It is hard to walk away. You always want to be loved and you are constantly trying to receive that love. It hurts to know that you aren't enough. I don't think ppl truly understand unless they have been in the situation.
I lost my daughter when I was 35 weeks along. If ANYBODY ever tells me that it is my fault, I honestly think I would lose my mind on them. The daughter is a much bigger person than I am. My momma was a huge support to me and my family! I feel so bad for this daughter 😥
I am so sorry that you experienced that. I have a good friend who lost full term twins in her womb, and it was beyond devastating. She held her poor twins after birth, and they had a small, private funeral for them. How anyone could focus on themselves instead of the parents when something like that happens is unfathomable to me. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

I lost my son at 37 weeks, and my sister blamed it on me. no one seems to understand why i have a hard time even talking to her.
Her mom... said she should've died instead of the unborn child... because she was "offended"?! The eff??!! There is something seriously sick going on in that woman's head. What a twisted and disgusting thing to say to anyy let alone someone who just lost their child!
Man she is an entitled parent who believes that her kids are out to get her. But rather it is that the kids are so dependent on her that they can’t take any of the words she says.
Emotional Stress can trigger a miscarriage so it would be interesting to see if the mother was subjecting her daughter to emotional abuse throughout the pregnancy and whether some cruel act from the mother immediately precipitated the loss.
If so, then the death of the child is on its grandmother.

My mom is a narcissist. I havent spoken to her in almost 2 years. I realized that I do not have to deal with the way my mom speaks to and disrespects me.

The son and daughter need to walk away and stay away from their mother. She does not make their lives better or enrich their lives. Dr Phil I have watched your show for years appreciating the light you have brought to people lives. This episode was hurt. You allowed this woman to berate her daughter on the show. You read the horrible damaging this out loud that this awful heartless woman did to her daughter. The daughter hurt all over again, crying as you read those vile words. It was unprofessional. It re abused that poor daughter. Please next time throw that woman and her hateful damaging words off the stage.

This makes me so grateful for my mother...I have never even entertained the thought of disrespecting my mom or calling her out of her name, she's 85 years old now and I'm still terrified of that little woman 😀... And she definitely has never spoken to me or any of my siblings like that, I'm always had a problem with parents that think their children are their possessions and aren't entitled to their own opinions, lifestyles, and choices as adults.... I now have adult sons, and I make it a point not to disrespect their households, respect their wives as their chosen QUEENS, whether I like them or not, does not matter but I must be respectful to my sons bride and her home.... If my mother told me I was to blame for my unborn son’s death and that I should’ve died instead while I was laying in the hospital bed, I wouldn’t call her “Mom” either. She doesn’t deserve it.

From what I gathered, coming to the show is the last straw. If her mother took responsibility for what she said, they might be able to move forward but as long as she can’t, they’re better off separating altogether.

I relate to this more than I want to. My mother was very similar i stopped all contact at 22 and it was the best thing that could have happened.

She is the problem..she didnt even get hours to grieve before her mother needed the attention.
