We missed you too. I'm so sorry to hear of the experience you had. I do believe the Universe guides us to where we should go. However we have free will, so you choose based upon your intuition. I have noticed you're getting the Palindrome numbers in your videos and so am I. I wish you lots of Love, Light, and a Multitude of Blessings! 🙌 ✨️ 🙏 ❤️
When Americans think they want to live in Johannesburg, I'm always curious why they chose Johannesburg over Cape Town. Can you answer that same question?
First off round of applause for Jas, This was such an enlightening, remarkable, and fun Vlog! I was tickled when you tried the sheep head. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Happy belated birthday 🎉.

I love that you showed your many experiences in SA. The Soweto tour you had was the exact one me and my daughter had, it was so memorable and the food was good. However, I wish I drove in the safari like you guys, it would have been so much more fun! 💜
I think it's all about perception because I've seen slum neighborhoods in Chicago I've seen them in Mexico I've seen them in the D.R I think it's all across the globe there's always going to be rich neighborhoods in poor neighborhoods and some are lucky enough to never know the difference I guess. Take Las Vegas for example in the US the strip is full of multi-million dollar hotels but there's a whole community of homeless people living beneath them in tunnels. It makes no sense right how can a city that generates so much money not have anywhere for these people to go for some of them it's a personal choice but not all. They're down there living in the slums. Africa gets a bad rap and it's sad because it is beautiful, to me it's like anywhere else in the world where you have good neighborhoods and not so nice neighborhoods. Anyways glad to finally see this experience I've been waiting on this update/vlog for a while ❤️

As a long time viewer, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be your place but I'm still sad for you that it didn't turn out how you wanted.. I ❤❤South Africa, been twice. The history, the beautiful spirit of the people, the food, the wine. If I was younger I would move there. My second trip we did the garden tour!!! Sending my ❤ to South Africa.🙋🏾♀
I love seeing that you showed the different levels of culture and included some history. I felt like I was on the journey with you and glad you had a blast
Thank you for being honest. As someone who moved out of this US, I can identify with all of the ways you don't quite feel at home in SA. Being an ambitious black american woman is puts you in a different category for sure. Also, I feel like people who do content around travel try really hard to either make everything look like paradise or the opposite. I really appreciate your candor and pov
@@dinaledi4085 Personally, I moved to Europe where a lot of black men haven't had many opportunities so it's hard to find someone who is earning equal or more than you, to partner with. Culturally, I feel like there is an expectation that I not be as self-confident or that I should act more 'humble' solely because I'm black. But growing up in the US has taught me that my dreams and aspirations are not unattainable and that I do have the right to pursue what I wish. Not sure about SA but I can empathize with Jasmine's frustrations around partnering and culture shock in that aspect.
@pivotwithme I can assure that highly educated and wealthy black women are not an anomaly in SA so she wouldn't be in a category of her own here. 7 of the top 10 universities in Africa are in SA and those campuses are dominated by black SAn women. We have the highest number of black female politicians and parliamentarians on the continent . We have black female professionals from STEM to the Military . The first black female Navy captain in SA was a black SAn .We have black female mine owners , wine makers etc. The first African female fighter pilot is a black SAn. Mind you this is not new. The first African female to acquire a Science degree in the US was a SAn called Charlotte Maxeke and that was in the early 1900s. Black SA men were already going to the US universities because SA wasn't allowing blacks to study further. and they made it possible for black females to follow. Black SA men love ambitious women that's why our BEE policies even grant a high score to black female owned businesses. It would be laughable for any woman in SA to say she can't find a black man because she can't find a black man to match her financial status or level of education.
@pivotwithme I can assure you that black SAn dollar millionaires both male and female are not an anomaly in Johannesburg. If you can't see them then you are simply not in the multimillionaire circles. Who's fault is that ?

Wow this is strange im glad i got to see this video, all i see from people when they go to south africa is how nice it is Cape town and Johannesburg so beautiful and they fail to show that 5 minutes away from the rich side is the slums. Hi 😊South African here! Mr Linda was a great friend and tour guide for you but I just want to add something. Not all townships are like that as he stated. There are different parts just like in the states but Alex is one do those bad ones. South Africa is huge and we have different types of lives. All the best with your travels.

As an African in US for decades I have experienced if not worse what you have experienced in SA. I have had African Americans friends break their promise, stood me down, no showing up, cancel plans at last minute and not pay me back money I borrowed them including my former pastor. I cannot begin to count time I have given a Black brother a business and was disappointed by service, somebody will claim to be a plumber but end up doing more damage than fixing or getting paid and disappear before completing the task. I remember my days in college when I was doing entrance level service jobs, some Black customers would not only tip me less but also display uncivil, over demanding, and rude behaviors. The Africa left when I moved to diaspora has changed, people nowadays are more dishonesty. materialistic and less communal change, I have also met many good AA; it means good and bad apples are in every society and SA is not exceptional.
I loved the video and the one with your friend from Canada, man remind me of my narrow mishaps in the past. Now as someone who is an Army veteran and has lived in two different states, and years ago for a year in South Korea and 4 yrs in Hawaii, its natural to get homesick. And as an older woman dont pay attention to haters(some are jealous)or people who think that its ok to say.anything to another adult just because they are older.Thats crap and I’ve told my 25 yr old daughter the same thing(I’m 52 be 53 on Feb 9th) about other older women she has worked with in the past.Even though as her mom,I’m very opinionated about her,but she’s my daughter. You should be proud of yourself for traveling(I’ve tried to get my daughter to do some traveling though she has traveled in the past with family)and dont ever let anyone make you feel bad about how you are feeling about any situation in your life or settle for less.I’m sure you’re get more younger subscribers in the future too. Just keep being yourself and you will find the right country to make your home base
Every country has the riches and the poor, the good and the bad the suburbs and ghettos, the nice people and the bad one. I love my beautiful beloved country South Africa ❤❤❤despite the bad leadership.
Jasmine, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I haven't finished watching the entire video yet. But I experienced a similar reaction as yours when I visited Cuba recently. The poverty there was something I had never witnessed before. The amount of poverty was very overwhelming, and though we brought supplies to distribute to the people there, you leave feeling like this is not enough. Like you, I was lost for words to describe what I was witnessing. But, also wondering what more can I do. Once again, thank you for sharing your raw reaction. I hope it encourages others to travel and motivates them to share their gifts and talents in an way to help others.
Thanks for your honesty, Jas. There is no place like home. Maybe you need to visit your family for a couple of weeks until your next adventure. Aquarius is in the building! Happy Birthday mines is on 2/2

Has so glad I found you! Love your vlogs! I can listen to you all day. You are an inspiration. Can’t wait to see where you end up.
Th as for sharing your experiences! Nice camera work! ❤
Child, you just saw the legacy of apartheid 😢 it's something that will take years to be undone. Remember, our democracy is no more than 40 years old.
No more than 30 years! 😮😮
Its 30 years old.
Thank you for giving your authentic, honest experience. I am glad you gave yourself time to feel Johannesburg out. Keep doing you!!❤❤
Missed you Jasmine! I really enjoyed this video and your breakdown/update. Can we get more videos with this format?
Every country has the riches and the poor, the good and the bad the suburbs and ghettos, the nice people and the bad one. I love my beautiful beloved country South Africa ❤❤❤despite the bad leadership.
Hope it gets better!
I really enjoy the music in your vlogs!
This is great! So glad you are back on from your break, missed you!
Hey Jasmine. Thanx for the great video. Have missed you. Glad youre safe.❤
Girl! This vlog was so good and you look beautiful!
Great to see you making meaningful connections. I am enjoying your content.
I cant wait to get back to SA!
WATCHED the whole thing. loved it and thank you for your honesty on how you feel about living in SA
Thanks for your honesty, Jas. There is no place like home. Maybe you need to visit your family for a couple of weeks until your next adventure. Aquarius is in the building! Happy Birthday mines is on 2/2
No place like home!?!?????Do you see the temperature of USA right now! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤯🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ we don’t know what’s gonna happen here from one day to the next! With the 🍊 in office!! Who is rapidly rolling out project 2025 right on top of us!!😢
Oh and… Happy Belated Birthday! Wishing you well always! 🎉🍾🥂
It's sad that only Vilakazi str gets highlighted for Soweto. Winnie Mandela's house, where she stayed until her passing is literally down the road from Vilakazi Str, although it's not open to the public but it is visible from one of the side roads.
Little lesson to pronounce Soweto: say 'So-where-toe'😂
Loving this whole trip Jasmine! ❤❤❤
1st……love you Jasmine still watching just wanted to say first lol😂 great video I’m glad you found that guy to take you around.
Thank you for sharing ❤
I moved here a year ago from Miami. That said, I was born here and lived in America for 30 yrs. Coming back was the best decision ever, I am happy. All the best to you 😘

The ongoing request for the team meeting is sending me😂😂😂 this vlog was so entertaining to watch! And so informative! Thank you for sharing your SA experience with us! Super helpful for me. I’m planning to spend a couple of months there soon
Lol! They use to have the air by the pumps in USA when the stations were full service. You can still find a few.
yes been global traveling solo and with kids for over 25 years...love living internationally now and enjoying different realities.
All of this! I have been living in Cairo for 2 months and it has made me appreciate Black American culture SOOOOOO much...
And shes back!! We have been waiting! ☺️ I liked the golf spot! Restaurant and golf!
Loved the vlog! Your guide was great!
Yea parts of SA I'll never forget and hearing some of the history, what Mandela lived through and still had love in his heart. It was mind blowing 🤯. I went last year, hope to go again for sure.
Great video. I love love your videos. Glad you're back from your break.
❤hi Jazmine 👋 Happy belated birthday 😘🎉 I truly believe your heart lies in the place where you felt the most at peace, calm, and had that spiritual connection. Don't rush. It will reveal itself in due time, much success 🙌 ❤
Missed you too! Finally your back! 😊
Great video! You have a good tour guide. I am glad he took you to Alexandra township
Not all town ships are like Alexander, I also live in a township it's nowhere close to what Alex is. Alexander is also chocking to us who are residing in other townships. It all about the life style in alex it's a different kind of lifestyle even the people there behave differently. Above all it's all about The people ❤
😂😂😂 bra a manga kuwe yoooh…
Coming from Soweto, I thought I was the only one shocked by Alex.
What type of cameras do you use?
Thanks for the video. Love hearing about SA from your perspective. Looking forward to your next video already. 😁 Is Instagram where you primarily post your videos? I’m not on Instagram, but would like to see more of your content as I have seen all of your videos on UA-cam. You are a natural, with a great attitude and positive spirit. I am a fellow traveler and appreciate the info and view you provide. Keep it up girl!
How much was cost for food at restaurants. I will go look at your PDC video.
BTW. I solo travel all the time. I am solo traveling to SA in Feb🇿🇦
I'm so sorry for the horrible experience with airbnb 😢l know how it was and I'm sending healing and love ❤️
