Speaking of coaches. My HS had a 25 year HC football retire. He just couldn't deal with the kids anymore.
They hired one of these internet guru guys who never played a down of football in his life but views game film and writes a blog about football, specially offense football.
Let's just say he tried to run an NFL offense at the HS level. It was no pretty.
I am told these types of coaches are the future. Guys who never played a sport but are very interested in the sport.
I just see this going over badly. Could you imagine a wrestling HC who never wrestled.
In the news, we are seeing many high school coaches stepping down. GREAT Coaches who are tired of the BS.
It is heart breaking to see this happening. Imagine a school hiring a math teacher who doesn't have a math degree!
My local HS has a solid sports program and weight room with no Strength Coach any advice on how to approach them for potential opportunity to Coach the weight room?
@@Tm_Driver start connecting with parents who are in the booster clubs, offered to do some volunteer work, contribute to the end of year banquet with gift cards, you have to build relationships
And you could also go directly to the sport coaches and the athletic Director, sometimes individual teams will hire you specifically for their team and that might spread further into the school
Do you find MS / HS kids like it when you train with them.. the energy in the room is a little higher when you do?
I don't train w/ our athletes but when I was in college I had a group who needed that energy and so I did it! Makes it hard to coach when you are training yourself, though
