Damn that is a sharp looking vehicle. I'm actually glad LR decided to make the new defender a discovery with a new dress. Now we get something which must be at least more reliable ;)
lots of software glitches are being reported by the current users. I am surprised that it is taking this long for a software patch to fix the low hanging issues.
Awesome video - thank you! Do you have any experience with 4x4 Proyect shocks in Grenadier? These were recommended to me in conjugation with the eibach springs.
We have Koni shocks on our Grenadier; they work great and have simple tuning capabilities. We have not tried Proyect suspension, but they look impressive.
The tires add 1/2” and the springs added another 1/2-1”. We shared the total height of the truck with the tent in the comments on the first Grenadier video.
Can the wheel arches handle them at full lock? When the suspension is working hard over really uneven ground? It's touch and go with the stock wheels, so my prediction is 'no'.
@@ok4wd I had only heard about higher weight rated springs which should compress to normal ride height with more weight on them. Anyway, great video and loved the detailed walkthrough.
Our build and how we plan on using the vehicle doesn't require long travel suspension. The brake lines are plenty long for the amount of height we added, only about 2-2.5 inches.
I am currently trying to Swap in some heavy duty springs using this Video as aguide Line. I think i followed all the instructions but the Axel doesn t go down nearly as much as in the Video. Right now its Impossible to remove the springs without the use of some sprincompressing tool. Can anyone tell where I went wrong or Point out some necessary step that isn t shown properly in the Video. Thanks.
The amount of lift you gain with taller coils, you lost it on suspension flex, as you have less travel on the shocks. If you are keeping stock shocks, you need the brackets either upper or lower to compensate by closing the shocks in the same proportion the coils lifted the truck, or get shocks with more travel equivalent to the coils lift. I’m guessing it was like 2”? Not an issue until you actually go off-roading …
Shortly after, the stock shocks were replaced with Koni Shocks. With a new platform, aftermarket support arrives in waves, and Koni's were a welcomed improvement to overall ride quality both on and offroad.
I would buy one today, but Ineos does not and has no plans to offer a technical service manual. So when you’re 300 miles out in the middle of nowhere and you break something I guess you’re supposed to call their service department for a tow? Ridiculous!
It wasn’t overland ready from the factory? I sometimes wonder if channels do a cost analysis and say, if I spend $20k on an ‘upgrade’ video will I get enough clicks to pay for it?
No caster adjustments. No regear assessment. No sway bar drop link options. No drive shaft angle info. Just your typical simple minded lift for UA-cam. 😂
Wäre der Federwechsel mit einem Federspanner nicht wesentlich einfacher gewesen??? Bremssattel ab und Stabilisator lösen wärde evemtuell gar nicht nötig gewesen??? Liebe Grüße Oliver
So you took an awesome factory ready overland vehicle, did not really use it, but 'upgraded' it by bolting on stuff and deem it 'better' - what a dud approach.
Even thou Im not a fan of bfg tires, it looks so much better on 34s!
It changed the whole truck!

Time will tell, but with a reliable BMW driveline and STOUT everything else, we are very impressed.

That’s a nice looking shop.
Thank you!
Why don’t you use spring clamps
Wasn’t necessary.
Clamps on the springs would have obviated the need for all that dismantling!
@@brucecutts8841not enough room to compress and remove the spring with the spring compressor on. The way they did it is way easier.
Yes! Love the new upgrades 🎉
Thanks! It looks pretty good and drives great!
Did you upgrade the spare tire size as well? If so, does it fit without causing issues opening the rear door?
We did. I just cleared the ladder. Any tire size larger would certainly interfere with opening the rear door.
Do they not make spring compressors anymore?
They do, but this is easier and safer.

I love this setup. Any chance you could measure the overall height with the new lift and tires?
The tires add 1/2” and the springs added another 1/2-1”. We shared the total height of the truck with the tent in the comments on the first Grenadier video.
Awesome, thanks! So roughly a 3" tire difference from the stock 31"s only added 1/2"? How sad :( @@ok4wd
Don't lose your key. I watched a video of a Ineos owner in Australia. He lost his key and the replacement key cost $1,000 AUD.
Holy cow! Thanks for sharing.
My back end has sagged lots.
Do you reckon just springs to change? Keep the factory shocks?
Eibach springs and Koni shocks will help significantly!
Could you give an approximate fitting time for the springs and do you think it would be possible to fit them without using a ramp?
Really!? You go thru the whole install and don’t do a view of the finished product. Come on…
We’ve got a walkaround coming soon!
My thoughts exactly.
Lazy Fjukin Millennials, show 5 minutes of unnecessary bolt twisting and no finished product
Will it fit 35s?
Can the wheel arches handle them at full lock? When the suspension is working hard over really uneven ground? It's touch and go with the stock wheels, so my prediction is 'no'.
No issue what so ever
You mention a lift a couple of times but all you showed was the heavier duty springs. Is the lift just the tyres?
The Eibach springs are taller springs than the factory springs.
@@ok4wd I had only heard about higher weight rated springs which should compress to normal ride height with more weight on them. Anyway, great video and loved the detailed walkthrough.
Why didn’t you extend the brake lines and fit longer travel shocks?
Our build and how we plan on using the vehicle doesn't require long travel suspension. The brake lines are plenty long for the amount of height we added, only about 2-2.5 inches.
If you’re not planning on using a roof tent, can you use the stock springs w the larger tires? Is there enough clearance? Thanks!
yes

Do you need to recalibrate the speedometer with the larger tyres?
With the tires we put on the Grenadier, we’re only seeing a 1MPH increase at 65MPH.
After the lift and alignment, what did the front caster come in at?
We align each car individually so the numbers may vary based on weight, options and accessories.
@@ok4wdso what are the specs?
Were the Tie rod and drag links double nutted? I have a Grenadier and mine is do to not the right lock nuts used? Anyway you guys are in NJ right?
Yes we are in Stewartsville, NJ
It would be great to know the alignment settings.

Interesting you kept the stock shocks.
Not for long! Waiting on brands to have upgrades and Koni shocks will be getting installed.
Your are building my dream SUV
It's a great platform so far.
Once this thing gets an electronic disconnecting sway bar, I'll be looking for one.
I'm sure that's not far away.
Ineos should have an option for a lift kit & 35's. I bet it would be a big hit with the off roading/over landing fans.
Hey Guys.
Check out the German Company Taubenreuther.
The have a Steering damper which is an amazing upgrade for he Ineos!
We'll check it out! Thanks for the heads up.
Never heard of spring compressors in the US

Have you heard of spring compressors..??!!!🤦🏻
Less room for accidents plus the install is straightforward enough on a lift to do this.

what is Overland ready? Ready to Cosplay?
