Thank you for sharing. It looks delicious, reminds me of how my grandma made it❤️. You give it a few years or so & those girls gone be asking you how to make it
My dad taught me was how to prepare neck bones. I'm 35 and make em at least twice a month. After cleaning them I take a Tablespoon of better than bouillon garlic base and stir it into the water. Season, add the onion and after a half hour add black eyed peas. At the 2 hr mark I remove the meat and make a rue (cornstarch/flour) mix to thicken the juice into a gravy (must be careful not to over thicken). I like em hot out the pot over my bed of basmati rice topped with Frank's red and a side of corn bread. Have a good sleep after that 😪. Great video.
Indeed!! I'm not going to be able to tell my oldest. My 6 yr old will eat anything I eat too. But my 16 yr old will influence, unwittingly. 🤪🤣 Crazy kiddos! Bless you, Momma! 🤗
I absolutely love how you gave each step from the cleaning to the serving! That's how i wish others would do their recipe videos. Very authentic! Your girls are adorable!
You and I prepare and cook neck bones the same way. I learned from my mama and she was the best. She scrubbed and cleaned everything even veggies. I am now 75 and would not change a thing. Thanks Jackie 😊😋
Thank you for sharing!! I rcvd pork neckbone from the food pantry. I've never prepared or had this dish before. I feel great about trying it out with my kiddos. 🙌 Thx!!
They are delicious when cooked right. My daughter showed me how she cooked hers and now I love them but I don’t indulge in them often. Thank you for watching and God Bless 🙏
Wow.. I have 6 adult children 4 boys 2 girls.. my baby boy 19 he left for the US NAVY Last year. And 5 grandchildren ❤❤❤ Great video and beautiful girls!
Always Clean & wash neck bones first & par boil your neck bones then pour off water rinse neck bones & start with fresh water & seasonings.. You’ll be surprised what comes off of them.
Boil them until you see all the brown foam come off the neck bones & that could be 30! minutes.. Then rinse them thoroughly.. You’ve just given them a good bath.. This needs to be done with chitterlings to remove the grease after you’ve cleaned them though…
Yes you are right clean them parboil rinse well wash your pot out return them to the clean pot I always put a little meat tenderizer vinger crush red peppers seasoning of your choice and the taste you are looking for they are good especially when they are clean good..
I'm doing your neck bones today, I love your recipes, and I never would have thought to put fat back in , I'm doing it just the way you did..thank you so much. That was funny with the girls...tell them after.
i like how you split the spices up leave the salt for last, good point, i was wondering how i was going to get some flavor in them, you just took care of that :) im making a pot soon THOSE are healthy neck bones mine are skinny but you know bone has lots flavor good flavor lol
Your daughters are so adorable!! You gave me some great ideas about handling and cleaning the neckbones! Looking forward to trying and thank y=ou for posting! Prayerfully my Nana and Grandma (in heaven) will appreciate me giving this a whirl!
Hi Ms Jackie So I was talking to my husband the other day about your channel and where I keep getting all of these amazing recipes and he said to tell you Thank You 🙏🏻 ☺️. So here I am relaying his message to you hoping you read it so my conscience can be clear lol 😂. Seriously though, you are a rare woman today and we just can’t thank you enough for keeping it real and “down home “. We Love You !! 😊❤️🌻☀️🌿👌🇨🇦
Hey Loretta! Now you be sure to tell your husband that I said you’re welcome and so are you! It pleases me to know that my dishes are being appreciated. This is down home Southern Soul Food at its best! God bless!
I don't eat pork but I do eat Beef Neck Bones and I change the recipe according to my taste at the time. Your kid's reaction to it reminded me of a time, back when I used to eat Frog Legs, and I told my kids it was chicken. And just like your girls, they were killing it before they knew what it was. The difference is, like you said you should have done, I waited until they were finished before telling them the truth. They were fat and satisfied until I said it was Frog Legs! My son literally started crying and threw up! He was SO MAD AT ME he didn't even want to talk to me. He never ate another Frog Leg and I didn't cook anymore. Of course, now I don't eat any of that kind of stuff, pork included. Loved your video! 😊❤
😂🤣 Kids say the funniest things. It taste good until you said something about what it was. I enjoyed your video. It brought back a lot of fond memories of my young days eating at my grandparents.
I love their options and introducing them to foods from my childhood. Some things they love. Some they hate but at least they give things a try. Thanks for watching and God bless!
Oh & GUUURRLL! I DID UR PORK NECKBONES AMD OMG💥! IT WAS EVERYTHING! IT ALMOST MADE ME CRY! IT REMINDED ME OF WHAT MY LATE UNCLE JOE WOULD'VE ENJOYED! THANKS FOR THE BEST SUNDAY DINNER EVER! I 🙏🏿 FOR PROTECTION OF JOY & BLESSINGS! AMEN✝️

Hey there! I don’t have a video for turkey necks but I will definitely make one. I love them too. My older children love when I make them but these last two are a whole different breed, lol. When I have a taste for cornbread dressing but don’t want to cook a whole Turkey I usually cook Turkey necks because the broth is so rich and flavorful. Thanks for giving me an idea for Sunday dinner. I should have the video posted sometime next week. God bless!
Oh now it taste different. Lol Now that you know what it is 😂😂😆 I love kids, they give me so much life. Girl you should have waited to tell. Lol. I'ma try this with my 7 and 9 year old
Exactly how to clean neckbones. OMG they have to be cleaned folk's. This is the most savory dish with potatoes you can make. I drive my brother nutz. With all the sauted onions. Is the food ready. This recipe with fried cornbread. Jesus, hold my mule.
Hey Gerome! Neck bones taste like a pork roast or ribs. If you love pork ribs you will love neck bones but they have less meat. If you do cook them and love them the next time you want the same flavor but with more meat, use country style pork ribs. You’ll have more meat but you will have to adjust your cooking time so you won’t dry out the ribs. Thanks for watching and God bless!
Hey Teresa! You are going to be amazed at the difference that fat back makes. You’ll never go back to not using it once you start. Thanks for watching and God bless!

Do you use white vinegar and salt when you clean all your meats or just your neck bones and turkey necks? 🤔🤔
I’ve never washed my meats 🤣🤷🏽♀️
