  • Saturday morning calls for a slow pancake morning, fresh cut backyard flowers, freshly backed brownies for the neighbours, and a little insight into how some of my endometriosis symptoms have remained during my pregnancy. If you have endometriosis or adenomyosis, has your symptoms increased or decreased during pregnancy? What are some of your main symptoms in your chronic illness that you're currently dealing with?
Description of Placenta Previa: Placenta previa is a complication during pregnancy when the placenta completely or partially covers the opening of the uterus (cervix).
The placenta is an organ that develops inside the uterus during pregnancy. It works to provide oxygen and nutrition to the baby and to remove waste. The placenta connects to your baby through the umbilical cord. Typically, the placenta is attached to the top or side of the inner wall of the uterus.
With placenta previa, the placenta attaches lower in the uterus. This results in some portion of the placental tissue covering the cervix. It can result in bleeding during the pregnancy or during or after delivery.
Changes in the uterus and placenta during pregnancy may lead to the problem correcting on its own. If it doesn't, the baby is delivered by cesarean section (C-section). (source: Mayo Clinic)
Description of subchorionic hemorrhage: It is the accumulation of blood within the fold of the outer fetal membrane situated right next to the placenta (chorion) or between the placenta and the uterus.
Subchorionic bleeding usually resolves on its own, but some cases require immediate medical attention, especially in women with sensitive pregnancy. About 1% of pregnant women experience subchorionic hemorrhage and most of them occur during first trimester (source: webMD)

I'm not sure if my cysts continued to grow during pregnancy as I haven't had a follow-up since giving birth for my endometriosis 🤍
