I love the GP camo - makes you blend in with the piggies in the garden! hehe Thank you for sharing the book with us. Chapters 5 and 6 seem great, showing each seed/sprout's impact and nutritional value on the body and also how to grow at home. As someone who has to painstakingly parse through every food choice and ingredient for medical sake, this is very helpful (and fun too!). Love that Mike serves as a food critic. He is very fair and honest. And LOVE Billy and Pippy together. Fun and food and companionship only in the GP Garden! :-)
I started a raised bed garden to grow foods for my GPs...I use their uneaten/soiled hay and their poops in my compost (which is used to grow their veggies...wonderful circle.
Thanks for taking guinea pig raising to the next level. Always looking for ways to enhance their lives and challenge them through learning and also my self. Keep the video content going and exploring new avenues.
Hi Scotty, your garden looks really good, with all the green leafs. So there is always a treat for the piggies. They will love it the way to their heart goes through the stomach 😂 . Hope the temperatures are going down soon We miss you and your laughing at the videos from the rescue. But nice to see you and your piggies . Do you have any fosters at the moment? Stay safe and healthy. 😘
I hope your garden is doing well. I have a tip to share, you may already know this one. If you take the bottom portion that is cut off your lettuce or celery you can regrow it in water. Just leave about 1 1/2 inches from the end, place bottom into any container with about 1/2 inch of water and place with sun exposure but not direct. Within a few days it starts sprouting new growth from the center, just change out the water every couple of days. I currently have 3 lettuce and 1 celery plants growing for our piggies. Looking forward to more garden updates and tips. I am also trying my hand at growing some wheatgrass.
Hey Scotty. Love this video, very useful, which I will share. Made me smile when you mentioned the 'feeding to pets, dogs and cats' etc. I had a dog who would eat everything I offered him. This also included medication which he took willingly, the only thing I came across that he wouldn't eat was celery. He was a resue dog I adopted and he had had a tough life for his first five years. Now I'm interested in sprouts, to see what my very picky guinea pigs who don't even like fruit or Romaine lettuce think off sprouts, all they really go mad for is grass which I have to go and pick then wash........🤔 not enough grass in my garden......
Scotty, we miss you in LAGPR chat on Saturdays! Even if you can't be there you need to stick your head in and say "hi" I really enjoyed this video, I just can't grow a man thing.
Living in an apartment is a bit limitingbto what i can do, but this has inspired me to try and grow atleast cilantro and parsely in a window for my piggies!
I have learned so much from your channel and would love to try my hand at growing sprouts someday! My 8 yr old piggie had to go to the vet today to get x-rays and she has to go back Monday for exploratory surgery as they found a mass the size of a quarter.
@@ScottysAnimals Just an update Kodak made it through her surgery! Dr. Anderson at Westside Veterinary Clinic did an incredible job and removed a tumor in her uterus! She is healing up and I can't wait to see her back to her regular self.
Hi Scotty! Where have you purchased most of your seeds from? Websites or in store, & which ones? I know it can get quite expensive to buy these seeds for microgreens but just wanted to know where I get yours from thanks!
Country Creek acres for the broccoli and buckwheat and sunflower but any sprouting seeds should work and also the lentils are from the dollar store you can sprout pretty much anything experiment
My husband was growing some sprouts we planted some stuff for the piggies they turned there nose up at it I keep trying but they don't like change only like there certain veggies. Spoiled brats I have
First and I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL I have a guinea pig and I learn ALOT from you and I have a question why is my guinea pig biting her cage bars she always bites the cage and I would love to know why she does that and I LUV YOUR PIGGES SOOOO MUCH hope you have a great day
I recently got a guinea pig and I’ve done research beforehand. I know they need to be with another guinea, I was just wondering how long they can go alone before buying another one because my pet stores and humane society doesn’t have any guineas right now. And when I do get another one is there a certain way to introduce them.
Hi Trudy, all the ones that I have mentioned here are safe. You might Google a specific one but generally the sprouts of many veggies that we only recommend in moderation or not like broccoli are completely safe for them. But when in doubt Google it and also with such a variety of safe sprouts there's no reason to take chances. The easiest thing to grow might be wheatgrass but my favorites are broccoli radish buckwheat and sunflower sprouts. I really recommend that book
Hello 👋🏻 I need advice :) I left a comment on Saskias video about how I rescued 2 piggies. (one has a broken foot and they are both very tiny) I already have one guinea pig that’s why I got others to give them partners. The 2 babies are already bonded but my other pig is crazy aggressive with them, teeth chattering, hair fluffing. I don’t know what to do!! Alsooo they are all males.
Scotty, I just gave my piggies their bath and now they are fighting because they don’t recognize each other and I’m scared to let them interact again after I put the divider in the cage. What should I do?
Try them on the floor with treats and hay and also put a big pile of treats and Hey in their cage they did not forget who they are and are they biting each other? Make sure to wrap your hand if you are afraid they will fight
Scotty's Animals They aren’t biting each other just a lot of teeth chattering and lunging. Shall I wait or do it now? The bath was given maybe and hour ago and I had them separated ever since
Did you notice that my shirt is Guinea pig camouflage? It's available on my Etsy shop and the link is in the description

Your piggy garden really does look tasty, and it adds a fresh look, too. I'll definately try this. I'm going to check out the link 🤗♥️🐹
I love the fish dish at bout 16:50. my hamsters favourite micro greens are flax(linseed) pea and quinoa. None of them seem interested in the corn!
Awww your piggies look do cute eating sprouts especially Gari lol yes I have a favorite ❤️ I need to get get them seeds to grow again .
Living in an apartment is a bit limitingbto what i can do, but this has inspired me to try and grow atleast cilantro and parsely in a window for my piggies!
I think that as long as you feed sprouts from a veggie that would normally be on their diet you'll be ok, still in moderation. If that makes sense.
Thanks, Scotty. What a wonderful window garden. These look nutrient rich and pretty, too.
Yes, its just the beginning too!
Ooh this book looks fantastic for piggie gardens!
It is, and clicking the link helps the piggies and me even if you don't buy it
@@ScottysAnimals ok! I'll be sure do do that!
I wish I had as much energy as you ❤️ I spend so much money on piggy veg and I bet it doesn’t taste as nice as what you grow
You could have a garden like this in one week's time and it only takes 10 minutes A-day or less
Woo hoo! So much more for me to look into with this book. Thank you, Scotty 🥗💕
your piggies will become 10 years and older. but doesnt matter.... you will reach 120, if you continue going this path. 😉
Looks delicious for piggies and humans, I like sprouts in a sandwich, they give an extra kick.
Your channel is so awesome!
Love this, gonna have to try it.
Sprouts
Great info, thank you! What kind of soil do you use and do you have to use new soil every time you replant?
Hey Scotty are the edible logz from Walmart good like the snak shaks you get from the regular pet store?

Do you know how to keep mold from growing in the wheat grass sprouts? I use the green and white trays that you showed in the last video.

You need to keep your fingers away from their mouth. ua-cam.com/video/ai_cWRTx2ZY/v-deo.html
Dogs don't eat sprouts unless they need to throw up 😆 we all know what it means when they eat grass, you know it's coming.....🤢
