The EFNOTE Series of eDrums are a JOY to play!! I spent time on this kit just the other day and the cymbals are appropriate and pleasant!!! Tom-size-appropriate offerings are refreshing for an eKit as well! The internal samples are incredible! Clean toms from a Bebop/Jaz to rock!! The finish is nice to look at but it IS a wrap…no wood finishes YET. No hot-spotting anywhere on the drums AND the cymbals trigger AND cutoff ALL the way around the circumference. All but the china feature triple-zones. Nice stuff!!!!
Yeah we found that out after we published it. We edited the description to mention the firmware update. Thanks for pointing it out in the comments though!
Suddenly my VAD 507 feels a bit inadequate 😂 just kidding, I barely leave my house so what I have is fine for years and years. I do love idea of this kit and what EFNOTE is doing. The HH articulation on this seems great. I love 3 zone cymbals and really think the out of box sounds are also quality as well.
Hi from Australia - I bought the Pro module and I am testing it with my existing Efnote 5 kit setup. The hi-hat calibration issue is fixed for me when flashing to v1.05 firmware via the USB port. While I admit the sounds are of a higher resolution vs the Efnote 5 module, and this is especially obvious with the snare drums - I do have to question some of the decisions for dropping existing Efnote 5/7 sounds and replacing them with others - and removing a few of the features. Ok, they removed ambience - that's fine, use a bus or external plugin - so a non-issue really, but why remove this entirely when you could just use it if you wanted to or simply turn it off like the compression. They totally removed the Yamaha Beech toms but kept the kicks and snare. Those Yamaha Beech toms were the best toms for rock music in my opinion especially when used with appropriate EQ and an Element Attack virtual pad overlay. Speaking of the VPs, you can no longer adjust the EQ on them - this is a HUGE issue as you can no longer blend boosting or reducing frequency ranges. The Ping Ride which I liked a lot is also gone, but that wasn't on the Efnote 7 either. Same with the DC Maple Snare missing, as they only included the high pitch version. That's basically 60% of my preferred rock sound setup missing from the Pro module vs Efnote 5 - only the New Beat Hats, Crashes and Kick remain. I personally do not like any of the new OC sounds in the Pro module and would do anything to get those Beech toms and Ping Ride back. Overall there are lots of improvement, but some really weird choices made by Efnote as well. I'm back to using the Efnote 5 module for now at home because if you just want to practise or play along with backing tracks, this is still the better home module. When I want to use the Pro module for any studio or gig work though, I really hope they iron out these problems soon.
Thank you for this valuable feedback! We will be expanding the drum sounds in. the module a lot as we go, so I will make sure your wants are heard by our founders (Beech toms and Ping Ride). BTW, you can run your EFD5 module In/Out of the PRO module and still use those sounds. As well, the combo of EQ/Comp used on these drums can really be shaped for both live and recording. I've copied your comment for development meetings. Michael
Thanks for your feedback, i'm hesitating between the pear mimic and this pro module, is still easy to play metal drums sound ? is it possible to find some more informations/videos regarding the sound ? we found nothing and i don't understand this kind of marketing... We are selling something than we can't show u... For that price, that's hard choice... I would love to make a video with all sound and possibility you can do... But they dont answer me ahah
Hi thanks for the question. I do not believe Efnote is available in Japan right now. To be sure you might want to reach out to Efnote HQ which is based in Hamamatsu. Hope this helps!
That particular kit I was playing on was a preset made more so for high dynamic genres like metal and EDM, we're working on a separate video showcasing many more of the presets in the module that are drastically different from the couple shown here. :)
Sounds are not there its sounds cheap , come on Efnote can’t you do better then this ?????Hihat and cymbals very nice Sounds. Snare and toms very weak! Just like all the ATV sets. Just way too expensive! This set !And why is Efnote using 2 cable snakes??? I hate that about my Efnote 3 module. Its taking way too long to connect my pads. I’am thinking to buy a Roland set again. 2box did sound 10 years ago better then this but they suck at triggering hihat and cymbals and the modules where not easy to use shame really… Roland still needs to improve their sounds its all fake sounding drums. When they will improve that they will be the best.
I’m really hoping it’s just a preset issue. Or it could be the whole extreme dry sounds that Efnote is going for with this module. I remember I vastly preferred al the other Efnote modules tom sounds compared to this one (the more accurate sustain and ring)
Sounds absolutely awful! £6700 for that?!!! Do you realise how much amazing 'top end' acoustic kit you could buy for that...of any model?Jeez...just buy a second hand Roland TD-17 KVX, plug in EZDRUMMER 3 and you've got a set up that will blow this rubbish and all of the flagship 'electronic make and models' out of the water for £5,000 less.

FYI, @6:40 you mention needing to repeat hi hat calibration. There's a firmware update, 1.2, that fixes this.

Great video. I have the 3x and am considering getting the Pro Module for it.
Why?
It's so funny that Brad included some Animal As Leaders chops in his demo! Amazing demo guys! I think I might be considering getting this one!
I’m absolutely in love!!!! I just upgraded to the alesis strike pro se but maybe someday I’ll have $10,000 to pick up this beauty
laughable price for the tech inside. You can do better... have a real set, and still have money left over.
You're an idiot 😂

@@ArtesiaProNorthAmericaThis is his you do it. Thanks Customer support and marketing.

@@einarabelc5 Sorry, I don't understand your comment.

Good explanation, thank you. But please tell me which sample drum kit that was in the intro or which snare sound that was from which drum kit?
We are working on a video that demos all the kit patches now.
Would love to see a video of just the kits in the module.
Working on it!
This kit is on the top tier of edrums!
11:28 animals as leaders 💚
First Roland then ATV and now Ef-Note(?) I imagine some cross-pollination between the 3? Japan ='s edrum technology?
The engineers at Efnote worked at both Roland and ATV before they started Efnote.
Great vid, fellas!
Do it we offer trades on your old module.
I have the 5 module. Which module would I be able to trade it in for?
素晴らしい!!!こういうのを待ってました。日本でも買える?

12:48 sounds like machine gunning with the Toms all attack and no body, what happened?

Toms sound fake
Thanks for the feedback!
@@tommodeski8637 that's the problem with Efnote. They have tot manage that problem with tomsounds.
Sounds like F note 7....not more, and very expensiv
Wow those toms sound terrible. Actually the snare does to. I thought this was a high end kit.
Tastes vary of course but yours seem to be far from the norm of the vast majority of our customers. Thanks for stopping by!

The Tom sounds are ridiculously bad. What is going on there?
I thought the same.
My 2box toms sounds really better than this.
Agree mate!
It's gotta be a config issues, it's all attack and no body or decay. Sounds like machine gunning
I’m really hoping it’s just a preset issue. Or it could be the whole extreme dry sounds that Efnote is going for with this module.

eKit is nice, but sorry i don't like these sounds too much electronic that remember me the first roland TD 8

Sounds are very subjective and you are allowed to have your own personal tastes. Thanks for stopping by!
Toms sound like toys still. High hats are slightly better. E drums are only good for home practice if the neighbor hates you.
We always say make friends with your neighbors but if you can't buy an electronic kit. :)
The background drumming ruins this video.
Thanks for the feedback!
I love it too.
Not too loud.
