried for 6 year old me and Rhonda, & then again for 22 year old me and Iyanla’s liberation. I began to have the hard conversations with myself about MYSELF and my very dysfunctional family. I will always be grateful to the Divine Creator and Establisher of ALL for enveloping her spirit and allowing her to come through those moments of discourse, so that her light could shine bright and her voice of truth could be introduced to the world so the universal healing could emerge!

I got tired of complaining, counseling, coaching trying to fix the situationship that I was involved in over 3 yrs. 🤦When person I once knew of was emotionally unavailable! Kept trying to rebuild the person unto my standards. 🤦Until it broke me down emotional trauma. And knowing the first day meeting this individual, God showed me a lot of red flags. 🤦Being disobedient and knowing God gifted me with discernment😪 was my punishment of leaving out of God will on pleasing man. 😢 Me going off of emotions of picturing myself in the other person position , than knowing God wasn't a part of this plan from the beginning. Now, I am healing in all areas. Dating will never be the same for me anymore. Wish Keke could bring me in on her podcast! Its so many stories just of my entire life from childhood that's hidden. Ima probably need to make my own podcast on interviewing myself 🏌️on bringing awareness. But the only problem I am still healing, and these tears 😭 of mines kept be held bck.. Don't wanna go b4 the world like this..🌎 🎤

A bigger issue is thinking that toxic free means perfect.
No, we are suppose to live toxic free lives. It’s possible and you don’t have to be perfect to simply choose it.
The problem is people think they NEED other people to LIVE. So when you think ‘who’s perfect’, you’re thinking you always gotta choose people who are not toxic free when they are choosing to be that way.
There are people NOT making that choice on purpose because they wanna live toxic free lives AND WE DO THE WORK to be in toxic free and safe environments. They don’t just appear. They are created by boundaries and better choices of awareness and ACTION.
It’s Perfect progress EVERY day we do the work to LIVE.

This is definitely a two version virgo conversion. Inquisitive & all-knowing. I appreciate the questions keke asked and the answers IV gave. Very insightful & enlightening conversion.
