The GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition is officially here and with it we have some very minor and major changes between the Original GTA Trilogy vs The GTA Trilogy: DE. The first of many changes being the "See You in Miami" billboard in GTA 3. Could this be a hint at the location of GTA 6? I doubt it. But it might mean something else... Over 40+ songs have been REMOVED from the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition and even the addition of NEW Easter Eggs in GTA San Andreas!

Ghost town from gta 3 has been misplaced and I wonder why they didn’t add gator keys to VC
PS4/Xbox One has performance issues. Laggy and loading assets takes too long. Right now, it’s not worth the price.
Only played San Andreas so far and I’m not impressed for £54.99 sadly. Just not very impressive.

They should add the fogg effect back in SA. Without it, the draw distance makes everything look way too cartoony and small.
I agree. If not the fog itself, because it did make the original seem a bit gloomy, and the remasters brighter lighting is a refreshing change in my opinion but I think they should have a thicker cloud density when you go higher up like in an airplane on a skyscraper

Billie jean's removal really hurts because not only it was a song on the radio but it was intended as an introduction to the game as it's always the first song that plays in that mission

That's funny, Pubg New State released today as well. The same damn thing happened, the game had to go under maintenance two hours after the global release! It took them all day long to get the servers back up.... 😂
they should've kept the fog to some degree. it ruins the feel when you can see mount chilliad, which is supposed to be far away from Grove Street
They should've just increased detail draw distance end keep the fog the same as maximum setting PC. Vice City still doesnt render traffic at far enough distance and it was by far biggest flaw in comparison to San Andreas. Also they shouldve added some minor beta content like. Balcony in ocean view. And Vice City Stories style swimming(without diving) to III and Vice City

@@Jetsweepp Exactly. I didnt really need a remake(Tho proper GTAIV Rage engine mild-remake would be nice) Adding minor features doesnt mean a remake at all tho. More lile expansion/update of the game which is along the lines of remastering anyway. Especially when its little things like features from following Renderware engine games so SA and VCS. One of which they directly worked on anyway. Diaz and Vic Vance models from VCS would be better for remaster's assets. In general LCS and VCS should be a great reference how to update things for GTA III, VC and SA

One thing I notice is when you start the mission “sweets girl” in SA, sweet shoots someone in the cutscene and in the original the person dies but in the definitive edition it’s like the bullets don’t even hit the guy
I thought that was a glitch. I failed the mission n he missed the shots all over again😂
Yeah cutscenes have a lot of bugs most of mine just wouldn’t even play so I had to skip them

Not a fan of how the new character models clash with the old rigs. Everyone has broken bones and oddly shaped bodies now. I think Rockstar (or GSG) butchered the original art style and they knew fans wouldn't like it, that's why they delisted the original games. To make sure you buy the "right" edition. If they were confident in the quality of the remasters, they wouldn't have delisted the original trilogy.
This looked like Rockstar has finally done something good for the community, but they just keep screwing us over. They're just more subtle about it now

Don’t get rid of your old systems. Reason 1 million why I don’t sell outdated consoles. I still have the original trilogy that was released on original Xbox. Sure it’s outdated but it’s proper. The new editions alright but the original is nostalgic
Anyone under the age of 30 are blinded by the graphics of the new versions. The games themselves are worse, simply because things have been censored and songs have been omitted. Rockstar have completely shat over their history and I have a feeling they don't even want people playing these new games. Within a month nobody will play them again... It just fits into the woke agenda of these modern times, where by history is being rewritten and anything good that came before are just being ruined to take away what little meaning they had!

The MJ songs were removed as far back as the PS2. MJ's family forced RS to remove them.

The cost of licencing MJ's music likely skyrocketed after 2009. Estates are often extremely greedy. Plus MJ's music was likely at its cheapest in 2002 with the court case and everything. MJ had a resurgence in popularity after his death. Suddenly everyone loved him again. I do recall MJ being heavily ridiculed in many forms of media in the early 2000s. For example Eminem, Family Guy, Scary Movie, Date Movie, MadTV etc.
@@fartslinga3539 Only in the original PS2 release. Later PS2 releases did remove the MJ songs. The PS2 classics on PS4 which are straight PS2 ports don't have the MJ songs.

@@anonymous-bb2dw I loved driving way more in San Andreas. In definitive edition, when youre not in the air, the map still feels huge and travelling the whole map still feels like a long road trip.
Is there an option to turn the fog back on, It really gave the impression the map was way bigger, the game without the fog feels small and cheap.
For PC gamers, yes because it helps performance.
In PC, you can probably use ENB or ReShade. Other platforms? Just don't fly I guess.

Fun fact : At 7:50 you said we can see through interiors but......That's a trick used in video games to mimic interiors using textures often called as cubemapping or parallax interior basically it is done through the shaders using textures it saves performance and it gives us an illution of having interiors .If you've ever played spiderman game (I don't remeber the name sorry) And Forza horizon 4 or 5 you can actually find this in the games It really gives that depth to interiors rather than tinting a black glass so it is actually not a moddeled 3d room it is a texture. If you find this interesting you can actually find more about this in youtube

Yeah for sure. The only one that’s actually good is the GTA 3 remaster, and it’s performance is just awful. And don’t get me started on the rain.
i love that they added variation to the NPCs in the remastered SA. for example; originally in grove st. theres a man in an orange track suit and bucket hat-- in the definitive edition you can see people wearing yellow, blue, and sometimes no hat. same for the other NPC models.
they also made new pictures for the interior of the johnson family home (and replaced the image of the female grove st NPC thats usually on the wall)
I noticed that too almost right away. I really like how some have tattoos now too. Kinda reminds me of saints row 2s NPCs.
Small thing I know but it made me happy when i noticed. They didnt have to do it but they added an inside light to the cars when you open a door. I'm always looking for the tinier details.
I understand some criticisms on this game but i honestly coupd care less. This is exactly how I saw these games growing up and it makes me extremely happy by how faithful this remaster is. Keeping the original art style while making the game smoother and smoother to play
@@skrublordnord69 yeah dude! in a game with so much packed in content, its the small things like this that really add and stick out. its also just nice knowing that the people working on the game care about it enough to add those things in for cosmetics sake. i cant complain about the games at all, other than playing on an OG xbox one and the graphics being subpar, its amazing. being able to see downtown LS from grove street is so satisfying.
They have also added new coloured clothes for CJs first Girlfriend as I saw. But in the cutscene for the date the clothes suddenly change their colour to the old model. Thats attention to detail...👏

This is my favorite change in the DE and it's in III and Vice City too. It really helps in III, because the sidewalks were just full of clones walking around in the original lol.

The fog/smog was more for draw distance and loading. I wish they just upgraded it to more realistic and less dense fog , especially since at point LA was very smoggy and had acid rain. I wish they didn't get rid of completely.

When they announced these re-releases, the first thing I thought of was the "Silent Hill HD Collection", and I was afraid.
It seems my fears were totally founded.
Missing effects, removed soundtracks, the new character designs clash with the city design even more. The bigger draw distance and the removal of fog also ruins the atmosphere by making the map look smaller than the original.

I never felt the map was small unless I was flying. Overall, seeing big buildings from Grove Street made it feel bigger actually. Felt like an actual city and not some other dimension

The interiors aren't added these are known as fake window interiors, these are parallax materials calculated based on camera's position and it's feels like there are interiors made inside the building, but these are just textures and panoramic images. p.s. I'm myself a game dev doing it.

I played San Andreas DE the day it came out. Speaking of the small details we appreciate, I noticed at night that car interior lights exist. They also shut off when the doors are closed, and turn back on if the door opens.

3 babies was born during its construction, it means it takes a really long time to build the CG bridge (at least more than a day or a week, but mostly more than a month)
34000 polygons, that's not really a lot for now since UE5 exists...but actually that's massive for PC in 2004, even the 15000 is actually too many

In that Welcom to Vice City part the Vacation to Liberty City uses an image from 15 years into the in-game future, the devs didn't really had the attention to detail.
And that track suit is classic man, would've noticed on first day, also the minigun in VC doesn't rotate, the jetpack nozzles in SA don't move in directions...

@Agent 39 My initial statement was not in regards to these new versions, I personally have a lot of issues as well as far as what was/wasn't done. I was merely joking about how I didn't want to see somebody that wasn't even born when these games came out talk about how bad they are or whatever. These are great games that are going on 20 yrs old. The overall design of the game is obviously dated compared to what we have now. I just don't want to see someone say GTA 5 did "this" or "that" mechanic better than 3 cause like... after two decades yeah I sure would hope so.

Great graphics yea the models aren’t perfect on the occasion like hand models but overall the game is hella good not regretting my money spent and Iv only played one game so far. This “Definitive Edition“ feels like they hired a bunch of russian guys in a basement to add some texture mods and ENB series pulled out from GTAinside and they said that's it, habemus new game.

I have heard that MJ's music is now very expensive to get licensed so I completely understand if Rockstar was asked too much money for one song and they did not buy it. I would not play 10 mil just for one song . Its probably the reason that you can't really hear MJ's music in movies now.
The whole definitive edition has NO TAIL LIGHTS on cars! A feature that was included 20 years ago is missing. I wish I could get a refund on PSN I am so angry!!!!

I've found that they've added that thing from GTA V when you crash and lose some health. And they added the zoom out map function from GTA IV and V. Quite good additions in my opinion.
Despite all the drama others are having with the trilogy, I'm having an absolute blast, I feel like a kid again playing these all chaotic-like, like I did back in the day.

Very disappointed with how this "Definitive Edition" has turned out. Ima wait, so what they fix, and maybe get it later. I was really looking forward to this, but I dont trust dev's much to preorder anymore, especially for $60 for older remastered games. We will see, but I think Rockstar should be ashamed with how this released. Sloppy doesn't begin to explain how these games are.

in the binco store they took out a prop but they left the collision there, same happened to the pole behind the kuruma at the showroom in portland in gta 3 but in the showroom new cars spawn in the showroom like a patriot or a blista also some car generators were added especially in portland(most noticable at the showroom in portland)

They made cartoon versions of the original games, they could have done better!

It really sucks that tommy can't swim.. I understand that a swim mechanic was too much for the old ps2 version but i don't get it why they don't have implomentet it now.. I know its useless for gta vc because you don't really need to swim but i miss this feature.. It really sucks when you fall with your car into the water and die because you can not swim..I was hoping that they would do more with this edition and be a little more creative and add more things to explore. It's not bad but it's not really great either because with mods you can make the game look a lot better..I don't know .. Maybe my expectations were a little too high.. I love the old gta games because i grew up with them but there's nothing I haven't seen before except improved faces, better looking water and stuff like that and the rest you can do with mods too.. Don't get me wrong.. I love these games but i am a little bit disappointed because i expected more even the most of the easter eggs are the same.. There is almost nothing new to explore.. Man i just want GTA 6..i don't give a sht about the expanded and enhanced because its the same like every of the other 50 or so gta v editions except of some minor new feature
I was looking forward to playing 2 players with my gf on San Andreas. Sadge.

@@Jipjert In the original game you could play 2 player in certain locations. One in San Diego, and one in Las Venturas. It was limited but still fun.
