Visited L.A. a few months back for the first time and I swear I felt like I knew where I was going. I kept saying to my wife "This shit looks just like GTAV!!!" The attention to detail is impeccable.
Even though many of us may not have visited Los Angeles but after playing GTA San Andreas and GTA 5 for so long. It feels like we have visited every corner of Los Angeles in real life. This is amazing.
@Hitler Loves Anime well gta is almost creepily realistic to irl LA but that's just the landmarks and well known areas but of course they couldn't match the real size because LA is too big and they couldn't copy street by street so it's not exact but it's pretty damn close
It’s crazy just how underappreciated GTAV’s world is.Especially after seeing what they made to San Andreas in the definitive edition it just gave me a whole new appreciation for size and beauty of Los Santos.

Man we forget how good GTA V really looks , and even compared with the real world not just as a standalone visual presentation. Also I can't believe that this old game looks so amazing still , Rockstar really did a good job recreating LA and even we do a lot criticize them for not giving us that fiking 6 thing ;) and also they kinda fu23ed up the PC ecosystem with the incapacity of solving the hackers issue , we MUST cut them some slack at least for the effort of the good part of the game graphics details above them all . The only thing that I wish V had was a bigger map like 9 times larger because people kinda got bored not with the game itself but for the lack of new . Yes it has from times to times new dlc content but is still in the same old map. The map itself has nothing to offer anymore. We, (the OG playaz ;) ), who played the game from the beginning, know the map better than our own cities we live in. Honestly I only enter the game a few hours per week and I used to stay 6 hours per day in the beginning if not more. We really need the 6 .

Wow. That's one of the better videos I've seen detailing GTA vs real life. I've never been to LA, but between GTA, movies like Terminator 2, and shows like SWAT, there's a LOT of stuff I want to see there. I can't wait until I can visit. Gonna have to spend like a week there.

That was the furthest south in CA that I'd ever been (previous record being the Bay Area), and I was actually really surprised. San Diego was really nice. I still want to visit LA though. Like NYC and Chicago, it's just one of those places you have to visit.

I love all the comparison videos you do. It would be awesome to compare LS on GTA SA with what it was LA back in 1992 and how it looks nowadays on GTA V. You can tell in the movie Colors of the very early 90s, GTA SA LS looks the same as what LA looked back then, but that's a whole lot of work. Anyway from GTA SA to GTA V you can see how Los Santos/Los Angeles evolved. Awesome job as always!!!
@@samtube2421 Man, I've played too many games. I especially like old games (games between 1996-2006) because I spent my childhood with them. I'm being honest, Gta 3's graphics, details, or city modeling are not the best of the 2000s. Maybe the only good thing is that it is open world, of course in a limited way. Great games cannot be expected from 1999-2001. But they are replayed for nostalgia and always give you a special feeling.
Yeah I wish they would have stuck to the names used in SA for continuity. That bothers me so much lol, like it makes sense for buildings and parts of the city/land to be different over a span of years so they could have gotten away with that, but the names should’ve been solidified and written in stone.
I live 20 mins outside of LA and work in the area alot. I know all the places in GTA V is based at and it's very accurate. The only thing I would fix here is that the arena is more based on the Staple Center instead of the coliseum

Well it also had its graphics improved for the two next generation systems it was upgraded for.. I was playing that on PS3 and now there's a PS5 version
The back of the vine wood hills is picture-accurate as well, especially where that weird crop area is which really is there irl! Noticed it while playing flight sim, it’s literally a small scale LA with some modifications, but I was shocked to see that entire vine wood mountain range is accurate!
This is the reason why I don't mind waiting for GTA 6 as long as R* stays with their ideals and keeps the impeccable story elements and visual details. I hope they don't worry about online much and make GTA 6 a single player game at the start again.

amazing, comparison is the best way to see differences. GTA V have sometimes problems with seamless tiles but I hope real world pictures are just a leak of GTA VI :D
They did a good job re creating places and monumental spots but if you live in LA you know the maps are super watered down compared to how it really is set up. And in gta v they basically left out most of south and east LA, they left out most of the valley, they completely left out santa clarita & the antelope valley and skipped right into what appears to be Rosamond (gta v desert town).
GTA V is rebuilt from Southern California, all locations are precisely identical to real life, and much more beautiful than GTA SA, this was Rockstar's main goal at the time, create a large and detailed map, which draws more towards the realism of California, with locations similar to real life. "Much of the development work constituted the open world's creation, and several team members conducted field research around California to capture footage for the design team" (Wikipedia) It doesn't mean that if such a part of a real location isn't in a game, stops being accurately. Rockstar's main goal was to create something completely identical, in a place small compared to LA itself. I don't know why you guys label this as something to a certain extent negative, since that was their intention from the beginning. They did a great job, and delivered a good and more detailed map than GTA SA
For anyone watching this in 2022, just think about how good GTA5 graphics are, even in it's PS3/Xbox360 versions, when compared with GTA SA. Well, there's a 9 year difference between both games's original releases, so it's understandable how there is such a huge difference. But the same time has passed since GTA5 first released, and we still have at least 2 more years untill GTA 6, it better be the best looking game of tha year.
Now I know why it's taking a long time for GTA 6... the details matter to amaze + blow peoples minds ! Cause this video did just that..... what, the, heck. !!!! They're good !
