The Episode I wave might not be the best, but it's the most impressive. So many designs we take for granted originated here. Lightsabers, battle droids, astromechs. This wave felt like *LEGO* Star Wars, if that makes sense.
6:26 I own both of those 😬(Bounty Hunter Pursuit and Jango's Slave I). Got the former for Christmas from my grandparents, and found the latter on sale for 20 Euros (yes, that was an enormous bargain even back then, normal price was 60 or 70). I disassembled the Slave I in 2018/19 bc it had become dusty af and I haven't rebuilt it since. Also sold both figures for a hefty pricetag. Bounty Hunter Pursuit has been re-assembled since about 2015 and it's still going strong (even though a remake is overdue).
I honestly don't think the Bounty hunter pursuit set looks all that rough by today's standards like he said. I honestly think all you need to do is keep the same designs for the speeders and just update the figures. There are a lot of incredible colors on those two. Plus the way certain pieces are utilized is pretty ingenious. Again, it still holds up in my eyes. Maybe I'm biased though, because that was kind of my era for lego as a kid. Don't have much of a frame of reference for the 2002 slave one. The only other slave one I had was the 2006 design. That blue ship is long overdue for a remake though. That one does look somewhat rough for today. Except for the colors. The color scheme looks pretty good.
I'd say my favorite is the Revenge of the sith wave. Could just be nostalgia since I was 8 when that wave dropped. I had all of the sets minus the Wookie catamaran. Crazy how the Anakin vs Obi wan duel has never been properly remade. I actually still have that one. Except for the light up Obi wan figure. I probably traded it with a friend when I was a kid. In all honesty, I had all of them up until recently. I've been selling a ton of my legos. Not because I don't like them or whatever, but I just need the storage space. Plus, I dont really use them anymore. It's hard for me to judge the other ones since I didn't have any of the sets from TPM and AOTC waves. Plus, I was kind of done collecting by the time the sequel waves were coming out. The force awakens wave looks pretty cool though. That along with the Rogue one sets.
I had both big Kashyyyk sets with the light-up figures and got in total about half of the total roster.. sadly I wasn't into keeping my stuff built and shiny back then and I've also lost a lot of figures x.x good memories tho
Actually I’ve been talking with “That Star Wars Guy” about doing a collab sometime where we rank every set by the 57th piece in the instructions or something like that. 😂
2:16 I have the resistance bomber, would recommend

Nice video I really love the episode 1 release wave, it just has a certain charm to it!

It's 12 movies.
Everybody missing the clone wars movie.
I know it's forgettable but remember it had its own set wave
I'm so disappointed in. myself for forgetting that. 😳

Its not a release wave, but the 2013 wave of attack of the clones sets was also amazing!
Don’t worry, CD, if you run out of ideas, you can jump on the ‘Ranking Every Star Wars movie by the 8,541th frame’ bandwagon.

Looks like you ranked episode 8 way too low. Those sets looked cool
