i never could hear the bass line to this theme, and now i finally hear it, and wow what a great bass line. Essentially a walking bass line over your standard I -V--IV-VI progression. But the walking bass is done in an eighth note rock and roll style instead of a jazz swing feel. And the notes played are primarily chord tones. Not a complicated concept. Old school James Jamerson or Carol Kaye style. They were both jazz musicians before getting into rock and roll.
