    How to use with Reaper or other DAWs on PC:
    -- Download and install the ASIO Driver v1.2 for Windows from the ef-note website.
    -- Connect USB
    -- In Reaper, go to Options > Preferences > Audio > Device, and select ASIO in Audio System, then select "ASIO 2.0 EFNOTE" in ASIO Driver.
    -- -- Make sure Enable Inputs is set for "First = Channel 1/2 L" and "Last = Channel 7/8 R" (ie. Audio 1 = "Channel 1/2 L", Audio 2 = "Channel 1/2 R", Audio 3 = "Channel 3/4 L", etc.)

    Michael, I would like to use the EFNote for Zoom lessons. Probably a fairly common use case. Could you suggest ways to route the signal? I would like the Zoom listener to hear the EFNote, my usb headset & mic and possibly any background audio playing from the computer. The Video is supplied by a stand alone webcam that has the built in mic turned off. The mixer I was using was software based, but the software keeps crashing, so wanted to use an external audio interface like Scarlett i414 which has midi in and out. Apologies if this is already on UA-cam somewhere.

    I have a MacBook Pro, and Logic Pro X. I tried both the 5-pin DIN midi out cable from the module back (by 5-pin to USB-C cable), and the micro USB connection on the side. Should they function the same? MacBook Pro doesn't see the EFNote 5X as an input. Also, what exact audio routing settings needed on the module, should I change something there? I have no midi, or audio on the Macbook side (through the USB outs). Preferences mic. is allowed on settings. What should I do? Thank you.

      Thanks for your question. The cable needed for USB Audio and USB MIDI is a Micro USB to USB 2.0(High Speed). in you DAW settings, make sure that both your input and output options are sent to EFNOTE. Also in your mac System Preferences, make sure input and output are set to EFNOTE. Do not use the 5 pin DIN cable and USB MIDI at the same time. If you're using the 5 pin DIN for MIDI, a simple midi cable from the EFNOTE output to whatever DIN input setup you have should work, an interface with MIDI In/Out and whatever MIDI host you're using.

      Hi AC, If you want to use the all 8 channels of USB from the EFNOTE, they are fixed to input channels 1 - 8, so if you want to record more channels than that simultaneously, your second interface is going to have to be able to send from channel 9 on up. That or is you want to use 2 or 4 channel sends from the EFNOTE, you'll have more channels open for other instruments, depending on your secondary interface.

One was to show it as an option, as all of the other audio tracks coming from the drum were USB Audio and not USB MIDI. The second reason was to show the blending in of the VST to the sound of the EFNOTE drums, as it's a great easy option to expand the sounds just by plugging and playing.

    This is a total noob question but I am on the verge of getting the 3x and I don’t fully understand what 8 channels of audio means. The 3x has 10 pads, and what if you expand and add pads? Does that mean some of the channels will have more than one of the instruments on it?

    • @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
      @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica  8 місяців тому

      Hi Stanley, all questions are good! What it means is 8 channels of Audio outputs to route however you like. In recording, usually your overhead mics are capturing multiple cymbals, and even though they are capturing drums, they are EQ'ed toward high and mid frequencies, because that's what cymbals are producing. You then use the close mics on toms to get the needed fullness with EQ.
      So when recording a 3X into a DAW like protools or Logic Pro X, here is a great way to do your output routing from the 3X.
      1. kick
      2. snare
      3. hi hat
      4. tom 1
      5. tom 2
      6. toms 3 and 4
      7-8. (stereo) cymbals (pan your stereo image in the module then send to the DAW)

      In your module, select Menu > Settings > AUDIO PAD and make sure your kick and snare channels are set to mono 1 and mono 2. the Value knob scrolls both mono and stereo. If you have layered your kick or snare, you have to also make sure the second layer is mono as well, by staying in the AUDIO PAD page and selecting PAD on the left. Then select VP1 or whatever Virtual Pad you're using to layer, and route it accordingly.

    • @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
      @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your question Marcelo. You can go into an interface a few different ways. 2 ch analog, 4 ch analog, USB 2 ch, 4 ch or 8 ch Audio and USB MIDI at the same time. your interface just needs to have enough available channel inputs to line in all of the channels. A simple 4 channel interface can accommodate 2CH of EFNOTE and bass and guitar on ch3 ad ch4.

    • @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica
      @ArtesiaProNorthAmerica  2 роки тому

      @@MarceloMichelliif you used a male to male splitter (2 mono male on one end, 1 stereo male on the other) you can use line level CH1-2 out of the module and sum them down to the stereo male end going onto the audient id4 mkii . (this will be a mono drum track). Then us CH2 on your interface for the other instrument cable. That's not really an optimal way to do this but it can be done. In order to be able to separate instruments into tracks, you need available channels on the interface. So a 4 channel mixer would accomodate 2 channels of drums, bass or guitar and 1 mic.
