    • @pencil2d
      @pencil2d 4 роки тому +2

@Sonic Mania Fan Hi, sorry for the delay. It is our understanding that showreel is usually a video that shows various scenes in sequence. In this case it will be from different artists and their works. We also refer to it as showcase reel.
In animation artists also use the term "demo reel" to show their own work in video form.
The word "reel" in this context comes from "leica reel" which was made by shooting (filming) individual drawings from storyboards over time directly to celluloid film used in old cameras, and then edited along with a soundtrack.
Leica reel later became synonym with "animatic" as the process became more simplified thanks to technological advances.

    • @pencil2d

Hi. You can double click the camera and change the size to have a rectangular aspect ratio. Usually anything from 720 x 540 up to 1920 x 1080 will have a 16:9 aspect ratio which looks rectangular (and is standard for widescreen broadcast content).

    Hi Ska
Yours is good but far to fast and difficult for youngsters to follow.
Do you have or do you know of any simple tutorials with a step by step guide on how to create something? For beginners, for the first time pupils have seen this program.
Do you have or know anything that starts from a blank canvas - Tutorials suitable for lessons - 1 hour long
I am finding most tutorials are just showing how to use pencil2D and all its features. I want to give pupils a simple tutorial to follow so they create a simple animation and learn the just skills and tools to do this. I cannot let them just “play” on pencil 2D as they need something to watch, follow and do.
All I can find and higher level tutorials which a young teenager would not have the patience or skill to follow….
A different tutorial for each lesson would be ideal... so the will slowly pick up the skills by making simple animations.
(A video would have to be based on the default layout Pencil2D as this is what they will be using)
    Any suggestions?
    ta

In layers, double click on camera layer, camera properties window will pop up and then you can change camera size :)

How do you change the width and height at first (not exporting the animation and then changing the width and height) to a 1280 width, and 720 height?

Hey I wanted to ask how you lowered the opacity of the sketch layer Im using pencil 2d and wanted to do the outline and i'm having problems with figuring it out

Hello. The answer is you go to View, then go to layer visibility and choose Relative. The layers in the background will appear more transparent. The more layers, the more transparent the background layers get. Or as you said, the opacity gets lower.
