- The APX's thin-line body combines incredible comfort, easy top-fret access and a sound perfectly suited to on-stage use with bright, clear mids, balanced highs and controlled lows. Specially designed non-scalloped X-type bracing allows the guitar’s top to sing and maximises the resonance of the unique body shape for a full, natural tone. With dynamics, sensitivity and clarity built into the design from day one, APX is a guitar not to be underestimated.
With an exclusive Medium-jumbo body, the CPX Series guitars boast powerful, rich bass combined with smooth, delicate highs and sweet mid-range for an open, modern voice. Non-scalloped X-type bracing ensures a powerful yet controlled tone that allows the guitar to deliver strong, rich acoustic sounds while still remaining clear and usable on-stage.

One practical issue with the CPX600 (and other guitars in a similar situation) is the location of the guitar strap nut. It's placed such that it pulls away from the strap which can cause the strap to come off. This happened to me the day after I bought the guitar and I dropped it. Thankfully there was no damage. Also because the place isn't at level with the rest of the guitar, I can't use a strap with a lock either. In the end I tried the strap to the headstock.
When I watch someone play a guitar I wonder how is such a fluid skill possible.... genius level skill. I've just started learning yesterday....I know two cords & strum like a robot 🤖 🤣
It's the same for everyone, if after one day oure playing chotds, you're doing well and maybe you're the genius. Guitar isn't easy as a lot think, but persevere and it will give you a lifetime of pleasure.
@@colinpadley1897 I appreciate the kind words, have a brilliant weekend 😀
good vid
Ok, so to compare 2 guitars lets play completely differently so you could not compare.
This video wasn't intended to be a comparison. Besides, I wouldn't call the playing samples "completely different." The styles were similar although each did cater more towards the kind of player who'd be more interested in that particular model.
@@tomeisenmenger7048 The video's title uses the word "vs" and they also mentioned the differences between the guitars in the video, so I think its fair to say that this video is a comparison
Yes! Would have loved to have heard the same lick, covering all six strings, played on both, to hear the difference in tone, between the different sized bodies.
nice!
After nearly 30 years I will be trading in my old Yamaha classical guitar for one of these. Do I take it from your video that I should go for the CPX 600 then? I tried the APX 600 in a local shop and I loved the sound.
I have the Yamaha CPX 600 guitar and been recording with this one as well. But I'm always struggling with finding the right set of strings. I'm only familiar with D'Addario strings but they sound too bright especially when it's plugged or recorded. I prefer a heavier sound cause most of the music I wrote is acoustic, so the bright sound from the guitar is pretty bothering to me. Is there any recommendation for strings? Also, how long until I should change the strings?
hi Bethany, I am no expert, but this is what works for me, I am using martin SP authentic acoustic, medium 13-56 strings, tuned to drop d# g# c# f# a# d# or drop c# g# c# f# a# d#, and I find the guitar has a nice heavier sound, read more show less
hi Bethany, I am no expert, but this is what works for me, I am using martin SP authentic acoustic, medium 13-56 strings, tuned down to d# g# c# f# a# d# or c# g# c# f# a# d#, guitar has a nice less bright heavier sound, read more show less
Elixir string more good sound than d'addario
Use elixir. If in yamaha L36 japan series use elixir too
Use 011 size if you more comfortable. 012 is general size.
Savage
Which 1 has the better sound?
😊Nice
Kindly suggest me guitar string gauge for CPX600 finger style
The stock is gauge 12 but extra light gauge 10 works well too.
I am from India, are they guitars available in India right now want me to buy.!
yes it is !
Which model can i use for blues and country style??
Thanks
yamaha apx-spl ii is this a good guitar? Was thinking of buying second hand
My cpx 600 doesn't sound the same. 🤔
Are they Made in Japan?
My APX9C was made in Taiwan. Really well made guitar. Sounds great through a PA. Sounds ok acoustic, but body thickness makes it sound a little thin. (no pun intended). Fantastic neck and playability.
Bad presentation...
Kindly suggest me guitar string gauge for CPX600 finger style
0,11 strings
