Pineapple sage too, grows like crazy. Here in the Bay Area I cut it back to the ground in winter and it’s 7 feet tall right now in August. It’s covered in red flowers. Hummingbirds and bees love it. It smells amazing.

I love to see strawflowers getting attention. So drought resistant and beautiful. They re-seed readily where I am so they just come back in new and exciting colors (from cross pollination) each year.

Scabiosa brings all the pollinators to my garden! I didn't know we can grow sunflowers ALL year here in SD...going to succession plant now. Sunflowers are the stars in my garden right now. A giant 14 ft surrounded by 6 ft beauties. My flower beds are in their 5th year and the layers of color make every day better. Nonstop Monarchs and I am obsessed with taking pictures of bees bathing in pollen. All my seeds are from you and I am so grateful for your tips...thanks!!!

Thank you so much for this info. I love how you keep referring to succession planting. I definitely struggle with the transition from the summer to the fall, especially seed-wise, so I really appreciate your input.

Finding space for flowers in our vegetable garden has worked out great during the hot summer months!

I'm a new gardener to Florida zone 9b. I'm incorporating native flowers in amongst my vegetable garden. The garden looks healthier & much prettier. I was glad to see I already had a few of these plants, but even happier to see some I've never heard of. I've turned the small patch of front yard into a native garden. Planted in spring from starts & they are really filling in. I really enjoyed this video. Going to look up some of those plants & going to watch some of your videos. Thanks

None of the zinnias, straw flowers, amaranth, or Sunflowers, Don't have any idea why, not even ONE, they were planted among my veggies, and by themselves in a different area.

Hi Brijette, here in Central Florida it is Hot and wet all the way to November with rain 2 to 3 times a week at least, our dry season is the winter time from December to about April, I wish I can send some rain to you guys over in California, as I type it just started to thunder and should rain today which helps so I don't have to water the garden, always love watching your videos and always learn something new!

    😢😢 what about zone 8
July and August are our hottest months. September is goes from 100 to 80 lol. It’s not “cool” until nighttime in October and daytime at the END of October and then we still have “hot days” in November too. Our cold months are Jan-February

This time of year, pretty much all of the zones are the same. Same places get wetter/drier or a little hotter or colder, but you can still grow these, especially in 8. Seedlings need extra protection & moisture for sure!
