Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield hosts an excellent seminar at Weill Cornell's ChiariCARE at the September 2017 CSF Chapter meeting in New York City. The seminar describes the science by how Chiari malformation might affect cognition among patients. Dr. Kenneth Perrine discussed the brain's neuroanatomy, Dr. Jessica Spat-Lemus described the clinical testing that goes into cognitive assessment and Dr. Amanda Sacks-Zimmerman explained how, once deficiencies are identified, they can be treated.

My cerebellar tonsils basically hug my medulla equally on both sides when looking at my MRI from an axial view. It's VERY crowded there. The tonsils extend around the brain stem as much as they physically can. My herniation is 11mm as well. I feel like the compression on the vagus nerve, in my case, contributes to most of my symptoms! I also suffer from mental health issues in addition to all of this, so this really intrigues me. I'm in WA...wish I could fly there and be a part of any future studies!
I would like to see some talks about idiopathic intracranial hypertension in depth from the leading experts in the field, like this.
Many changes seemed to have happen in a year because I did not have any of this with this NS, my post op was terrible.
Oh wow how disgusting the first speaker to treat pain management…. When he clearly knows it’s debilitating and even states he knows it’s important… how ignorant people suffer from this and other invisible illnesses for literally decades and are supposed to trust someone with that attitude towards pain to determine the quality of their life
