I enjoyed your video. I was on holiday in northern ireland last week and drove past the swanhole about 4 times. My family are from Newtownards. I used to pike fish there as a boy before the syndicate. I caught some beautiful roach and rudd in the river quoile at downpatrick and hybrids and roach in lough erne. Glad you enjoyed swanhole.
@@FishingwithSteveIreland it's all about learning to suss out a new water and find out the moods of the fish. Where and when do they feed and what on. That other fisherman who helped with the quad will surely pass on some good tips and then it is all about confidence in what you are doing. I look forward to the next video
Steve I’m no Carp angler but I couldn’t help notice you put all your eggs in one basket. Three baits all fished on 4ft of water. Would you not try three different depths to keep your options open to the fish potentially being deeper?? Looks a lovely lake nice video once again.
Unfortunately on that particular swim on the lake there wasn’t any deeper water. Right in front of me, as far as I could fish was 3.5 - 4ft. It’s a fairly universal depth. So no drop offs or ledges to fish too. So the areas I fished were clear spots about 6ft wide that I had found in the weed. On the back of very large, deep weed beds. Some of the other swims on the lake have options to fish to the road wall that has deeper water and drop offs. I’ll be looking at those the next time I’m up there.
Nice one Steve! What a shame about the alarms! If you ever get stuck like that again you should drop a message I’m sure myself or someone local could have hooked you up for the weekend! Nice to see Rob’s fish as an ending too he’s doing well on there! Cheers Darrell
Cheers Darrell, seen your nice 30lber from there during the week. This was recorded before you caught your one 😜. I got sorted with a new set of Delkims now so hopefully I won’t have any more issues.
@@FishingwithSteveIreland hard to beat the Delkims buddy! If you ever do get stuck for kit don’t be afraid to pm me 😀 your a long way from home! Thanks mate I can’t believe another 30! Hope to see you down again soon bud! Great video
@@FishingwithSteveIreland Tiny bit of phone footage of releasing it and it on the mat on its own but I have found it hard to get motivated to video on the work overnighters wish I had as I’ve had about 12 bites on swanny in recent sessions though landing them is the other half of the battle. I do agree with you it is my favourite place! Dromore is stunning too

Yeah it’s a lovely spot. Hopefully next time out I may actually get some carp.
