Out of everything that I have ever watched from way back until now, from the plays, shows, and movies, there is only one thing I absolutely will not watch, and that's saying something because I have followed him for 2 decades

Please watch the short movie The Strange Thing About The Johnsons from 2011 that is available on UA-cam and that has an entire black cast and is a thriller. Then after you watched that remind yourself Tyler Perry is a billionaire and has written a scene in a movie where a black woman falls off a boat into the water when its pitch dark and miraculously gets back on the boat a few minutes later without any explanation and her clothes and hair are both dry as well when she shows back up on the boat

I don't consider myself to be a highbrow critic, I'm just tired of the same story TP puts out and just stick to the Madea movies. Appears ppl watch for whatever reason and gets the numbers. So keep doing you but so insinuating we don't know that person etc...we don't need to see the said story over & over in a movie.

This interview cracked something open for me…
Knowing that Tyler writes not only from one character's point of view, but to focus on the internal message of the character, really does explain a lot about how his filmmaking unfolds.
If we all had the privilege and the resources to create and distribute our art uninterrupted, and without the need to check-in with anyone. I believe a lot of us would take that opportunity.
Tyler is working within his own standards, seemingly outside of the standards many would like him to. However, he is an artist and this is his art.
Most of his art (films/tv production) deals with relationships, whether it be romantic or family relationships. The least we can do, if we choose to support, is take the deeper message and explore how it relates to how we engage and connect to one another.

So man I am chopping this interview UP with my husband. Starting it, stopping it and discussing these gems with my husband and teenage daughter. The part about ownership….So my husband and I have written a true story (book) about ourselves as being single and then married. We are constantly receiving good feedback about the book since day one. So my idea was to start a webisode first which would be using what you have. But people in the industry would say that our message is worth more than a play or webisodes. Tyler just said to start small and at least you own it! As he has looked at other individuals that’s created some hits but got paid Pennie’s on the dollar.
I’m so grateful when successful people who have made it come back and spread knowledge. KeKe keep doing your thing. The questions that you ask are good for us all!

Allow Tyler Perry to express these stories as he sees it. They are his expression. He is the artist. And through his storytelling, many stories are be told. I’m glad he knows to keep telling what he wants to tell. How dare people try to tell him what do with his craft. Baby please. Did anybody tell Picasso what color to use in his painting next?! Did somebody tell him they “tired of him using the same colors? No! Let him work. And as he does his thing, other doors will be opened for them to do THEIR work. Let him do his and you do yours.

Good points. Many of us are just starting out while comparing ourselves with those who are established and much farther along with many more resources.

I love when the interview appreciates and has value for the subject. It radiates through in the questioning and the dialogue flows. It’s awesome to see the adoration both of them have for one another.

These were the very words I needed to hear to start my project. I wanted it to be perfect and before I show the world, but I'm just going to do the best with what I have now! Thank you Miss Key and Mr. Perry!!

Thank you God! This was so timely for me. I appreciate every bit of this episode. I recently made a choice to resign from my job and invest in me… though I had a bit of angst I know I am
    Making the right choice.

I TRULY appreciate Tyler Perry and the impact that his artistry has had on my life. He should ignore the naysayers and continue with his righteous works. His core audience has gratitude for him because his works are therapeutic and life-changing..

I know you won't see this but I work a 9-5 while running one business and getting ready to start another. This episode was EVERYTING!!! Then you gave the example of the therapist, WHEW, I am a therapist and everything you are saying is what I am working on. The entire episode was great, but those for 15 min truly spoke to me today!
