18 years of regularly hearing it and now I realise how sad the national anthem sounds.
RIP King George V,King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II
1865-1936
1895-1952
1926-2022
I would have been in that list saying 2002 - 2023 if I died from my illness but I’m grateful to be alive

More like Queen Elizabeth III
2:11 even nazi germany put half flag
It was always interesting between the UK and Germany, Hitler himself called them their cousins, even in war.
My great granny said she was doing her ironing and listening to the radio and it just stopped and said the king is dead
The only King Emperor to visit the Delhi Durbar in person
Great great King. 85 years today.
RIP.
Yea very sad
King George V truly had a kingly look with that beard.
King George V, is defo my favourite monarch,. if I could revive anyone famous, I'd defo revive HM!
George Fredrick Ernest Albert - June 3 1865 - January 20 1936
King George and his son must be smiling at Elizabeth right now.
And very proud of her too.
As long as they are not beckoning her...
Well uh..
@@alexeykkk9557 😅
They _are_ probably right now-
RIP Queen Elizabeth.
Around 86 years later it happens again
One of the few of Victoria's grandchildren to pass peacefully. Wilhelm II of Germany was another. One died violently, Nicholas II of Russia.
🥺
the doctor murdered him. He deliberately overdosed the kings pain medication so he would die in time for it to be announced in the morning paper.
George V and Nicholas II looked so alike
Wilhelm was deposed and died in The Netherlands.
Nicholas and his immediate family were executed. There is some question as to whether his abdication was legal because the second document skipped over Alexei and gave the crown to Nicholas's brother.
Charles Edward of Hesse-Darmstadt (son of Victoria's second daughter) was deposed. Before that, he lost all of his British titles because he fought for Germany in WW-1.
2:05 is the Largo "Ombra Mai Fu" from Handel's opera Xerxes
My favourite British monarch 😭
Mine too
How much did George V really know about Edward VIII's relationship with Wallis Simpson?
George had said that when he was dead, Edward would likely ruin himself within a year. He also hoped that Edward wpuld have no descendants (so that his second son would be King).
And he was right
No monarch will ever match HR Queen Elizabeth II.
*HM which means Her Majesty. A monarch is referred to as such.
Well Elizabeth I has done a tremendous Job.
Now the Queen joins him.
This is sad. My fourth great granduncle is King George V.
Rest in peace granduncle George.
86 years later and it still hurts
1865-1936.

fourth great granduncle huh
so you mean that one of King George V's siblings is your ancestor?
@@thegamerteo0560 yeah. His great-grandmother Queen Victoria. I just don't know how to describe the relation to her.
I feel that - for I am a descendant of Brian Boru...taken from us too soon! 😭
The physicians mix something on him basically trying to make him feel better but didn’t work
Rip my favourite king
Wonderful
Was that Walis entering the car at the beginning?
Hi Chris, no it isn't Wallis Simpson climbing into the car, it is actually Princess Marina Duchess of Kent and wife of the late King's fourth son Prince George, the Duke of Kent.
RIP
2:11. Edward VIII likes that.
Today is the 87th Anniversary of his death
One month later, I’d almost die myself from a dangerous illness but I’m fully recovered now
It’s the 88th anniversary now
If I got the order correct, I believe his oldest boy took over, meaning Edward the 8th, right?
Me a canadian: wat? Rip man 😐😐😐
No, his oldest son was Albert (George VI). When George VI died Edward VIII became king.
@@beneyweneys No. His eldest son was Edward. He succeeded to the throne and then abdicated in December 1936, giving the crown to Albert, his brother. He became King George VI and reigned until his death in 1952, then of course Queen Elizabeth became monarch for 70 years.
@@stupstickman Then Queen Elizabeth II Died and Prince Charles becomes King Charles III.
@@beneyweneys Edward VIII(The Duke of Windsor) was the eldest and he subsequently became King upon the death of George V but he abdicated on December 11th that same year because he wanted to marry Mrs.Simpson upon which his brother The Duke of York(later known as George VI) succeeded him as Sovereign.
Just think his reign lasted only a third as long as his granddaughters
Peacefully to its close? George V was murdered by his physician, Lord Dawson of Penn.
Wasn't he going to die regardless and all Dawson did was speed things up?
@@chrismc410 Yes, but the techical name for "speeding things up" is murder.
@@chrismc410 wanted the death to make the morning papers, felt that was more fitting of a kings death announcement!
@DPBGMODELRAILROAD even though George V was well past caring and knew he wouldn't survive much longer
King George V was a brute who terrified his children. Speaking to the Earl of Derby, George V said this about his children "My father was frightened of his mother, I was frightened of my father, and I am damned well going to see to it that my children are frightened of me." - repulsive man

King George V was injected with crocane and Morphine to ease his suffering
