Could this also cause the engine to run a little warmer than usual considering the belt isn't being held at the proper tension thereby causing the other belt driven component such as the water pump to not be turned properly like it would if the tensioner wasn't bad....especially when running the air conditioner?
I change mine out but belt was very hard to install noise come on when morning start here and there then goes away people say to get oem belt does it really make a difference?
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic I change out the tensioner pulley too was very hard to put the belt in I have to have a helper push the tensioner n force the belt in not sure why maybe belt is lil shorter but I’m gonna swap the belt n see
I have the same type of problem in the title when I hit the gas I hear a little squealing noise everytime I accelerate I assume it is the belt somewhat would a bad tensioner pulley cause that problem
Thanks for showing how this can be done from the top of the car without removing the tire! Made the job go much faster!
Glad to help
THis is so helpful, thanks for putting it together for everyone.
Glad I could help!
I didn't want to take off the tire so thank you for the video.
You’re welcome

It’s possible but not likely unless it’s really badly worn out

Sometimes that noise can come from a pulley as well

Hi.
Would it be possible to share the torque spec for tensioner bolts?
To be honest with you, I don’t remember the torque specs for this particular vehicle, but depending on the car year and model, these can vary
I have the same type of problem in the title when I hit the gas I hear a little squealing noise everytime I accelerate I assume it is the belt somewhat would a bad tensioner pulley cause that problem
Yes they would
What year is this honda?
2014 Honda odyssey
2011-2017
What did you torque the the tensioner pulley to
This year was 33 ftlbs
Mine does it when idling on my 07 odyssey
Possibly time for a replacement!
Mine dose it when you slow down
Might be time for a replacement
