Happy belated B-Day. August was my Birthday month too and I got some goodies. Old Grand Dad 114 for $18; ECBP B524 for $75; Springbank 16 year; Bardstown Amrut Collab. The Springbank 16 year was my B-Day Gift. I missed on WT Triumph for $310 from total wine. Passed on Henry McKenna 10 year BiB.
Well happy belated birthday David ! ! Your wife is obviously a very special type of person... even though she can see your collection and know how many bottles are there on your bar, but still make the effort to surprise you with such a great gift just to see the joy it brings. This is wonderful. Reward that lady, I feel there aren't many like her! Sorry to say I have been laying off purchasing more bottles for a while. I have over 50 just sitting on my bar that are all definitely delicious but I usually don't have more than three pours a week and will need to drain a few bottles before I have room for more. But watching whiskey tubers like yourself give me just enough of a fix to keep from going through withdrawals until I feel it's time to get back at it. Keep them coming my friend ! D. (Retired in Riverside)
Hey Dana! Always a good policy to buy after you finish some bottles. Don't be like this guy and just buy 🤣. My wife is special and is somebody I will cherish and love forever. Your wife is also special as she supports all you do as well 😆. We are lucky. Not sure the next time you're down here, but when you are, let me know! Have a cool Monday and cheers ~
Wow what a haul, and that last bottle was really special. I was so close to getting a Stagg at Vons, but as soon as I got in the cart online it was sold out. I went back in to add again they completely removed it from the site. Then I tried switching locations up to 50 miles, but sadly all gone. Happy birthday sir and cheers 🥃 wishing you many more.
Thank you~ 🥳. Vons website is a mess at times and I got most of my orders canceled so I hope you have better luck than me 😆. Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
I think the key is to "not travel" to pick up your bourbon. Time is money! Best to stop and shop while you are on the road running your errands. If your already there, why not stick your head in. Buy what you want, buy what you need, skip the rest. Good content!!!
I'm so jealous of the cheap Stagg that you get on the west coast! 24A typically goes for $199 - $299 here in north New Jersey. I felt fortunate when I stumbled upon 1 bottle at $179. Happy belated birthday David!
Hey Thomas! I do a lot of hunting to find these staggs 🤣. The time and money I spend to get these probably make it worse than secondary 🤪. Have a fantastic week and cheers ~
I know! Now what do I get her for her birthday?? I'm in trouble already 🤣. Stagg is probably the best buy I had this month when you consider the price. What was your haul like in August? Thanks again for all your support and cheers ~
Happy belated birthday! This is another excellent video. Kudos to your wife… a very touching gesture. My haul: EHT SiB, 1792 SiB, and Eagle Rare. Passed on: RR15, couldn’t pull the trigger with that $$. I'm still new to the whiskey game and slowly building my inventory. BTW: Two weeks ago, I was behind a dude who bought a Weller Millennium for $8K. Yikes.
Hey Bryan! Thank you for the birthday wishes 🙏. That's a great haul and I understand the RR15 as the price is a bit high and with all you got, it's probably not worth getting 😆. Let me know which one was your favorite once you have a pour from each! Thank you so much for your view and comment! Greatly appreciate it and cheers~
Happy belated birthday! Missing out on that JD SBBP Rye for $40, yikes! That's definitely a major major deal! One of my buddies was able to get the Bomberger's and Shenk's, he hasn't opened them yet. He was at my place last night to try some Old Forester stuff and the Stagg 22A I was able to get a while ago. The 22A was pretty hot upfront with a lot of cinnamon on the finish. A little bit of water helped immensely, turned into a sweet cherry pie that has a buttery flaky crust! If it tastes that good on first opening I can only imagine what some airing out time will do for it! I filled a boston round of it for him to take home for his infinity bottle! That HH 18 was certainly very awesome of your wife! I guess it doesn't matter if she paid MSRP or the $500, she bought it for you!
Thanks a ton for the birthday wishes 🎉! Stagg 22A is a good one and probably most people's favorite batch since 16 and it'll even be better the next time you have it 😆. Wife really did something special, now the pressure is on me next year 🤣. Have a wonderful Sunday and cheers~
Great video, I paid about double for my 24A ($150 OTD) but only $136 OTD for Bomberger’s. I have passed on the HH grain to glass bottles, too $$$$ in my opinion for what get and most of the time priced way above SRP. Cheers 🥃 David
Great price on the Bombergers and also probably a good pass on the HH G2G. I'm just a FOMO guy and I also need to do reviews or compare it to others so I use that as an excuse 🤣. Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
Happy Birthday! Another great video. HH18 is an outstanding pour---was able to try it at the Ballard Cut in Seattle in June. Buffalo trace seemed to drop late in August and I found an EH Taylor Single Barrel and a W107 but missed the Stagg24A. Cheers!
Happy birthday again! Even though you missed a lot of bottles I think you can out on top in the end. What a gift from the wife. You better treat her well for her birthday, lol
Nice haul! I got 2 bottles of Makers Mark The Heart, a bottle of Weller 12, and an EH single barrel for my Dad. I got myself a Mitchers 10 year Bourbon finally, Buffalo Trace TW store pick, JD Barrel Proof SB Rye, and 2-Weller 107's.
Yo~~ so jealous of that michters 10 year bourbon as I've been looking for that for the last 4 years with no luck 😅. Once you have a pour, let me know how you like it! Have a fantastic week and cheers ~
Happy Belated Birthday David and what a gift! When I was training by the Long Beach area I stopped by the Corked Stearns and got the Russell's Reserve 9 yr pick. I only go there if I'm in the area and hate the traffic. I got lucky to buy Bourbon Hunter's Cedar Ridge barrel pick. For some reason just haven't been into buying much unless I really want it. Great content as usual and Cheers! 🤙
Hey Jesus! How did you like the Cider Ridge pick? I only been there once and hope to go there more often but so far 😪. Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
Very enjoyable video. In August I Picked up case of Stagg 24A for $56 each at Walmart, Knob Creek Bourye for $37 at Sam’s club. Shenks at $110 at Total Wine. Missed Bombergers. Very thoughtful wife. I am just happy that my wife doesn’t complain too much about my whiskey buying.

Hello Mr. Kim! Honestly, it is a pretty set but the whiskey inside isn't getting the best reviews so I'm sure you'll be able to find it again soon 😆. Have a cool Monday and cheers~
Luckily I live in Long Beach and saw that Corked on Stearns Bomberger's for $150. Raced over there, probably around 15 minutes away and grabbed the last one. BTW, they still have that 4R store pick and you can order it online either for pickup or shipping. Just saying if you're ever in the area.
I was not aware they have it online! Maybe it's time for me to take a trip to long Beach on a weekend morning 😆. Nice pick up on the bombergers! Anything else exciting you got in August? Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
@@WhiskeyBank Finds: Stagg 24A, 23A, and 18. 1792 Sweet Wheat, John J Bowman pick from Cypress Craft, EHT Single Barrel. Hi David, happy belated birthday! I live just north of you in the Bay Area, so I totally know what you mean about how frustrating it is when K&L does those midnight drops. The Makers Mark Cellar Aged '24 release was one I was really hoping to land this year. I'm not sure who else in CA carries it.
Yeah, it seems Bros Liquor is the only other one I have seen. Oh well. Maybe next year 😆. Thank you so much for your view and comment! Greatly appreciate it and cheers~
Just picked up the pair Shenks/Bombergers 2024 (SRP) hours ago. I went to FL for vacation and saw some 137 proof JDSBS Rye, so had to grab 2 since that's the highest proof I'm gonna see closest to Hazmat. Couple of bottles of Crittenden (out of Mississippi), do you have any of their bottle?
Those are some fantastic pickups, especially those high proof JD Barrel Proof ryes~ I do not have any Crittenden as they are available here in Southern California but I'll keep an eye out for them as I heard good things 😆. Have a wonderful Sunday and cheers ~
Hey James! Never say never as I didn't find much until 2024 so I'm sure you'll find one or even two very soon! 😆. Happy (late) birthday to you as well and have a wonderful Sunday! Cheers~
It's true. Happy Wife = Happy Life. I too got a lead on Weller Millennium as well but for $6800. I don't have that money and it won't be that good so I passed.
Hey Dean! So true! And that's a good pass, not worth a couple of rent or mortgage payments 😆. Thank you so much for your view and comment! Greatly appreciate it and cheers~
What is up with all the prices jumping 20 pluss dollars?! Eagle rare went from 37.99 to 49.99 at my local safeway blantons is 86 So sad to see these prices
I know 😢. Prices seem to be interesting on the Buffalo trace stuff... which is unfortunate. Hopefully it goes back down soon. Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
@WhiskeyBank yes 2-4 bucks higher is fine but 20$ pluss is crazy safeway acting like a liquor store now... 43$ for eh taylor 3 months ago and now is 64$ like 👎 no no
Hey Robert! There are a ton of people who drink here that doesn't drink bourbons (wine, vodka, tequila, beer, etc.) So we get a ton of bourbon and allocated bottles as well. Remember, distribution controls where things go, not the distillery and they sell a lot stuff than just whiskey. Hope this helps! Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
Hey Brian! I hope not! 😆. But either way, I'll treasure the fact she made the effort to find it and get it for me 🥰. Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
Hey Ronald! Not sure if that's true, Buffalo trace has the infrastructure and the distribution relationships to mass produce to be able to sell at lower prices to make money. Not too many distilleries have that. But hopefully the ones that do, will lower the prices 🤞. Have a wonderful week and cheers ~

Thank you so much for your view and comment! Greatly appreciate it and cheers~
@@WhiskeyBank Thanks for the tip on Bros Liquor! I'll give that one a try. Cheers! 🤩🥃
August is my birthday month also. I probably never will see a Stagg here in Texas, especially under 100. 😢
Hey James! Never say never as I didn't find much until 2024 so I'm sure you'll find one or even two very soon! 😆.
Happy (late) birthday to you as well and have a wonderful Sunday! Cheers~
Remus Repeal reserve 7 at Huntington beach Costco right now for 78.99! Can’t beat it!!
Hey William! That's a great price for that Remus Repeal 7! Did you pick one up? If so, how do you like it?
Have a fantastic Sunday and cheers ~
Bro, 220 for Masters Keep?? I had to paid $309 + tax at my total wine for that here in TX
Hey Lawrence! I do regret passing up on it. Oh well, next time 😢.
Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
You have an awesome wife bro.
Hey Glen! I'm absolutely lucky to have her as my wife 😎.
Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
What is up with all the prices jumping 20 pluss dollars?! Eagle rare went from 37.99 to 49.99 at my local safeway blantons is 86
So sad to see these prices
43$ for eh taylor 3 months ago and now is 64$ like 👎 no no
How in the hell does California of all places have such great deals and low prices on bourbon? Never seen a Triumph below 300 in Michigan!
👌🏼
🥰
bet at least $800
Hey Brian! I hope not! 😆. But either way, I'll treasure the fact she made the effort to find it and get it for me 🥰.
Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
Remus at Costco for $80
Good price for that bottle! Did you pick it up? If so, did you like it?
Have a fantastic week and cheers ~
She have any sisters? 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I pass on anything over 60 bucks, if buffalo trace can do it every body can
Hey Ronald! Not sure if that's true, Buffalo trace has the infrastructure and the distribution relationships to mass produce to be able to sell at lower prices to make money. Not too many distilleries have that. But hopefully the ones that do, will lower the prices 🤞.
Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
