    You have packed a lot of content into a short video but everything is explained very clearly. Definitely an upvote!
    I have played several toons up to lvl 60 in New World. I have just started ESO and have a toon up to lvl 12. I have seen enough of both to say that your comparisons are spot on.
    For me, as a PVE player, crafting in NW is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. ESO seems to have much more depth in terms of exploring, quests and lore.

    In ESO you need to to do a light attack weave to get high enough DPS pretty sure that's the reason why most new players get's turned off about the combat, they can't sustain a high enough DPS. Light attack weave is basically crucial specially in end game content

    You did not mention the most important aspect of gameplay... New world is not "targeting game" so you actually have to hit your abilities and aim with range weapons. Where in eso you just have to look in the direction of the mob/player.

    the only issue i really have with ESO is the promises of bug fixes and lag fixes that still haven't happened and lack of communication with players. New World, at least when it first released, had great communication, but the bugs killed it for me. might pick it back up again if ESO doesn't at least show they're serious about the bugs this year.

      This right here. Played eso since beta, 5 yrs later. I finally leave. The lightning patch screwed it up for a lot of people. As a Former ESO player with 2k Hours:
    At the beginning, I used to Roam and explore a lot and do tons of quests and it was fun.
    Once you get to the end game there is no more challenge in doing that..
    Once you know how to DPS, Nothing in doing quests out in the open areas is challenging..
    if you love the Lore - by all means explore as much as you want. If you are looking for some challenge there is no
    point in exploring ( At least for me ).
    The real Fun ( Again, for me) is all the Dungeons and trials this game has to offer.
    They are extremely mentally challenging and require a lot of precision and communication with your team

    I feel like one game is just on the threshold of rising and the other were watching its fall. Hybridization ruined any semblance of unique feeling to mag/stam differences. I trust NW developers more than ESO. Main issue I have with NW is i have no attachment to the weapons. It doesnt feel like a big enough difference. I prefer classes that make characters different. Weapons give zero reason for replayability.

    • @passman36
      @passman36  Рік тому +1

      I think the ability to wield different weapons is what gives you the replayability to see how things work with one another. And i think that will increase the longer the game goes on and more weapons come out. Im indifferent between weapons and classes. my only thing is that i would love to see the weapon trees continue to expand. or maybe even add in some additional combos or something like that to give it more robust options. Because as of right now i don't think the abilities or perks weapons offer is enough.

      ESO is the only MMO I jump into from time to time, because I like the solo content that it provides. I'm a very casual player because I have many other things going on as well so I often play it in very short bursts. You can play for free (aside from paying for the base game but when it's on sale, it's not an awful lot of money and there is a ton of content included) but I do think that a subscription in ESO is worth the investment and it's very easy to activate/cancel it from your account. I could feel like playing ESO for a bit - I activate a montly sub - and when I feel like I want to switch to another game and will probably leave ESO alone for a while, I cancel my sub again and the monthly payments stop.

    As NW PvP veteran I can tell you few things:
    PvP is not that hard, its easy to master if you have hands but a lot of people just dont have it and they are bad even in the game where you have only 6 skills. Combat system is nice but balancing is awful. OPRs are bad - last time there is bow and musket spam and its OP af. For about 1 year the only good content worth logging in for me was siege and we had at least few of them per week.
    I played this game from release, I didnt log in since few last days and to be honest if u are looking for nice MMORPG then I dont recommend this game, doesnt matter if PvE or PvP player, its not about burnout or being toxic its just advice to save your time, ESO, GW2, WoW, FFXIV is just better

    You did a really great job of summing it up. New World has better environmental effects, better combat, better open world gathering. ESO has better questing and lore. Superficially, New World looks and feels better, but below the surface, ESO seems like a fundamentally more meaningful experience. Crafting progression in NW feels great, but you're bound to be disappointed when you reach "Mastercrafter" status. It is basically gambling. You can spend anywhere from 50-100k on crafting resources and get next to nothing. No one wants to buy mediocre purple gear so the only way to make a profit is to get lucky and roll legendary gear, but getting legendary means nothing unless you roll the perfect perks. My last roll was for 5 rapiers, of which I spent 40k crafting. I received ZERO legendaries. Basically a weeks worth of income just flushed down the drain. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING. Don't play NW for the crafting system.

I personally like ESO the content is vast and so many zones/gear/things to do I find myself always going back to ESO in the end... but man they need to put crafting bag on store for 3k crowns. I only sub for the crafting bag. I try to make it with 1 bag but I always give up and sub. ESO has flavor it has so much content you don't even need the sub when you start playing because you will be kept busy for awhile with non DLC content. If you don't plan to craft or gather then yeah sure you don't need that bag. And in ESO you won't even behind anyone because I see hundreds of other players today still doing the base game launch content, because 1 it's still good, 2 it still gives good rewards.
    What I will say about new world is it looks pretty but game felt bland and after playing it once I have never felt need to return. I still feel no need to return and I gave up last year reading content updates because new world never reached the game I wanted. I played ESO since 2014 Beta. I am on a hiatus from ESO over the last 2 months. I have been playing New World for about a month now and I enjoy it. I remember the issues ESO had in the first couple of years. I also remember the issues ESO created after fixing some things and then breaking others as a result. ESO's strength is the variety of classes, races, weapon types. ESO's weakness is the variety of classes, races, weapon types and how you are pigeon holed by them. New World does not require you to pick race for perks. You get those based on how you play. Leveling in New Word IMO is easier.
    The environment and materials farming in New World is superior to ESO. You chop a tree down not pick up a log on the ground. The fishing is better in New World. As a new player to New World I have not PvP'd yet. But PvP'd in ESO since April 2014. I have two ESO accounts and so I know about ESO PvP. It needs improvement. And like someone said, in ESO gear does most of the work, some will disagree and I know of people who are really good no matter what they wear in PvP. If it's more skill in New World than gear I will be happy.
    In ESO Cyrodiil PvP needs to be redone. Actually, ESO as a game needs to be rebuilt from scratch with a more up to date API like Vulkin. ESO needs to include the ability to go under water and and New World needs to allow you to swim. Why would NW allow players to go underwater but not swim makes no sense. I can go on and on. ESO is good but long in the tooth and way over due for a game rebuild. Not patching but fresh new coding and game engine, as it's almost 10 years old. Technology exists now that would make ESO WAY better now. New World is a young game with a major tech support. It should age well if the devs stay on top of things and the game listens to players. I have heard of people leaving and coming to New World. A lot of those coming into New World are from ESO like myself that seems to give the game a little refresher of player base.

      Strong projection. New World is so unpolished. ESO doesn't need to be rebuilt from scratch what lunacy is this lol? It has by far one of the best ever lores in an MMO and open world. Insane single player value too even without the 8+ years of DLC which will give you way more time. It's incredibly easy to level what are you on about? All the daily bonus XP, events, farming mobs, you can be level 50 in a day. They also put a softcap on unslottable passives so as a new player you're maybe a few weeks behind in CP farming only - CP farming is a joke too, can easily get 50 a day. Gearing is also way smoother with sticky book system, and that most builds don't even need trial gear so you can just farm normal dungeons and be geared out in a week. Sounds like you're burned out.

    I played both for a while. ESO overland is extremely easy. The quests, voice-acting and othe aesthetics are great ....but there is no challenge whatsoever. I could run around naked and do every quest. The engine is getting old and could use some polishing. PVP is constant grinding for new unbalanced sets and item because devs balancing chaos. Very unrewarding to grind for something and then watch it be rendered useless.
    New World needs optimization and more content (which I'm sure they will add as time goes by ....if given a chance). I love PVP ...but my machine can't handle even Outpost rush without frame skipping, lag, etc. Make sure youi have a decent CPU if you want to get the most out of New World. This is the most CPU demanding MMO I've run into.
    Given a choice, I'd go back to New World provided they improve performance. ESO sub model and the way they lock expanded inventory (super important for crafting) into a monthly sub is crap. I'd rather they let me grind or outright purchase expanded inventory one time.

    New World crafting is not as intriguing as implied. If you love to gamble, as in risk financial ruin for the small chance of winning big, then you’ll love New World’ crafting.
    And what are you gambling with? Your free time. New World does not let you craft the exact item you want. It always relies on chance. You can spend hundreds of hours maxing all your craft skills and hundreds of hours acquiring the crafting materials… but then the game computes a “chance” to craft the item you want.
    Imagine spending hundreds of hours in a game, then being unable to craft the item because the game gave you a garbage item instead.
    I’m all for grinding out in PvE and farming for specific items. But I do that knowing that eventually I’m going to get that item, with with hundreds of hours invested.
    There’s no grinding out once you’re at max craft level. It’s always going to be a random chance to craft the item you want.
    My free time is more valuable than that. That’s why I stopped playing New World.

    • @passman36
      @passman36  Рік тому +1

      I think that's a fair assessment of crafting and I can see where you are coming from.
      But at the same time if you were able to craft whatever items you want with the exact specifications and stats that you want it would diminishe the value of crafting imo. Because everyone would be able to craft that item which would be the best in slot item. And in term would kinda destroy the market because nothing would be of value. Especially once everyone maxes out their crafting.
      To me it's almost no different than running content repeatedly to get a piece of gear and it taking you hours to get it.
      Now I think parameters could be added to get the desired rolls you want on a piece of gear to make the process less rng. But I don't think I would give the player exactly what they want.

    • @chunkycat5296
      @chunkycat5296 Рік тому

      @@passman36 if something as simple as being able to craft the exact item I want is enough to crash the whole market, then that’s not a very good system to build a game on.
      New World, for all its pros, has many glaring issues that are not a good foundation for building a game upon.
      Example; there is a limit on how many “hard mode” dungeons (expeditions) you can do per week. So let’s say my friends and I want to farm that hard mode dungeon. If we start on Tuesday night, by Thursday or Friday, we can no longer run that hard mode dungeon. That’s ridiculous.
      In ESO, with enough grinding for materials, I can craft the exact item I want with the exact traits I want. And if I wanted to run hard mode dungeons all day every day, there’s no game imposed limit on how many times I can run the dungeon in hard mode.
      New World’s declining player population is a testament to the game’s many problems.

      That's why mentioned that it's only going into it's second year and will continue to flesh out content. No game or mmo that I can think of launched content rich

      I agree with the difference in content because of time but when you compare games you can't compare what a game has vs what a game "might" have. It may not seem fair but I think it's very realistic for someone looking between 2 games to play to pick the one with the most content. It's like buying a car with all the features or for the same price, buy a car with no doors and a few windows knowing they will add these in as time goes on. The car with no doors may look cool and have potential, but I'd like my doors now. Games are much the same. If you really want to immerse yourself into a game for the long term, content wins and MMORPG's are long term games.
      Looking at releases over the last decade or so, it seems if you release a game that doesn't have as much content as a current game you're competing with, your game better have some kind of "hook" that it does better than every other game. Without that "hook" no one will play until the content picks up. It's just the reality of the genre. does NW have that "hook"? Does it do something so much better than any other game you can ignore the lack of content? If NW can pump out the content at a rapid pace they can stay afloat and even succeed. If not, the game will falter until there is enough content for people to sink their teeth into long term and hope by then it hasn't become an afterthought.

      yeah, I agree... I'd also recommend people get in now with New World since I believe it has a bright future whereas ESO seems to be on the way out ...
