Q: How do you fade your tile in google meet? Meaning if you are in a meeting and you don't tap the spacebar your tile will fade out. How do I activate this? @CharliesLessons
Great video, but as a tutor for children, I'm concerned about the lack of support for students who don't have a Google account. Is there a way to share another whiteboard with the students? Can I share other screens, and if I do, can they manipulate the objects? Or will they only be able to see the board? Thanks for your help with this!
I'm afraid that Google Meet forces people to use Google accounts, I guess it's as they want people to use their services. I'm not familar with other whiteboards to be able to make a recommendation.
Hi, thank you very much for the video. I wonder if several teachers can use the same google account and have meetings at the same time. You mentioned that you are a school owner. I wonder how you manage to schedule the small meeting when you have several teachers who can teach at the same time.
Having multiple teachers using the same Google account wouldn't be possible without sharing the login credentials with each teacher. If you have a meeting that several teachers need to teach, then I would create the meeting and then "invite" them. This way it would show up on their Google calendar and they can join.
thanks....I normally use zoom but since some students dont have zoom installed it is alway a good idea to have an option that doesnt require students to have an app installed
Thank you for the guidance, I was finding it difficult to do this However, I would like to know if the link I have created , can I use it on another pc ? , iam a student who is yet to do an an investigated exams and was required to create a google meet link that will allow them to access all that I will be doing, so I created the link using someone’s pc but with my email address though, just wondering if it will work on another pc during the exam or not
The link you create is linked to an account, not to a physical address or a PC. Just log on to the same account from the other PC and you should be fine.
Hi thanks for the video. When I use my laptop and I want to share the Windows screen the share button is not shown. But when I use my desktop computer I have the share button. What should I do?
I am very late since you posted this video almost a year ago. Thank God it's still here. Very helpful. Please advise, how do I use PowerPoint on Google Meet?
You can only share content within Google Chrome, so the short answer is no. You can however, upload your powerpoint presentation to Google Drive and convert it to Google Slides. You'll need to tweak the formatting and other things but otherwise it's your best option.
Hi Charlie. Thankyou for this informative video. I have a question - While I share my screen lets say one note , I need to keep working on one note but also want see the faces of my students to keep a check on them :-P ( zoom has this feature ) How can I do that in Google meet?
Hello. I am an English teacher on an online platform. The platform does require that I consider Google Meet as well as 3 other options for holding classes. I have to choose 2. I have Google Meet as an option. (Whereby is my other option). However, today upon beginning to work on this platform for the very first time, I was not able to use Google Meet -- it kept asking me to ask permission to join. ?? Ask permission from myself???? Quite embarrasing because the student was trying to help me and told me I have "to join as the host'--- but I was in my own gmail account and was trying to access it thru that with Google meet link and pasting in the link and I also tried just putting the Google Meet link I have stored on the platform (as the platform has asked me to do-- keep that particular classroom link stored in my profile and when a student books me, and they choose to use Google Meet, the student is given that classroom link to Google Meet. I was not able to join my student in my own classroom.... I suppose it was because I was trying to paste the link into the "Enter a code or a link" ???? Was that the reason?
Firstly, thanks for the detailed explanation of the problem. It sounds like you're using the link to join as a student rather as the host. The shareable link is the one you use to give to students. Have you tried opening Google Calendar to start the meeting? Every time you set up a class on Google Meet, an event is created on Google Calendar at the time and date you have the class. Click on the Google Calendar event and start the meeting from there. Also, are you 100% sure you weren't logged in with a different Google account? Always check the profile icon in the top left hand corner and ensure it's you.
HI, Charlie. I'm watching your video and it really is good but at 2.07 minutes into the video, you say "if you click on here" and you open into another page (open into an event, did you say?), I can't see where you clicked). Please advise.
This is from the Google Meet start page. I believe I click on the 3rd option when you click on 'New Meeting', the 3rd option says 'Schedule in Google Calendar'.
Hello; I seem unable to show or present an open PDF (student's book). I seem only able to share a tab that I have open on Chrome. I need to be able to present pdfs. Any ideas? Thanks.
i still dont udnerstand why I cannot share a PDF file or Power point and share audio at the same time .. when I share my screen the students dont hear anything on their side.....
@@CharliesLessons I have watched 20 videos and there is no solution that I can find...as a teacher you know a lot of the time you are sharing a pdf and doing a listening based on the pdf...i can find no way to do both at the same time!!...you either have a pdf with no listening or listening with no pdf !!!😓... I am clicking around like I am in the space shuttle but to no avail....many people have the same problem...can you tell me how you do it?...make a video too...you will get a lot of views
Thank you for this informative video. It was very clear. But the problem I have is not mentioned here. My problem is when I am sharing a screen I can see the screen and the class at the Google Meet page but while I am on this page I cannot control the screen I am sharing. In order to stop and start the video I am sharing I have to switch to the tab that the video is on. Has anybody else got this problem, or am I missing something??? .
I don't get why this is not viral yet. Thank you so much! You helped me a lot!
What a great comment! Thanks!

@CharliesLessons
Very easy to follow! I'm doing my own video about Google Workspace so I appreciate the video!
Glad it was helpful!
Really great tutorial thank you. Straight to the point and covered all the basics.
That was my plan when recording the video, so I'm glad you saw it like that.
This was well put together! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done! Thanks for teaching all these tips and tricks.
My pleasure!
Thank you,very nicely explained.
So nice of you
Very useful. Thanks for posting, Charlie. I'll be staying with Zoom for the time being. The breakout rooms maximise student talking time.
You're right, breakout rooms are a must.
I love how practical the information is and your delivery/presentation.
Thank you, that comment means a lot!!
You nailed it. Thank you so much.
So glad!
Interesting!
How to make annotations sir?Do I need a pen tablet?
You can’t annotate on google meet I’m afraid
Thank you for this great tutorial.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the great video. Is there an annotate feature like in Zoom?
In Meet, not that I know of

Hello Charlie! Many thanks for the tutorial! Just want to know, is possible for a saved lesson to be forwarded by students ( to outsiders)?
When you say saved lesson, do you mean the recording?
Very helpful sir
Thanks and welcome
Thanks, it is very educative.
You are welcome
Thanks!
No problem!
Gret Tutorial, Just wants to know when we shared the screen can participate annotate on the screen like zoom app
I'm afraid Google Meet doesn't currently support on-screen annotation, like Zoom.

There shouldn't be a difference between a laptop and a desktop computer. What kind of laptop is it?

Amazing video, thank you! Can you create breakout room in Google meet?
I'm afraid that feature is only available on the premium version.
Awesome
Thanks man!

Why isn't there more useful face filters like smoothing? I keep reading there is beautiful filter but it's nowhere top be found.
I don't think Google Meet has those features yet.
You can use the logitech app to do it or OBS studio.
Many thanks for guild
I want to know how to use google meet with smart TV
Do you have guideline or not? pro
I'm sorry but I'm not aware of any compatibility between those two devices.

How to transfer the host , once a link is created
Make the change in Google Calendar, select meeting, options then change owner
@@CharliesLessons if not in calendar?
Awesome Explanation and Awesome English Accent.
Thanks for the feedback, although for the accent you'll have to thank my parents!
I am really struggling with gmeet I use it as i have workspace, but zoom seems much easier
It can be difficult to switch from one platform to another, especially if you're used to how one works.
Can I have a premium version even if I'm an independent tutor and not a business?
You’d need to purchase it but yes.

Can you not open the PDF within Chrome?
I will try, thanks!@@CharliesLessons
Is there a way i can disable students from changing their names once they have joined?
Not as far as I'm aware.
How do you write on the whiteboard?
You need to open a 3rd party whiteboard as I explain the video. There should be a pen tool.
i still dont udnerstand why I cannot share a PDF file or Power point and share audio at the same time .. when I share my screen the students dont hear anything on their side.....
You must click the checkbox in the bottom right hand corner that says 'share audio' before you share your screen.

To control the screen you'll always need to do it from the Google Meet page itself.

Its nice,oke!, & safe

Please does this apply for Android???
What's "this"?
@@CharliesLessons every you explained in the video above
I explained everything from the web app version of Google Meet. I'm afraid I can't provide information on the android version.
nobody is explaining simple things: how to anex a doc, present a video, a ppt presentation or a photo
Thanks for the suggestions, you've given me some ideas!!!
